Losing Thomas (TE) is a huge blow from a talent and experience standpoint. He was a big weapon, although IMO waaay under-utilized the last two years. He should have touched the ball at least 15 times a game.

I missed all but the last segment, so I really can't say. In talking to Coach Hurley, Dan Egierski referred to comments made by Luke Ellspermann, so Luke was evidently the player interviewed before I tuned in. What I heard was mainly Coach discussing offense personnel and depth.

As to the Mighty Panthers, you have to think this needs to be the year they finally get something done in November. Sectional 24 got a little easier and the Regional will look much different without East Central.

Yep, I heard Castle looked pretty solid. McCool is likely going to be the best RB in the SIAC. BTW, I didn't take a picture last night but it appears Enlow is pretty much done. The new turf looks great.

The old turf at Enlow is gone and the new turf is being installed.

I drove past the stadium last Saturday after the baseball game got rained out. The stadium looks great. They could use a larger visitor's are, but overall it will be a great additional to Jasper's already incredible athletic facilities. And BTW, during the radio broadcast of the regional baseball game on Monday, the announcer said Jasper's Ruxer Field is going artificial turf for next year?? Is that true? That really surprises me because that field has always been darn near pristine.

With 68 sectional titles in one class basketball, Lincoln was a long-time beneficiary of a very weak sectional. They were the literal big fish in a very small pond with North Knox, South Knox, Sullivan and Rivet. Things have changed since the advent of multi-class basketball - only 4 titles since 1997.

The IHSAA is not equipped to handle any additional oversight / enforcement of more rules. Personally, I don't see HS NIL as having anywhere near the earth-shattering impact as its had in college athletics because there just isn't the revenue. The NCAA & colleges have made millions off athletes, but that isn't the case in HS athletics as most schools & programs are lucky to break even.

Maybe we won't have to haul locker room fans as part of the travel equipment anymore. 😃
