  1. Penn, Elkhart, and Lake Central all have 3000+ students with the first 2 being in the top 10 in terms of enrollment. Crown Point is just shy of 2950. (just one spot down from Brownsburg) Is that not enough students?? If not, how many do you need? https://legacy.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/ihsaa/documents/quick resources/Enrollments & Classifications/2022-23 2023-24/2022-23 2023-24 Football Alignment.pdf In addition to CG, I also provided Westfield as an example in a previous post. They have went to the state finals the previous 2 years, with very little resistance in the northern bracket. This year its Carroll. All of these schools are showing its about the program and numbers are not the only variable. If it were, Lake Central from past years being in the top 5 enrollment would have been much more successful on the gridiron. Can't use private schools? Hogwash. Most of them have have feeders from given parishes. And the success factor has the successful program punching up and out of their enrollment class. Feels like an excuse....
  2. Recent years? State Finalist in 2000; State Champion in 2008. Been to semi-state 13 of the last 15 years. I'm not sure I would call Eric Moore and CG's body of work something recent.
  3. The MIC has been ranked consistently over the past number of years as one of the top conferences in the country, and their success is the state tournament is well documented. Now the HHC has caught up. Outside of 6A, Indy schools such as Cathedral, Chatard, Roncalli, Lutheran and others have a history of success. Is this type of evidence arrogance? Enrollments? CG is playing in their 4th straight state final as the #17th largest school. Last 2 years, they played Westfield in the state finals…18th largest school. Carroll is #20. Tell me again about enrollment advantage. Feels like this thread has really been hijacked….any chance we can talk about Friday’s game??
  4. You go get 'em Coach Rudy....I mean Rodney.....
  5. Why so fired up about predictions? The game will be played Friday night. Enjoy the ride….
  6. Just one man's opinion, but I put very little stock in outcomes of previous games. The playoffs are all about winning one game at a time...just win...anyway a team can, and winning in different ways truly shows a team strength. Bottom line, Carroll is in the state championship game...they must be pretty darn good....darn good. Their win over HSE is flat out impressive. I do put a little more stock in schedule strength. If you compare the 2 teams, CG has the advantage of playing tougher opponents. I hope that matters when "push comes to shove". CG won't be impacted of playing at Lucas....been there 6 of the last 8 years. Does that matter after the kickoff...probably not much. But hope that is a slight advantage for CG. Prediction: Slobberknocker. Let's hope all the kids stay as healthy as possible this week and during the game friday night.
  7. For one week anyhow. Don’t see 2-7 a recipe for any type of sustained success. But, hopefully he improves in the passing dept.
  8. Acts like JoJo the Circus boy. Would be great sometime if he acted like he expects to win.....
  9. Do you really think IU can afford $30M to buy him out?? Maybe...I just don't think the recipe for a Power 5 QB is to go 2 for 7 passing in a game will lead to much success. I hope he proves he can actually pass the football. If not for special teams and for a found running game, they don't win that game yesterday against a mediocre team.
  10. As someone who grew up in the 812, I would call this a north vs central championship game....😉 BTW, congrats to Carroll...great win over an excellent HSE team last night.
  11. Didn’t paraphrase a word. Your comment is out there for all to see. Making fun of my profile pic. That’s the best you got? Game, set, match. Jealousy is unbecoming dude. Your candle doesn’t burn brighter attempting to blow out the flame of others….
  12. Congrats Warriors!! How about that Johnson County football?? Go get it Whiteland!!
  13. Cathedral opens up game with a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. Trojans score 33 unanswered points to win 33-10. Not sure if anyone predicted that outcome. Congrats Irish on an excellent season.
  14. Not elite huh? 4 straight 6A state finals. 6 of last 8 years. BTW, Junior Trojan program shows great promise? Do you know how many IEFA state championships that program has won? Congrats on a nice season!!
  15. 33-10 CG over Cathedral 4 6A state final games in a row
  16. When I think of IPS schools for football, I always think of Broad Ripple. School produced at least 2 NFL players....the late, great Stacy Toran and more recent Rosevelt Colvin, 2 time SB winner with the Pats. I think Colvin played in the mid 90's.
  17. Watching the academies play football is a trip back in time. True vintage football. The triple option/veer they run in absolutely classic football.
  18. Yet they played a final 4 team in the sectional final (Carroll) and they were only down 13-10 at halftime, and 20-10 at the end of the Q3. They lost to Carroll 34-17, but absolutely played them more than respectively and competitively. Warsaw more than represented in the sectional final and that performance illustrated through their play on the field that they belonged in that game.
  19. and it illustrates why I think you proposal has serious flaws. Warsaw was 7-2 and wouldn't have qualified under your proposal. They won their first game of the sectional and was respectable in their loss in the sectional final to Carroll. They finished the season 8-3, playing 2 post season games, including a secional final. We shall agree to disagree that eliminating teams like Warsaw makes Indiana high school football a better experience.
  20. Wasn't Warsaw a sectional finalist as well? Lost to Carroll I believe. Earlier, I showed you using Sagarin, they would not have made your top 50% in 6A.
