  1. That’s an insane stat. 4 carries 4 TDs and a buck fifty in yards. Lord was he the 2nd or 3rd Mr. football from CE?
  2. I have your answer Brady played 40 of 60 possible quarters apparently. Assuming he played 60 quarters at the same pace his stats would have been around 6,375 passing yards 87 passing TDs Glad he didn’t though. No sense in running up the score. Up by 35? Put the backups in and Run out the clock.
  3. Imo Tier 1: Columbus East Tier 2: Memorial/Mater Dei/Heritage Hills/Reitz Tier 3: Gibson Southern/Southridge/Linton I’m probably forgetting someone so don’t think I’m trying to disrespect anyone lol. Just the teams that come to my mind and where I have them stacked
  4. I watched some highlight of him and oh lord is he a big man who moves. OL a tough one this year 2 Notre dame guys and then Goodwin who might just be the biggest high schooler I have ever seen
  5. This list is just the top 50 for the state and not the individual all state selections for 1A-6A. Don’t be like me a few years ago and ask later why someone isn’t on both. you can only be on ONE list. Either the player is on the Top 50 or they are eligible to be on the 1A-6A all state team…but not both. If you don’t read this you will be fodder to the rest of the forum 😂 anyways…. Offense Defense congrats to everyone!
  6. Didn’t even realize they did positional awards for this but congrats to all awarded. I would like to add that Ashton Craig has also been nominated for the “man of the year” award by the All American Bowl.
  7. I think the main concern with Rory is that he has the grades….he performed on the field at an incredible level and led the state/nation in the receiving categories. There were plenty of college coaches/recruiting personnel who have seen him play….especially with Brady at the QB….good size…good athleticism. being a later breakout in his HS career probably hurt a little and he probably missed on a few camps. Someone else said something about how Covid years of eligibility have really strapped programs for the number of scholarships they have to offer. Maybe it was on this thread or somewhere else but looking on Twitter at all the kids getting offers. None of them are 2022 kids unless they are JUCO. edit: it was this thread I should have scrolled up lol
  8. Oh I’m not that foolish. GS can stay in 3A too lol
  9. Looks like South Warren is the KY 5A state champs after another dominant win @vicvinegari see you laughed at my previous comment about wanting to see them play cathedral and being a contender. Any comments now? 5A vs 5A….indiana vs Kentucky…14-1 vs 14-1
  10. There is going to be a huge learning curve on NIL deals. Some kids are going to make out like bandits for nothing…others will get underpaid severely. it will take some time but eventually there will be some kinks worked out…and probably 10 pages of conditional agreements/rewards lol
  11. I just hope that Wimsatt stays put at Rutgers he did the same thing as ewers
  12. Hasn’t even been a year and the major media is reporting that ewers is looking to transfer out
  13. I don’t know any of them except one. His older brother was a 4 year starter and just finished up his college career. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. Kid looks bigger than what I am lol
  14. Outside of state I can’t say I have seen much of curry outside of what film there is out there and I just watch that cuz I’ve been following him like the rest of everybody for a few years. He is deserving of the award….but we know where my thoughts on that are. as for the SoS. Calpreps certainly doesn’t lend favors for the argument I have made but maxpreps and Sagarin do. going off of calpreps though…Columbus East….a few other notable schools with similar or less SoS…if GS was in 5A with the same schedule nobody would be saying a thing. This whole SoS thing against GS is kinda BS. I’ve laid out time and time again on here how it wasn’t a bad SoS….the responses have indicated they don’t care…still 3A…despite beating Brebeuf too. Just a lack of credit to the opponents GS has faced is all.
  15. 1) “listen here buster” -You 2) agreed, too bad you haven’t seen him play and are tiptoeing around that 3) your personal opinion does not matter here as there are computer ranking and actual matchups that prove you wrong. 4) Only a fool of a coach would have their blue chip talented QB play defense when you have 80 other kids who can play. It’s the QB position…let not pretend like that isn’t a factor into not playing 2 ways or special teams. 5) then don’t use 28-0/Back2Back as an argument for Curry. It’s a team achievement. THE ONLY REASON IT MATTERS FOR THIS DISCUSSION IS BECAUSE FOR 3A SCHOOLS OR SMALLER YOU HAVE TO WIN STATE TO EVEN GET A NOMINATION. That’s it. If you’re not playing after thanksgiving you have absolutely zero chance at winning this award. It’s been said that if Brady were to have a chance he needed to win state. He led the team to that goal. For the discussion of this award, that was his ticket into the conversation 6) (I’m a former player and played DL) don’t try to play the wise man after talking out of your butt in numerous comments previous to this. I think I can understand how not everything shows up on paper….but when the other candidate had the 7th most passing yards in the country and 2nd most passing TDs this season….and arguably the best season statistically for a QB in Indiana history….on top of breaking 3 career QB records and finishing 2nd in career yards…….well…sorry…you kinda need something on paper at this point 7) your perception of hostility and the need for me to “relax and chill” is a personal issue for you because you don’t know how to respond to direct arguments made back at you and you think it’s an attack….it’s not. Make better arguments and don’t get caught talking out of your butt around someone who will call you out on it.
