  1. If Harbaugh didn't lie or mislead, then why accept the 4 game suspension? This is a negotiated resolution...not just a NCAA demand. We concur about the inconsistencies of the NCAA, but we don't align that Harbaugh is a tragic victim. Then again, I am not a Michgan diehard fan....you are. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/university-michigan/wolverines/2023/07/26/michigan-football-jim-harbaugh-suspension-ncaa-violations-level-1-wolverines/70467575007/ https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2023/07/jim-harbaugh-reportedly-agrees-to-4-game-suspension-over-ncaa-probe.html You may want to worry less about Tennessee and the behavior of the man in charge of your favorite college program. It kinda sounds like a classic social media smokescreen tactic to get the attention away from this particular issue. (i.e., defending Biden by blaming Trump....blaming Obama while defending Trump, blaming Bush while defending Obama, etc.)
  2. I don't know enough about both situations to render an opinion, but I've never known the NCAA to be consistent...or exceptionally bright. But Michigan's first 4 games are cake walks....they can sleep through them and still win. My guess is that was a factor in handing out the penalty.
  3. According to ESPN, Harbaugh looking at a 4 game suspension for alleged recruiting violations. Shame games will be cake walks….
  4. Each class has different talent at key positions, along with different overall talent. Injuries also play a factor in those games. Also, getting teams up to play other teams factor in....you mention FC...no doubt they are improving. Jayson West is a great coach, and being a former CG assistant and long time WC coach, of course he knows how to prepare for CG. What you didn't mention is that CG lost at home last game of the season 2022 against Cathedral, when they were up for almost the entire game, only to lose the game with a massive Cathedral comeback in the last half of the 4th quarter. That loss definitely had an impact going into the FC game. But 4 games later, CG rolls over Cathedral at Indpls Tech, and wins the title against Carroll in much easier fashion that winning the title against Westfield the year prior in 2021. Are other teams in 6A getting better? No doubt....but its hard to draw comparisons year to year. Those CG teams of 2020 and 21 were loaded with talent and that doesn't happen each and every year. What the team and coaches delivered last year may have actually been even more impressive, as the expectations were not the same as the 20 and 21 teams. (at least by the fans) I am not hearing much of that from folks...definitely not the coaches and team. Is there some frustration about state teams refusing to play the Trojans....sure. I understand that totally, as I feel that way. But definitely not because they believe they are "too good". The schedule this season is a flat out gauntlet and it didn't need to be.
  5. I believe Whiteland called it off after a few years. They came close one game at Whiteland, but never beat the Trojans during that period. I would be shocked if CG didn't reach out. They have been looking everywhere for games.
  6. I don't totally disagree with your comment about the Warriors. But first things first..... 1) Win a 5A title before you outgrow the division 2) Start agreeing to play CG as backyard neighbor
  7. My point is that its easy to point blame sitting in the comfort of one's own living room, while also claiming that they would have resolved it easily. That's called overconfidence...perhaps even delusion. Unless people were there on the sideline to see and hear what transpired between coaches, players and officials, they are speculating at best regarding who was at fault. Claiming to have the answers from afar is nothing more than what social media has evolved....arm chair experts. Nothing more or less. If I am allowed to speculate from the cheap seats, my guess is that the behavior of a select few made it difficult on the entire bunch, and given the experience of the coaches and officials, I am comfortable that the best decision was made to shut it down with the game well in hand....moving on to next year. My further guess is that following, some smart people will evaluate and look for improvements for future games. Bigger issues in the world than this one....
  8. Shaking my head. Those are very good men as coaches on those sidelines. At least one of them is a sure fire hall of fame coach that will be on a very short list of one of the best this state has seen. Unless you were there, on those sidelines, observed what was going on between coaches, players and officials, your are speculating at best. (I'm being kind) As far as you handling the situation, I have no doubt in your mind that you are definitely the answer.
  9. Were you present? On the sidelines? Nothing like assigning guilt from the cheapseats....then again, pointing fingers without any involvement is what social media has become. Of course, you would have handled it far better and nipped it all in the bud.
