  1. I'll agree..... now, if he can learn to read defenses, make sound decisions and execute........
  2. Fantastic baseball commentator. Seeing some great photos of Tim during his playing days as a catcher with StL and Philly....photos with Gibson and Carlton
  3. Fair enough....now I choose to leave a conversation that obviously has no direction.....
  4. πŸ™„ Can you name one program that has won 37 straight titles or are you just having a slow day? I am truly not sure where you are going with your comments.
  5. Great comment...it was a true paradigm change. When CG joined the MIC at the time Coach Moore started, most people thought CG was crazy and could never compete at that level. In 2000, they made it to the state finals, and by 2008, won their first title. But a vision of achieving something never close to be realized in their past, along with hall of fame coach building the program and changing the culture took the Trojans to a completely different level. Can that recipe not be replicated for other sports? Even the Cubs finally won a world series!! What football team ever has? Is program success only defined by 37 consecutive titles? Bottom line, CG football is considered as one of the elite programs in this state. They were nowhere close when they first started the journey with a new vision.
  6. So you cherry pick one sport and make your case. Brilliant. BTW, a CG diver just won her 2nd straight state championship. Also, given their natatorium, they may not beat Carmel much in the future in swimming, but I bet they hold their own. You tell me...does Carmel, Warren, Cathedral, Ben Davis, etc still have top notch programs after they had excellent head coaches leave or retire? Coach Moore is a legend...no doubt. But he will remain close to the program after he retires, will have big time hand in the replacement, will ensure his pieces still function and one of the best feeder systems in the state will keep chugging along.
  7. yea...because he built a program that is not sustainable?? C'mon. You do realize CG does pretty well at a number of sports, right?
  8. I see it more as musical chairs. Carmel and CG were tight knit pals leaving the MIC together for a brighter tomorrow in the HCC. HCC said "no", I believe more because of Carmel. MIC is scorned and kicks both out. Carmel doesn't see HCC on the horizon and realizes MIC may be only conference in town to take them. So, distance yourself from your main competitor, ensuring you get one of those spots. Distancing yourself pleases the majority of the MIC, so that's what they do. With hat in hand, they are allowed back in the MIC. Without CG in the MIC, they mop up. Lot more trophies in the case back at the mansion. It has to be much more than a single bball game in which their own coach screwed up royally with his behavior.
  9. Go to the 1:30 mark if you don't wish to watch it all. Rich Nye report from WTHR
  10. Reich and Wentz coming from Philly didn't stick. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm??
  11. 100% agree PHJ. The video can't be debated. He sends his players around the students as he should, but instead of following them, turned to his left and pushed his way through the kids, making contact with a number of them. He totally instigated the incident. And Carmel admin uses this event to push for separation from CG, claiming CG admin didn't punish a kid enough who received a 3 day suspension for pushing the coach back AFTER the coach made contact with him first? It makes zero sense. There has to be more at play here. Why hasn't the IHSAA stepped in if Carmel admin is unable to hold their coaches to a standard? I have my thoughts, as I guess so do many others. Carmel looks very bad in this case....and it would seem they are willing to do anything to separate themselves from CG and win their way back into the MIC. I just hope the CG admin starts making demands of Carmel or escalates this to the IHSAA forcing their hand. Totally unacceptable.
  12. Didn't remember your name and does it matter? You can read and figure it out. Regardless, it didn't matter to me. BTW, I understood what you stated and implied the first time. So you have insight as to how all the MIC school administrations feel about Carmel AD? Good for you...guess you are "in the know"
  13. No disagreement....so call it consistently. Don't allow muggings earlier in the game with no calls and then flag a ticky tack at the end of the game impacting it. Not a hard concept to understand. That is not speculation or irrelevant.
  14. Interesting enough, Center Grove's leading diver won the state championship for the 2nd year in a row. The junior finished 2nd her freshman year. Next year she will be a senior, and it would seem she won't be competing against Carmel.
  15. Yea, he fessed up...it was holding....but as minor as it gets. Smith-Schuster was not impaired in running his route and showed no emotion like he did earlier in the game when he was held (at least in mind) with no call. Guarantee if we go back and look at tape, we will see much more egregious levels of holding that was not called. Sometimes its not a matter of being right...its a matter of consistency. The official that threw the flag for something very minor and not called consistently during the game , basically ended the contest and took away a chance to see a magnificent ending. But yes, technically his call was correct. One former NFL DB indicated his failure was to wear a black glove. Had his glove been white up against a white jersey, he predicted a non-call. The color contrast did him no favors. Thought that was interesting.
  16. I have been out of town, but reading much about Carmel's plans to drop CG from all athletic competition. If this is truly about the basketball game with the student's rushing the floor, this really has my head scratching. I watch the video of a coach sending his players to walk around the students, yet he decides to aggressively push through the students bumping multiple kids along the way. And this is ok? Why didn't the head coach simply walk with his players? It would seem its the classic direction, "do what I say and not what I do". A 40+ year old man decides to push his way through a group of students in lieu of simply walking around them? And this is what Carmel admin is upset about? Yet they won't comment nor state how they plan to hold their coach accountable for an incident they initiated. So you drop your top rival for 25 years over that one incident? Its ok to have your players running off a field of competition for gun shots at a venue, but this type of incident self-instigated is the back breaker?? It makes zero sense......unless.... There is something deeper....I too believe Carmel is working to distance themselves from CG, to win favor from a number of MIC schools to get re-admitted to the conference. There is something more going on here. 25 years together competing and can't even reach out to their rival school to discuss like adults? Blind side with an announcement to the same school that stuck besides them when attempting to join the HCC? But hey...as one long time GID member (just happens to be a BD guy) praises the Carmel AD for being such a swell human being recently in a post, indicating that may be enough to get Carmel into the MIC. I honestly thought it was a joke at the time of his post, given it would take more for the state's largest school to get re-admitted to a conference they had scorned a year later, than simply having a "likeable" AD. Now I am guessing he had more insight that I realized.
  17. First we lose "Big Tom" Callahan a few years ago, and now Tom Brady. It will never the same..... #legends
  18. You didn't....but sometimes an intentional omission is in itself a statement. You mentioned that Carmel may get MIC readmission consideration because the AD is such a good guy. My question to you is admission to a conference for the state largest school (by far) a little bit deeper than if one major player is a nice guy?? Admittance is based on whether an AD is "liked" or not?? One school is admitted and one is not based upon AD popularity? That sounds more like a country club without rules. That is your comment that I am asking you to expound a little more.....
  19. Sitting in the stands for some many BD vs CG games (at both venues) over the years, I sure hope that series continues. While at times each team has ran off a few in a row, it has been a great series for quite some time. Some incredible games over those years in the regular season and the playoffs. Would love to see CG and Roncalli bring that game back. 2 major southside programs, with huge gates. Roncalli has a number of kids that come out of White River township that attend a number of local parishes including St. Francis and Clare.
  20. Not insinuating anything. Asking HIM to elaborate on his comments. I wasn’t clear as to what he meant. I’m sure Mr. Inskeep is a great guy. How does that factor into 6 high schools deciding the state largest high school be admitted into their conference?
