On the flip side…having a freshman team as a 3A school or lower is a huge advantage. Creates the solution of “reloading not rebuilding”

Trick play from a football game in 1932

Does this mean teams that throw screen passes a lot are considered old school? also…the behind the back pass is a better pass than I can throw normally 😂 -
State Championship Predictions

I just looked back at the article and either it was edited or misread it because you’re right. It would be the 2nd duo to ever do it. I probably just read it way too fast -

State Championship Predictions

I read in the Evansville paper that there is a chance for a unique feat for 2 of the games. Mt. Vernons Coach Lidy and Gibson Southerns Coach Hart with a win would become the first to be a father son duo of state championship teams in Indiana Coach Lidy’s father winning with the 94 castle team and Coach John Hart with Reitz/Warren central. Hopefully one or both can get the W this weekend…just pretty cool that that it’s never been done before and we have 2 chances to see it happen this weekend -
State Championship Predictions

Soooo 6A columbus north who won Conference Indiana and only ran into center grove 5A New Albany who won Hoosier Hills conference and made it to Semi state before losing to cathedral Kentucky 5A #2 South Warren who is in the Kentucky semi states currently Heritage Hills….twice Southridge…. Opponent records of 86-55….or 86-42 if you take out the losses they received to GS ya know what. I hope it does show because hats off to the coaches & administrators for making this schedule what it is. We played a damn good schedule and faced numerous great teams. It’s come a long way from facing mostly 2A schools a few years ago to what it is now…which is a schedule that is on par or better than with most of what 5A is -

3A SS South Gibson Southern vs Tri-West

What if I told you the north posey kid was a kid North Posey got from us and that he had lived in GS school district this entire time? Owensville kid who use to hang out with my brother as kids…but chose to go to north posey for the first 2 years of HS before coming back to the SGSC. it sure does help the enrollment numbers when the kids in district stay in district -
3A SS South Gibson Southern vs Tri-West

Well you need to talk to Hurley and tell him to hide the magic when the temperatures get to 50° and below lol if memorial makes it to 5A they are not coming back imo. Outside of a few special teams in 5A every year, 5A is mostly at the same level as 4A -
3A SS South Gibson Southern vs Tri-West

4A is on the horizon based on enrollment. Speculation is that it won’t matter performance wise what GS does, they will be moving up soon enough -
Adding them certainly narrowed the gap. Sagarin has Brebeuf at the 43rd overall toughest schedule and Gibson Southern at 62nd. there is just no way to match having to face Cathedral, Chatard, and Roncalli for a team like GS. But at least this year, GS isn’t at a disadvantage because of their schedule. That’s been the knock in the past but not anymore haha

The 2013 and 2015 teams were pretty identical in terms of names on the roster. I’m still amazed that the 2013 team did what it did despite starting so many sophomores. It’s what helped make the 2015 team what it was. by the time 2015 rolled around there were like four 4 year starters and around 10 or so 3 year starters. Also it’s still kinda funny to me that Nick Sellers (the QB from 2013-2015) was our starting long snapper as a freshman. He went from long snapper as a freshman to QB who went 36-4….and his 2015 season was crazy 73% completion 3300 yards 40TDs AND 700 yards rushing + 19 TDs. next year I think GS will get back to running the ball with the QB more and our current backup looks like he will thrive at the varsity level

Pal, we will have to do this another time. I do enjoy debating old school vs new school with you though. But this isn’t the thread for it haha -
I have been waiting to do a comparison between this years GS team and previous GS teams. I compiled the stats from the 2013 team that ended up losing to Brebeuf at Semi State, the 2015 team that lost to Chatard at Semi State and this years team THINGS TO NOTE 1) Defensive TDs/Special Teams TDs I couldn’t find for 2013 2) The Sagarin ratings at the bottom are the FINAL rankings for 2013 and 2015, while the 2021 team is not the final rankings just yet. It’s only 1 week but worth noting 3) all 3 teams were 13-1 at this point, this years team obviously the only one to advance….but otherwise the stats should be comparable since it’s 3 13-1 teams. 4) Passing stats are the starting QB only not the backups. Rushing stats include the backups because I’m not going to figure out which carries were running clock carries by the backups. There is a lot to pick apart here, but I would firmly put this years team as the best. And while some of the stats for the 2015 teams might say they did better in a few cases, the 2021 team makes up for it in their SoS compared to previous years. This SoS doesn’t even include Kentucky 5A South Warren who is ranked #2 in 5A, #7 Overall, and playing in the 5A Semi State this next week. That’s my two cents though and here are the stats for those wondering

If Muda was the coach, he would be the one to have a QB like Brady hand the ball off 40/50 times a game 😂 -

don’t try to relegate this year’s performance to just “impressive individual performance” it’s been a team effort all the way “We Before Me”….you can read those words on just about every GS fans shirt come Friday….and win or lose, it’s going to be a team effort and a team moment. -
You think Brohm is going to be at the 3A game on Friday? Lol his top 2 recruits of the class facing off against each other…right down the road for him too lol

I think Brady broke another record tonight. Besides becoming the career passing TDs leader, I believe he broke the career completions record. Brady had 735 entering tonight and unofficially has 28 completions to add, making his total 763 completions Career totals + Indiana all time standings 11,520 yards (2nd all time) 675 yards away from 1st 763 completions (1st all time) 144 passing TDs (1st all time) -
