  1. The older looking guy on the far right in the jacket playing "pocket pool"???
  2. ...and the thread has been hijacked into the same old discussion......
  3. The Daily Journal reporting Coach Moore retiring as track coach end of this season. Excellent article called “One Final Lap”. Congratulations Coach!! What an incredible ride!! Coach Moore will continue as varsity football coach.
  4. I think they more than exhausted in-state possibilities. I believe the series with Fort Wayne Carroll start next year, and I believe BD and Warren are back on the schedule. Hopefully, LN, LC and Pike will remain. Cathedral series has been recently renewed. I am not sure about the out of state series next year. Trinity and CG seem to be enjoying the relationship they have built.
  5. I know nothing about HP. Just glad they are playing the Trojans this upcoming season.
  6. Kudos to the CG athletic department and football staff for their efforts to secure a full schedule for their kids and program. Thanks to the 4 Indiana teams and 5 out of state teams to schedule the Trojans. The schedule is a very tough one. Hopefully it pays off!! Trojan Pride!!
  7. Looks like both suppose and propose can work with the situation referenced. https://hinative.com/questions/13888713 https://wikidiff.com/propose/suppose https://comparewords.com/propose/suppose But if I had to vote Temp, I would have to go with Gonzo's choice in this case. But that's just my personal preference. I certainly understood your comment.
  8. Photo seems a little “vain” to me…. Don’t forget to tip your waiters….
  9. +1 Way more creative than "life isn't fair...get used to it" stance
  10. You don't understand Temp...that gives Muda the opportunity to start his other thread criticizing teams that win by large margins. The Beast feeds itself.....
  11. Doesn't mean that collusion should be the preferred way to run any organization...public or private
  12. Following your logic, CG should be just fine, as 5 in-state games were originally scheduled. They have zero control if 2 of those schools change their minds once the schedule was established. (one for purely $$, one for politics) No penalty for schools that fail to honor their original commitments? You find that acceptable? Interesting...your system would competitors to determine if schools are "in or out". A great way to eliminate your main competition. Politics rule!! Long live collusion!!
  13. the life isn't fair response (in my opinion) is intellectually lazy, (no offense intended) unless one can confirm no other options exist. You being close-minded to those options (such as playing schools out of state) doesn't mean they shouldn't be explored. A path to wisdom is also being open-minded and considering all alternatives. Your arbitrary selection of 5 in-state and 4 out of state schools being acceptable, just not the other way around is logically perplexing to me. 4 out of state ok...5 out of state not ok. Other high school AD's think they should be punished in football, but not other sports....other sports in which they are also very competitive and have also won state championships. Should other HS AD's have the power to determine if CG does not get the opportunity to play post-season and defend their title? According to your logic, 5 AD's can, but not 4 AD's. Do I believe other schools should be "forced" to play CG? I think its case by case. I understand BD to a certain extent dropping CG for a season to play IMG. Do you think a school should be allowed to drop an in-state school to play an out of state academy for money? (football factory) In the case of Carmel, yes, I think the IHSAA should quit smooching Carmel's buttocks and made both schools resolve their issues. This was purely a political move by Carmel and the IHSAA chose to play the game with the Greyhound administration.
  14. Would CG football be such a "pariah" if they hadn't won 3 straight 6A state championships and 4 straight trips to the 6A state finals? Why are teams scheduling them in every other sport, but not football.? So you believe they should be punished and unable to defend their state title through no fault of their own? No more quotes about "life isn't fair"....that requires next to no thought. that is a complete mistatement. They do play other IHSAA schools in every sport other than football. And their desire is to play in-state school for football. They are resorting to out of state to try and build a 9 game schedule.
  15. I am an angry guy that lacks integrity. OK....You must be a true peach during dinner time conversations. Your deliberate attempt to label people that have a different view reminds me of a politician or the average 15 year old on Twitter. Enough of following you into your rabbit hole. How about I just consider myself lucky that you don't lead the IHSAA or I don't sit at your dinner table? Can we agree on this? BTW, thank you for the life lesson...😄
  16. you came up with an arbitrary 5 game in-state number to be able to play in the post-season tournament. Whether I agree with you or not on the that number, my point is that CG had an in-state schedule of 5 in-state opponents, until 2 of them balked very late in the game. I will also reiterate that its a good thing your vote doesn't count. Get used to it.
  17. Go back and read my comment again. CG didn't run away from any Indiana high schools. Just the opposite...they had to work their tails off looking far and wide to fill their schedule. Perhaps you should ask Carmel why they took their ball and ran home, opening up a game originally scheduled for week 2. Or why Ben Davis dropped CG for IMG (out of state) in week 4. And while any CG fan hope that playing a far tougher schedule than even their normal tough schedule bears a return on that investment for the post season, it certainly does not guarantee success in the playoffs. I think you know this...
  18. I can't open your link....and while I like Kyle's stuff, its not enough to get me to subscribe. I guess thank goodness only the IHSAA's contention matters..... I don't think CG is running away from playing in-state high schools. Their schedule this year will be as tough as it gets by being forced to look outside the state to field a schedule.
  19. $179MM guaranteed....70% of the total extension amount.....not bad...not bad at all. https://images.app.goo.gl/Y2fuF9z7wygKu1iX9
  20. I am only going on experience with Indy burb schools....but I am open if you can show many soccer rosters filled with boys and girls that didn't play travel soccer.
  21. In a way, it is. To play competitively at most Indy burbs schools, boys and girls have been most likely playing in both local rec and travel leagues for extended periods as a youth. Not cheap and requires some extensive travel. While unfortunate, that isn't an option for everyone. Unlike Brazil, there are not soccer fields on both grass and concrete all over inner cities and in rural areas.
  22. Nice article with comments from UCLA coach Chip Kelly about Carson Steele https://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/story/2023-04-06/ucla-football-carson-steele-zach-charbonnet
