  1. "Decent set of games this week." A lot better than Week 4 which dictated what the "GOW" would be. All blowouts, but the BD @ HHS game. All sound good, gonna take Luers over the Legends though. I am riding the Knights as being better than their record shows. Numbers are their only weakness in the SAC.
  2. Hell, I had undefeated Cathedral at an undefeated Center Grove a few years ago.... 7-0 CG final. That was a BIG GAME. Before that had an undefeated Bishop Dwenger @ an undefeated Bishop Luers in Week 9. BD won. Contests that I will always remember!
  3. Fair enough. . This spiraled out of control... I apologize for being so terse! I admire BTF and all he gives to the GID. Perhaps this is a good time for "this guy" to concentrate on the field of play, rather than the ratings/rankings. And here is one thing we can BOTH agree upon. The "truly" Northern schools in IN (not the donut schools) need to step up and become competitive in every way from 4A to 6A! WIth the SAC changing their scheduling...that is a wonderful step in the right direction. AGAIN: My apologies for being a "ButtHead"
  4. I agree. Been here for YEARS... And am totally shocked at the situation. I thought that I had an ability to disagree...and agree as needed. And I stand by my perception that Carroll (FW) is a top 10 team.... because they are ranked as such in 6A.
  5. Do me a favor. Don't read a response...OR better yet... Just leave! I'll do whatever the HE## I want to do!!!!
  6. Agreed across the board (Except BD over HHS) even with the 'Helen Keller' choice of the Game of the Week in the SAC.
  7. It was in 2021. With an injured/depleted Westfield on the road at Carroll. Again. Just get through Sectional #2 (Carroll) and let the chips fall. Stop being so LOCAL in your deference to things! We have a long way to go in FW at the 6A level. 2023 and beyond will solve/settle things EARLY. We'll see
  8. They did fight back and beat a Leo team that is in their 1st year of a 'new" system and HC. 2nd half Injuries were a major factor in Leo not prevailing, IMO. Not quite sure that that gives the Kats a leg up on your scale of "quality opponents". But Leo is a "quality opponent".
  9. Until proven otherwise... Westfield is the TOP TIER team in the North. They were our representative last season, and they are formidable this year also. Having said that.... I have seen Carroll (up front and personal) and believe that they are closing the gap on the Indy Area. But Sectional #2 is a hell of a Sectional to navigate, and let's talk when the Sectional Finals are decided.
  10. @Purdue PeteYOU run on that stuff! And YOU have to make measurements on it also. I really need to get you an application to be an official. It is a completely different situation on grass (Bellmont exclusively) than most every place that I have ever officiated. But having said that, I will still have the "guys" down in Decatur when asked and requested... All in all it may (in time) be a bonus for the Braves to be the outlier in the NE8....But I prefer the change to turf for the rest of the Conference.
  11. Not at all unpopular. He should have had ALL Blue rings... IMO
  12. Trust me..they WILL in 2A this season... And I also will honor my candor with Luers. Week One was a meat-grinder for the Knights
  13. How's about everyone chip in $1 to the "Get Turf @ Bellmont" fund? 7 of 8... one outlier
  14. Gonna think differently on that. So long as they stay healthy... I can see ONE loss during that "gauntlet". North Side is the outlier that I totally forgot about. But as a "gentleman" I will stick with my previous comment. Perhaps I will owe you a Powers or Coney Island snack when the regular season ends.
  15. I was TOTALLY expecting a lot from Luers. Carroll had numbers...which 2A Luers could never expect to match. I honestly could see them perhaps dropping only one more SAC game this year if they stay healthy. They truly are THAT good! I don't want to get into the rumor scuttlebutt that was tossed around at work today by a few co-worker Wayne parents. But wasn't very foreboding for the "program" and the relationship between coaches and players...ugh! FYI: Wayne LOST to Luers...just sayin
  16. Affirmative for Week 3. But again, I am hesitant to pick schools. "If you do not make a choice....You still have made a choice"...Rush
  17. Pick Em! But I darned well don't need to see Coach Curtis or Coach Yeoman in a dark alley if I think Carroll could prevail in this Sectional based upon what I have seen so far. Let's see what Week 9 has in store prior to the playoffs.....
  18. No problem... I owe you a thumbs up Mark
  19. This crew...if ya know anything has ALWAYS been of the belief that we will knock on the door of both schools...then usher them onto the field BEFORE the end of the 15 minute mark....set the 3 minute warmup clock and continue with the 2nd half. I am totally offended at your assumption, based upon NOTHING that I would not adhere to the terms of proper officiating procedures. You clearly have me and my crew confused with those who haven't done multiple State Finals! The gun in my mouth was to the belief that ANY crew would NOT do which I espoused in this response!
  20. To which are you referring to that I have said I am not in favor of enforcing?
  21. Haydock gets better as the year progresses. Trust me on this one....
  22. Snider is NO JOKE in 5A.... So that isn't a slight on them. And yes 6A North is a barnburner. But it is available to be done for Carroll. Let's not forget...Those from Da Region, North Side or Dwenger.... WOW! And in 4A...Wayne, and more. Plus New Pal. New Pal is tearing it up so far! Coach Ralph is a darned (not taking a 'stand') good Coach!
