  1. Pretty amazing if you think about it. We live in a state that has ND, IU and Purdue. That’s not a slight to any other state institution. (that I’ve also attended). But to have 3 schools of that caliber in a midwestern state…..pretty incredible
  2. That’s an absolute classic!
  3. I'll be doing something else....not overly excited about this game in the first place
  4. That would be hard to argue Bob.... Chelcie Ross is just below those 4 for me....."nobody, I mean nobody comes into our house and pushes us around"
  5. According to this report, IU actually #1 largest alumni base. Big 10 has the top 5, and 7 of the 10 largest. Purdue comes in at #7. Crazy to think the state of Indiana 2 Big 10 schools have 2 of the largest alum bases in the country. https://www.almabase.com/blog/largest-alumni-associations
  6. Finally!! About time!!! 😝
  7. I don't care what you do or believe at the end of the day. Knock yourself out. Just accept your repeated pontifications of your personal views on a high school football forum will have absolutely nothing to do where the Bears ultimately land with a new sports stadium and facilities. Nor will mine. As I said before, you missed your call when it comes to urban planning & development.
  8. This ESPN predictor in 2026/27 has ND over Georgia for the championship https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47683244/2026-college-football-playoff-bracket-projection
  9. Amazing how the internet works...can always find sources that align with our personal beliefs. https://opalgroup.net/facilities/pro-sports-and-entertainment-facilities-how-theyre-changing-communities-forever/#:~:text=The benefits aren't just, place for neighbors to connect. Look, I understand that the choice of investment isn't always a positive. I think every case has to be evaluated individually on its potential merit. The article I linked above talks about the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and what its meant to that area for revitalization. I lived in the DC area for years. A dangerous and poor part of the district was the Anacostia area. I was surprised when the Washington Nationals baseball team built their stadium in that location. Years later, I had the chance to attend a couple of baseball games in the stadium. I couldn't believe how that area of Anacostia was totally different. It went from dead to thriving. Condos, businesses, hotels, restaurants, parks, walking trails along the Anacostia River, a new MLS stadium, etc. An investment in a sports stadium totally changed the blueprint of this section of DC. Again, its my understanding the Bears is funding their own stadium. At least according to AI sources, they plan to privately fund the $2B to build the stadium. In the Arlington Heights, IL proposal, the Bears asked are asking for $855 million in public funding for infrastructure (roads, utilities) and tax breaks. The NWI area isn't going to improve on its own...I see this area similar to the Barclay's Brooklyn and Washington Nationals/Anacostia DC areas. I realize its not a slam dunk. But examples have shown us that investments like this can turn an area around. Its hard to yield any return without some source of investment. If the Bears and the community are willing to invest together, I think the potential gain is well worth it. Especially for this particular region that needs investment so very bad. I don't need another source from you..we know where you stand. Simply agree to disagree that its always a constant when it comes to urban investment. Whether you agree or not, Indianapolis itself has certainly changed considerably after the Colts arrived. While we can debate the % of this growth due to the Colts, its impossible to argue the Colts have had no impact to the city's growth and development.
  10. I appreciated the humor.....
  11. Center Grove played Bloomington South last year for the first time in quite awhile. My guess is that both teams needed games last year (especially CG being an independent) and must have aligned on a multi-year agreement. Not sure how long this agreement is...same with CG and FW Carroll. I would be surprised to not see the CG vs Cathedral series renewed soon. CG just has limited options for 2 non-conference games now as far as timing.
  12. Saw that and had to chuckle....Kyler Murray is listed at 5'10" and I don't think Pavia is the same level as Murray. Guess I could be proven wrong.
  13. that's an interesting question....does Nike, Adidas, etc have a say? I like efforts that reduce the potential to pass on costs to the consumer, student, etc. But again, does this present unfair advantages to some schools vs others to lure the biggest sponsors? Locations, marketability, coaches, existing brand, alumni/donors, etc.
  14. I understand stats and 4th down conversions. You can't apply average stats for success when you are playing a backup QB making his first start of the season in the pressure of a playoff game in tough weather conditions. In other words, the variables for success were very different than the norm. Throw out the 50% success rate in this situation. Every point mattered
  15. Perhaps the dumbest penalty I have seen for awhile....would have been off the field on 4th and 12 and due to his mouth, first down. Then LA scores a passing TD on the same guy next play. What's worse...the official let him yap at the Rams sideline for awhile. You could tell the official didn't want to throw the flag. But the moron just wouldn't shut up. What a dork. Seattle did cover for him and pulled out a close one, but they were fortunate this guy didn't cost them the Super Bowl.
  16. I don't understand these coaches going on 4th down, passing on the 3 points. In this case, you have a back up QB that hasn't played the entire season. Forecast is clear with bad snow and winds coming. And you pass on the 3 and then lose by 3. I realize FG's were not automatic, but would have been a chip shot before the weather worsened. Head scratcher.
  17. Way for more funds….I think this for all sports. Thoughts?
  18. Charlie is a must!!!
