  1. A consolidation of Covington and Fountain Central would make a nice football school.
  2. Woe is a Chicago Bears fan: https://deadspin.com/chicago-bears-fans-alan-williams-justin-fields-1850860136 Not a bad take for deadspin.
  3. Again? I thought that was pretty much all the time.
  4. Nice! I have heard of that place. Looks like a visit is definitely in order.
  5. I have zero desire to ever listen to Mr. Sten.
  6. It's a never ending dumpster fire under the current ownership.
  7. Agreed. Attica hasn't been a relevant player on the Indiana small school scene seen since the Josh Smith days back in 2000 or so.
  8. Where can one find the best Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich in the Wabash River Conference? Doesn't have to be a school concession stand, but any town, burg, or hole-in-the-wall as well.
  9. More bizarre stuff from this memorandum filed by the defense: https://www.jconline.com/story/news/crime/2023/09/20/delphi-murders-document-details-ritualistic-crime-scene-suspects-libby-german-abby-williams/70895144007/ Sounds like there is a Odinist cult/cabal operating in at least Carroll and Cass counties.
  10. https://www.jconline.com/story/news/crime/2023/09/18/allens-defense-libby-and-abby-killed-in-odinism-ritual-sacrifice/70890406007/ This sad story just took a really bizarre turn. Smells of real desperation by the defense.
  11. It was no secret during my playing days at my high school alma mater that at least 50% of the people in the stands were there to just watch the marching band perform at halftime. And almost all of them left after halftime and the performance was over.
  12. https://apnews.com/article/senate-dress-code-fetterman-schumer-1175eec2cc270e22848da891865134d3 Meh. Just like my views regarding professional (aka: paid) football coaches it the same for professional politicians. Dress like a professional. And that doesn't mean hoodies and shorts. We are still on the long, slow descent to the world depicted in Idiocracy:
  13. Go Wildkats. Go Cougars.
  14. https://deadspin.com/chicago-bears-2023-season-start-1850849594 Yep. Most Bears fans, myself included, are still hanging on due to the decades of goodwill brought on by one of the best teams in NFL history, the 1985 Bears. But for me that goodwill is almost spent. I actually find myself paying more attention to what is going on with the Colts than with my beloved Bears. And I agree that the McCaskeys need to go.
  15. https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/18/us/alabama-band-director-tased-arrested/index.html Don't mess with a high school band director when he's in this groove. And what's this about high school football on a Thursday night? Blasphemy.
  16. And nobody cares about the offensive linemen: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2023/09/19/colts-qb-anthony-richardson-suffered-concussion-and-so-did-ryan-kelly/70885664007/
  17. Go Wildkats.

  19. Now that everybody's navel has been sufficiently gazed, yes.
  20. I give up. With all the dogpiling I rescind what I have ever said about artificial turf. I was wrong and you all are right. It is the best thing to ever happen to Indiana High School football. In fact I will contact my duly elected representative in the Indiana legislature and propose to him that taxpayer funds be used to replace all the existing government high school natural grass football fields with artificial turf, and all government schools that have already done this be reimbursed for the initial installation expense. All Indiana high school athletes should never have to suffer through the indignity of a muddy football uniform or the uncertainty of a wet, slippery football that has fallen onto a wet grass field. We also need to petition the IHSAA to not allow tournament games on grass fields. That should give all those p/p schools out there more motivation to replace their cow pastures with pristine, perfect artificial surfaces. And keep those pictures of new artificial fields coming! I will endeavor to upvote them all from now on. ARTIFICIAL TURF FOR LIFE! ARTIFICIAL TURF FOREVER!
  21. Good for you. $2400 is a lot of money. You could buy a decent amount of high school textbooks for $2400.
