  1. I absolutely LOVE the "Glory Days"
  2. If you live NORTH of US24, and are in 6A...Do you honestly believe that you have ANY shot of winning at LOS in 6A? Participation is a "wonderful thing" I guess.....
  3. Plead with LN to take away FW North and play them. There are other options for the Legends to play honestly.
  4. We all agree (Northerners)... That it will take a complete refocusing of what " success" is, if we keep with the insulated attitude of our conferences. The SAC opened up the 1st 2 weeks for outside competition. I truly believe that it has been a rousing success, even with some of the lopsided losses to the BIG BOYS from Central Indiana. If 6A Football is the barometer that means "success".... Then get OUT of your local area and play the BIG BOYS! Heck, even play the "mid" BIG BOYS. I think that could even be a measure of how good a program is. Fortunately, because of the ALL-IN tournament system....There actually are losses that can be called a 'pyrrhic victory'. Yes, you LOST....but did you win the war? Does the loss, make you stronger? The North needs a complete re-thinking of their current scheduling system in order to win at LOS.
  5. If you plan on doing that...then THIS had better be the year. Having had the "lower level" Bishop Luers' teams this past season. They have a BEAST of underclassmen heading to Varsity in the ensuing seasons.
  6. Here's a GREAT problem to have... Looks like the Braves are now getting into "big boy" FB. I'll bet that you would take that as a push to beef up the athletic admiration system in place at this time. All in all, if the success of Maconaquah continues for the next few years; I bet that things will change/expand. Heck, yawl turfed the place a couple of years ago. And the AD is fantastic down there, also.
  7. I grew up in Missouri, and THEY always play the postseason at neutral sites. Totally agree with you!
  8. Uh, BOTH still playing in the Tournament.... Looks like Elkhart or Penn in this situation. Is a week enough time for a host school to get set up, though? I agree with REAL "neutral" sites though following the Sectional Finals.
  9. Would be nice if the AUTHOR of the topic actually said that.... Oh well! Congrats to the players
  10. Tells us NOTHING. Is this a Semi-Pro League? A HS level league? Or is is it just a bunch of dudes "playing FB"?
  11. On behalf of ALL the GID Faithful... We certainly are anticipating you to be there next year! I know that I am... Great season for the Irish, though it didn't end as you expected. Now you have a "Wildcat team" to root for as they move forward. IHSAA FB has given us tonight a heck of a rest of the season to look forward to, IMO.
  12. Happy to be a part of the Top 20.... Best in NE Indiana..again?
  13. Here's something that we KNOW about R. Nelson Snider HS (and a LOT of IN schools that have been "there" before). They will NOT try to win a game at the expense of physically hurting a player. NEXT MAN UP!
  14. How I WISH that East Saint Louis (IL) would have defeated IMG a few weeks ago.
  15. You would have to define "siding". If admitting that an error was made in an official's ruling (on RULES APPLICATIONS, not judgements), then its way better than 1 in a 1000. Probably more like 25% or better. If anyone is defining "siding" as overruling an egregious error to allow a team to advance/lose on said 'crew/call' then its 0%. Its written in black and white by the NFHS. The one time that I was aware of the IHSAA having repercussions on an official (within sports that I am familiar with); Is years ago when Vincennes Lincoln walked off a Baseball game. But the batter/runner removed his helmet in celebration before he touched home plate. They called him out, Incorrectly. Jasper then went on the win the contest in extra innings and advance in the tournament. This was UPHELD. Jasper advanced not VL. The IHSAA did make note that the rule was misapplied in this situation. Those officials were removed for the remainder of the tournament.
  16. Never HEARD of him??? May want to think deeper on the "joke"..
  17. I was at Powers Hamburgers other day and some guy named: "Woodson Roderick" was in town...said he went to R. Nelson Snider HS. Any possibility they could slip him into the secondary this week?
  18. Never done it in FB, but I have done it in Baseball. A few ejections over 40+ years.... Then hit with the comment "The game is over, you can't eject me!" Well, that didn't end well for the offender(s)... 😄
  19. @Indiansreloaded I am sorry, I though that the initial facemask penalty was against the defensive player..... So let me change the administration of the situation Yes, the penalty for facemask which was an OFFENSIVE penalty would be marked off at the spot of the foul. THEN, check for the line to gain. If it was a 1st down... Ole Miss would have a 1st down, then you would mark off the dead ball foul for the late hit and it would be a 1st down at that spot following the late hit. My game ended rather quickly, and I was trying to answer the question in the parking lot..... DOH!
  20. Penalty (defensive) is ADDED to the end of the run....
  21. Sounds like the face mask should have been enforced at the end of the run...then check the line to gain for the down. Following that, you have a dead ball Personal Foul against Delta that ALSO should have been enforced Following the mark off of the 1st penalty. If the line to gain is past the 1st down then that is where the ball is These are NOT offsetting penalties! They are BOTH enforced. And it could *i guess be possible for the ball to wind up at the spot of the original end of the run...but I highly doubt it.
  22. I had an up close and personal view....just sayin It was a slobber-knocker, and basically a defensive battle. I would expect the SAME thing with Snider/Elkhart as it was with Penn/Elkhart. It will/should come down to one play, series...either way.
