Assuming GS can take care of business vs Mt Vernon this week it would pretty much be a guarantee that it’s coming down to that matchup. im really curious to see how their defense matches up with GS. They have held their opponents pretty well outside of a very strong linton team but I think that game turned into optional defense in the 2nd half. They held a very strong SR group to 13 in their loss too. A loss is a loss…but that game was 13-0 so they were holding their own

I would include Vincennes And Tri west for the south. Owen Valley also still undefeated but idk if I think they could get over any of the 3 north teams you mentioned also Guerin can’t be overlooked considering how much of a fight they gave Chatard.

Especially considering the many similarities between the two. I think the SAC is a slightly larger but overall they have similar dynamics of a mix of school sizes with private schools in the mix, based around small cities that are secondary to Indy The two conferences having a similar setup of being closed off for football is just the icing on the cake. Practically sister conferences if you will

Carroll at 6-0 in 6A and only 50th is very puzzling. more puzzling is how the SIAC has that SoS ranking. That SoS for the SIAC is basically like saying the SIAC plays the equivalent to a low 6A schedule and that’s simply not the case

The last 2 years the SIAC has been pushed down on sagarin for their rankings. This year they seem up a lot…especially when I’m looking at Vincennes. They are very good this year but they are currently ranked higher than Chatard, West Lafayette, and Gibson Southern in 3A. Reitz is listed as #9….which….maybe….they look awfully convincing this year and 4A is up…. but I’m not convinced they can beat Memorial and I’m not sure anyone is pounding the table saying this memorial team is a top 10 team in the state. when Memorial was a top 10 team in the state a few years back they were steamrolling their way through the SIAC and Reitz hasn’t been that level of dominant. i think the postseason will fix sort this out. 7 teams in the top 67 overall….which is basically the top 20% of the entire state. Something is going to give for sure.

I’m pretty certain maxpreps and calpreps have the exact same rankings. Their ratings and SoS are both the exact same

Updated Maxpreps rankings 6-0 teams as low as 21st. 4A might be the toughest class but 3A is handling business so far

I’m honestly just ready for Princeton next week haha. between 3 5A schools in the first 4 weeks and now going through SR/HH/ and now Mt Vernon, as a fan I just want a week to relax a bit
