  1. Interesting interview
  2. No surprise…..
  3. We shall see about the Mendoza brother, but it is that critical? Any outstanding QB is headed out after year 3 anyways, assuming that the checks are big enough to keep him there from his frosh year. It will be interesting to see if Cig believe in Mendoza 2. I am seeing IU mentioned in the Leavitt and North Texas QB running. (always wonder how accurate) But after watching Mendoza 1, I can see how really good experienced QB's may be looking at IU and Cig for the development needed to ensure serious interest by the NFL.
  4. Sounds like an awesome day!!! Memories Coach!!
  5. Coach!! See my questions in the Bears thread!! Give us an update on the experience!!
  6. Agree..and I’m torn to be honest given they’re not impressive SOS. But they looked darn good against a solid BYU team.
  7. That’s fair… but over time many programs do go up and down. I bet we both remember not THAT long ago when Oregon was not a PAC 10 power. A number of powers of yesteryear are not today. I remember after Bryant, Bama was up and down until Saban. Penn State is not the same program of the Paterno era. I agree it’s tough to be in the selection few that sustain.
  8. I can agree ND would be up there. FPI ranking of 4 I believe. I might add Texas Tech to the list.
  9. UGA faced a tougher schedule to get better as the season progressed. Big difference with their respective SOS.
  10. ???? They lost to a SEC team at home. Your comment kind of sounds delusional. Would ND be a competitive team in the playoffs? Sure. Lock to win it all….hardly.
  11. I have mixed emotions.....TTU looks awesome on D. Strong SOR and FPI, but their SOS was the worse of the 12 playoff teams minus JMU and Tulane. Just wonder how that plays out when they face Oregon. They did destroy BYU and they had solid numbers. Will be a fun one to watch.
  12. Busted again! FYI understand the spelling...just chose not to add the ' Just like the choice to speed on the interstate...sometimes we get by with it, sometime the police stop us.
  13. Please tell me you are not doing this now......Cmon!! One spelling and grammar policeman is enough.....
  14. Coach!!! You saw a nice W Sunday! Give us a recap of the game. Did you come back with all your fingers and toes? Thaw out yet?? I was watching the game, hoping you were on the side of the stadium that had sunshine and not in the shade.
  15. Back them, there were way more independents...those 2, Syracuse, Pitt, West Virginia, BC, Army, Navy, BYU, Cincy, Florida State, Miami, Rutgers, etc.
  16. I am going to sleep just fine tonight Temp....er, I mean Finebaum.
  17. As a young guy, IU was always #1. I wore Indiana football shirts/sweatshirts and people would ask me why. Guess I needed a winner and always followed ND...mainly as a result of family members. After college, moved to the east coast and got hooked on Penn State with some friends...saw them play at home and on the road several times, before they even joined the Big 10. Knew nothing about scandals in those days and Paterno was an incredible coach. Obviously sickened me as to what happened. But I still follow them. But a huge gap between them and IU. Try to see the Nittany Lions any time they travel to Bloomington and planning a boys trip next season to Happy Valley when they play Minnesota. LOL...can't stand Duke, Lakers or the Yankees.....
  18. Penn State is my 3rd favorite program. Besides IU, have seen a few games in both South Bend and Happy Valley. Have this famous print of Rick Mirer and Reggie Brooks looking into the Penn State Defense in my basement. Loved the old rivalry these teams used to have years ago
  19. You've seen it!!!
  20. not sure what I am agreeing to...if I am agreeing that one doesn't need to be a grad to be a fan, then I am onboard.
  21. Your "two year flash in the pan" was a comparison to another school, correct? Or you just chose to select a 2 year time "out of the air"? If the latter, sorry about your confusion.
  22. I hope not all....that would only be 12 teams for the post season...soon to be 16. There can be some other outstanding matchups outside the top 16 in FBS. I agree Tech looks incredible defensively. Assuming Oregon beats JMU, the TTU vs Oregon game will be an interesting one to watch. Not sure the Big 12 provides the team speed Tech will see in Oregon...and the quality of QB.
  23. Considering the Colts were a 14 point underdog, I would agree. Kept the Hawks out of the endzone. But still kind of painful to watch. Kudos to Rivers courage...but the poor guy just can't throw it very deep. But impressive he was out there and throwing a TD at his age with just a few days of practice.
  24. Well...if Wikipedia is accurate, both programs started in 1887, so both are 138 years old. Now if your reference of a long storied history is winning only, the Irish absolutely get the nod. Just saying both have been around a long time.
  25. Are you a Michigan man? Walmart Wolverine? If being a grad of said school is necessary to support their football team, that would eliminate 95%+ of ND fans and about 90% of Ohio State fans. (unless mullets are the choice of hairstyle for OSU grads) I am not an alum of IU...neither degree from there. But grew up about 20 miles from Bloomington and started watching games at Memorial Stadium as a kid and throughout my life. All 3 of my children are IU alumni, so my investment there has been fairly significant. Does that count?
