Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions
Yuccaguy replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I'm done with this stupid comparison to a district that is solely it's OWN (ESL) and that which a part of a larger one (Tech).... -
Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions

As a STL born and bred person... How about you take some time and LEARN something? Tech is perhaps more like University City (MO), or Ritenour (MO), or Saint Louis Sumner? -

Not even close to the ESL situation... Perhaps you don't realize as ridiculous of a comparison to Tech you raised? -

The East Saint Louis Athletic program in NO WAY can even be compared to that of Tech. ESL McKinley and ESL Lincoln closed within that district years ago and THAT gave them a multitude of athletic ability that was able to be tapped into. It was a self-sustaining situation. Add that to the legacy of the Women's (and Men's) Track and Field programs, the Basketball programs (including ESL Lincoln); How is a HS withing a a LARGER ISP District (Tech) even on par, or could even be compared? Clearly (the) ESL Flyers have taken pride in their athletic programs, so much so, that kids OUTSIDE of their district (and Illinois) transfer there to participate in their activities. Big time difference! -

I give the Rochester backers a lot of pride. Haven't heard/seen/read much chatter from Zebra Nation in like .... "forever". -
NIC teams in play-off October 27

I.was impressed by Fairfield's scheme. Haven't officiated them in a while, but it was a triple option..mostly approach that was effective . The yelling JT Dad not withstanding, being completely unaware of wonderful clean game on BOTH sides. Good luck to both schools! -

Were players for the Generals hurt? I had a guy at work just BITCH to high heaven about the players on the field last Friday for them.. Said that Haydock didn't even try until the 4th quarter. I wasn't there, so I have no idea.

Unless Wayne wins the upper bracket... That is entirely possible, IMO.
-
Games aren't actually played on "neutral fields" until LOS.

I have no dog in this situation. But a ONE OFF game is possible for anyone to win, if they are formidable enough. Now go run a 6 game gauntlet in 6A and then we could talk. There's a lot more to 6A than CG.
-
Having seen (as I tend do each season) a cross section of ALL classes within IHSAA FB. Trust me, EC may be the best in 4A (perhaps 5A also).... But they ain't winning in 6A, no way, no how! 6A is a totally different animal than which you have made yourself privy to.

No dog in that fight. Just wanting fantastic IHSAA FB always...

Exactly... I'm there a lot coming up. Or just go behind that....LOL

The field will be chopped up. I almost suggest to find the absolute worst in the Summit City to practice on... oh wait. That's located right there on Reed Rd. 😃

Had Mishawaka this past week. They are formidable, especially if the Panthers have to go to Steele Field. Have Anderson this week. That's a big tell, sorry. Good luck. 1 and done for everyone

Welp. 19 is exactly what I thought... a BEAST of a draw.
-
1A North is down... Fairly nice match-ups so far. Ping pong balls have allowed some scattering of games.
-
Great Dwenger catch to set up the 1st points of the game...🫣

Turf 2020 and Beyond
Yuccaguy replied to btownqbcoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
In a major change...Mishawaka will be installing Field Turf for the 24 season and beyond. -
I absolutely HATE being the "Uniform Policeman"... But every week when I see crews allowing untucked jerseys, and no regard for covered knees (prior to the action), its' a disgraceful situation...IMO. I don't get bent out of shape about BIG guys on the LOS... Who knows what sizes the schools orders for the average sized kid at this time of their life? Tinted Face Shields... Excessive eye black (we play at night mostly....ugh). The allowance of the rib protector to be sticking out, is stupid. I have read of situations where a kid has fallen on that and gotten a laceration of an internal organ. It may seem fashionable to some, but it is extremally dangerous to have it not covered by the jersey completely. Allowing the play card to be on the waist, and NOT reminding that it is to be located on the forearm(s). As I alluded to with the beginning of MY rant... It would be great if crews (officials) just tried to conform to the UNIFORMITY of what a UNFORM should be at this level of sport. I'll just wait for the next 2 weeks to come, and the BITCHING of assignments/evaluations will start all over again within our fraternity, and I'll (wash/rinse and) repeat the things that I say each and every year to them regarding the SIMPLEST of things that could allow them to advance.....far beyond being the UNIFORM POLICE.

Technically correct, I believe. But (after listening to 1380). There seems to be some sort of other parameters that they are using to further 'define' who actually gets the Bell. You would have thought that the SAC could have come up with a better calculation than just 'wins'. Without a cross-over game that involves the teams at the top. Why not just take a POLL and name a winner? Kinda like the AP/Coaches of the NCAA prior to a National Championship series.

Ya sure you didn't "time travel" back to Jimtown a few years ago? The legacy of the great Bill Sharpe! -
