Because of the current controversy. During regular season, especially winning non significant games….not as much. Declining TV ratings are an important metric. That’s why they have to get some bigger games. Remember, not a hater, but kinda get it…
-
The path of least resistance did work in 2024. They played one ranked team during the regular last year #22 Army. But they only lost 1 game last year…this year they lost 2 with very little margin. Had they lost 2 games in 2024 with that very weak schedule, they most likely don’t make it either. They are a single team with an unshared NBC contract. That is a huge advantage. (Dollars, exposure, recruiting)

It’s a forum in Indiana and there is controversy. Probably not the same attention on a forum in Alabama, Florida, Utah, Cali, Carolina’s, Texas, etc??

Your ACC example kind of proves the point…ND was half in half of a conference they feel is the path of least resistance. That strategy bit them this year.
-
I don’t care if they don’t join a conference. I don’t think it’s right s single team has a contract with a major TV network. But don’t complain when you don’t get the quality of wins needed because your schedule is lacking, you lose your two best quality games on your schedule and you are left outside looking in.

That's debateable about whether a G5 school should have a seat at the table. If you don't allow them a chance, then let's call it the P4 tournament + 1 independent (ND). Here's a differing perspective https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/jmu-tulane-and-other-g5-schools-belong-in-cfp-no-matter-what-espn-says-180654232.html The formula allows 1 G5 school to be selected amongst the number of non-P4 conferences. The ACC did it to themselves with their own formula allowed a 5 loss team to play for the conference championship. Had Miami played, they would have either been in as conference champs or would have been eliminated most likely with another loss. If Miami wins, they are an automatic qualifier, and knocks out a G5 school. (would have had their normal 1 in the playoffs) and ND has a slot. Conversely if Miami plays and loses, most likely they finish behind ND and ND is in. So the ACC has to own their process. As does ND...they not only elect to not be in a conference, but to be "half in-half out" of the ACC for football. They play 5 games in the ACC, and it just happened that the ACC was down this year. ND beat up on a bunch of bottom dwellers. So their overall SOS was poor, and they lost their 2 biggest games, including Miami which put them on the wrong side of the tie breaker. ND wins one of those 2 games, they are in. So ND has to own their destiny and be accountable as well. They win, they are in. They join a conference and are successful, they are in. (especially one of the stronger P4's) They didn't do either, so they have to look in the mirror as well. A 16 team tournament would eliminate this from happening, but ND needs to challenge themselves with conference membership and or playing a tougher schedule. ND wants their cake and to eat it too....they want their own TV Network and not into sharing revenue. OK...but that comes with risk. This time, things didn't go their way. Blame the selection process, blame the ACC process...but ND has to take a long look at themselves. They are not complete victims. BTW before I get labeled as a ND hater, the Irish are my second favorite college football program. I wish they were in as well.

Seeing reports on Dillingham. Guess will see if confirmed.

Nothing humorous about a player ending his collegiate career in that fashion...especially going into what would have been the biggest games of his career. Being a senior, this will have a major impact on any chance for him to play on Sundays. Had you ever played the game at any level, you'd have an ounce of empathy. I didn't see another single person on GID post that they thought what happened to Stephen Daley was the least bit funny. That is an island you are on alone. Another example where you lack insight directly related to never playing this great game. Heck, even the NY Times had more empathy. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6879460/2025/12/10/indiana-football-injury-celebrating-stephen-daley/ Good..because its well-deserved you hapless hack

Making jokes about a young man’s injury. You sure got me!! You are the winner!! 🏆

Second one. AD under pressure
-
For folks to decide accuracy. Person posting on X writes for the NY Post. Has Moore been released from jail yet??
-
Guess so towel boy. But beats being a consummate argumentative 💩
-
Sorry…don’t see humor of making light of serious injuries. The young man did nothing wrong and nothing different that countless players do after every game greeting fans in the stands from the playing area. Dreams were crushed for a senior that had more than paid his dues. Big blow for Indiana’s defense.
-
Not sure what that has to do with Michigan losing a committed 4 star recruit, most likely related to what’s recently occurred. Young man’s dreams crushed and a team takes a blow as a result of simply greeting and celebrating with fans in stands following a program’s historic victory. Great classy humor…..🙄

You lost me….Rivals now not a credible source.

I don't have the energy to get in one of your constant battles....I am going to continue to bait you with social media...I hope you learn to roll with it.....it's called having fun...try it. As Uncle Tito says.....
-
Moore remains in custody...would assume he has the funds to post bail. Guessing no one willing to help him out?? Does look like prosecutor still determining whether to file criminal charges. BTW, I consider ESPN a pretty solid source Temp. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47277170/fired-michigan-coach-sherrone-moore-custody-no-decision-charges

Hey Mr Obvious....because I share something on social media, doesn't mean I believe any of it as gospel. What you somehow fail to grasp, is that my motivation for sharing this is to get your goat. As usual, mission accomplished. Its called having some fun on this forum....I understand which sources are more credible than others. Perhaps try and running with it instead of taking the posts literally.