  16. I just checked and maxpreps has them at #9 also. Has to be Chatard/West Laf/Memorial as the only others in contention for that. I would argue that 3A is pound for pound the toughest division for Indiana football. Every year there are a handful of good teams dishing 4A/5A/6A teams big losses…outside of Cathedral in 5A…the best 3A teams could probably contend for at least a runner up in 4A and 5A every year @hhpatriot04this makes me think about something for the algorithm….Sagarin has I believe a pretty linear setup for the differences between 1A and 6A…but that’s not how it really plays out. Top of 6A -> LARGE GAP -> 6A -> 5A/4A pretty dang close to each other minus if Cathedral is in 5A -> Top of 3A not too far behind -> rest of 3A/Top of 2A -> Top of 1A ->rest of 2A and 1A I don’t know if it’s even possible to make this a thing but it’s generally how it plays out. would be really cool if someone was able to source from Rudy’s website/maxpreps and have a computer run the numbers of how teams have faired between the divisions….probably just keep it to post 6A expansion. From there you would have an actual metric to plug into the algorithm and it would help rank teams accordingly.
  17. ….it’s in the quoted comment. People acting like CG having only* 8 D1 kids over the last 2 years and saying that it’s not that many and it’s normal. And then acting like those players are not that good because not all are P5 schools….as if any of this is supposed to give credit to Curry. it would basically be like if CG is your boss….and then they told you that they get a check every 2 weeks just like the rest of us. my comments don’t necessarily apply to you though @Grover. I’ve found you to be probably the most reasonable CG fan on here. My comments are more at the others.
  18. I’m not nearly smart enough to know where to start on an algorithm for rankings…..but I do know it should include out of state opponents if possible. it’s probably the 1 major downfall of Sagarin ratings and Sagarin gets it pretty dang close
  19. Someone correct me if I’m wrong on how Sagarin calculates SoS though. I think I did the math right but not entirely sure If my math is right….I don’t see how anyone could argue against the GS schedule…..that’s a 12 game sample for that SoS and most teams don’t even get to play 12 games…and it doesn’t even include South Warren who is looking like they are going to win the KY 5A championship.
  20. 57th of 318 doesn’t include South Warren who is playing for the KY 5A title Rating of 63.53x15 = 952.95 if you take away Washington (6.83) and princeton (28.2) you get 917.92. It’s a 0 for South Warren if my understanding of sags SoS works. 917.92 over the 12 remaining games thats a rating of 76.49….which would be 19th in the state….that’s a schedule tougher than Roncalli’s schedule for 12 games according to sags…and it doesn’t even include South Warren
  21. Speak for yourself lol cuz I clearly just read someone trying to downplay having 8 D1 players instead of 10 and saying that was normal….and pointing out that not all are P5 offers like that matters. definitely not ignoring the team but nice try at trying to flip my argument back at me…won’t work. I have been nothing but uplifting when it comes to the surrounding team at GS…..every year. I don’t think you have watched Allen that much this year because he has had to throw on the run and evade pressure so many times….that’s what happens when you play a 5A+ schedule as a 3A school. In the state championship game alone there were probably 10+ passes completed just because Allen was able to extend plays and then put the ball exactly where it needed to be. The play of the game was him throwing a laser on 4th and goal from the 21 yard line in between 3 defenders right at eye level for the receiver. Couldn’t have been thrown better and it was the go ahead score This is how I KNOW you didn’t watch Gibson Southern or follow that much. GS put a running clock on all but 3 opponents. Allen played the 4th QTR of like 4 games total….played only the first half of probably 8…..if he played the full game every game, you would probably be looking at a 6000 yards 70 passing TD season….against a schedule more difficult than what most of 5A faces.
  22. 10 or so…..I’m so wrong it’s only 8….omg the horror. CG fans pushing down the rest of the roster to make the case for Curry is all anyone needs to know. Never seen fans discredit the talent on their team for specific player to get an award like this before. problem is, Curry didn’t have the statistical season needed to make the arguments against Brady….which is why we see the arguments framed around team achievements like going 28-0. not one of you has mentioned his actual statistics here…not the 86 or something career TFLs….not his 27 or so career sacks….nope…it’s “back2back….28-0….3 finals appearances”….team accomplishments. Curry is amazing and has produced great numbers…let your arguments be around what he has done.
  23. Allen no doubt had great players around him…including the most criminally under recruited/ underrated WR I have ever seen in Rory Heltsley. It’s honestly to the point that I’m mad about it for him. The GS fan base will probably be more excited if he gets a new D1 offer or something than if Brady were to win Mr. Football. 3 Mr football nominees in 2 years on this Center Grove team………come on man. CG was the favorite to win this whole time too…..winning back to back championships is what was expected when you have 10 or so D1 players on the roster over 2 years.