  10. I was thinking the exact same thing Muda. Perhaps Bob and I had the same English teacher....or maybe our teachers were related!!! 😁
  11. Simply sharing from MaxPreps. But since you brought it up, what are you trying to say?
  12. I was just kidding with you. I can see a conflicts with other sports coming into play... Growing up in a rural part of the state before consolidation, there was only one choice if someone wanted to play football. And that was to attend the "city" school. Those smaller schools were fierce rivals in other sports such as hoops. I don't think it would have worked during the fall to merge a couple of those schools together to play a single sport.
  13. Is the Columbus PAL still leading the youth efforts? Would love to see them back in the IEFA.
  14. Wasn't really pushed "to the brink" CG 14-0 end of Q1, CG 21-14 at half, CG 28-17 end of Q3, final CG 42-32. I guess one could call it interesting....that's fair. CG was always in the lead...Warriors did cut it to a single score in Q2. https://www.maxpreps.com/games/11-11-2022/football-22/center-grove-vs-warren-central.htm?c=GZx0bn6BX0mF7ez2iwZznA#tab=recap&schoolid=
  15. CG's main test was the opening game of the tournament at FC. (serious underdog) Was coming off the week of their tough loss at the end of the game against Cathedral. Don't remember any other serious tests in the tournament for the Trojans.
  16. No doubt about Cathedral and CG’s schedules. Tough opener for the Trojans in Ohio.
  17. Man, beyond frustrated....AD made decision about lack of resources without even discussing it with the city. Why do I think his department received a nice check to move the location of the Super Regional, putting his team on the road? BTW, media interviews with local hotels determine accomodations not the issue. https://www.wthitv.com/news/i-wish-it-would-have-been-a-collective-community-decision-city-leaders-former-isu-players/article_9750d2e6-04a6-11ee-b03b-f374dad58e58.html Listen to president of the university...dumps it on the AD. Again, never talks with city officials about staffing needed to pull it off. https://www.wthitv.com/news/isu-president-addresses-controversial-decision-to-withdraw-bid-to-host-super-regionals/article_09c51104-04c3-11ee-afd9-c76aa8256a7d.html Really disappointed in this administration...they sold out their team. BTW, when is the last time ISU has made the sweet 16 in anything with an opportunity to host a major event that would have exposed the school all over national TV?? Nice call jackwagons!!
  18. Isaiah Rodgers looks to be in a world of hurt....... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/06/06/isaiah-rodgers-faces-potential-banishment-from-the-nfl/
  19. I understand the importance of hosting the annual Indiana Special Olympics event. I just can't get my arms around that its an "either/or" proposition. Now the baseball team, that earned the right to play at home, has to go down to TCU and win 2of 3 on their home field to earn a trip to the College WS. Nice job admin.
  20. While this isn’t an ISU thread, such a bummer Sycamore’s lose out on hosting the Super Regional. They had earned it!!
  21. I agree. He was in no way chirping or trying to show up the other team. Simply celebrating with his teammates. I guess a rule is a rule...but not sure why he needed to be ejected for both the current game the infraction occurred and then the next contest. Seems excessive. He was not even allowed to go to the ballpark to cheer on his teammates. NCAA at its finest...certainly a handle on priorities.....
  22. Now its all evened up with UK after the Wildcats administered a spanking to the Hoosiers yesterday. How did people feel about former CG standout Tyler Cerny's ejection that included the game he was playing and the next game? I guess its a rule, but seems harsh. Not sure it makes a difference in a 10 run blowout. Get it done today Hoosiers!!! How about the other really good baseball program in the state? Indiana State University hosting their first regional and winning it, going 3-0 in the series and taking down the Iowa Hawkeyes twice??? March On you Mighty Sycamores!!
  23. Ahhhhh...the down vote from Muda. Way too serious.....although predictable. Bob....I am sure glad you appreciated my attempt at humor.
