I’m with ya 😂 but if I talk too much smack about Princeton, I’ll be sleeping on the couch and Thanksgiving with her family will be pointed questions asking me how Gibson Southerns basketball teams have done vs Princeton I do very much prefer playing in a tough sectional and having a tough schedule…even if the losses hurt a lot more
-
All fair points. But vincennes and Princeton were in sectional 32, and that’s the biggest point. The success factor moving Chatard and memorial up changed the entire landscape of what it would take to win a sectional if Chatard and memorial were in 3A still 32 would likely still be Vincennes, Princeton, Washington, bosse, Gibson Southern, Mt. Vernon, Memorial and pike central if I’m not mistaken…heritage hills got moved to 32 in 2014-ish once chatard moved up the first time..and then Southridge moving up to 3A + memorial made them redo a lot of 3A. West Lafayette got the short end of the stick too because Brebeuf/Guerin were in 29 before with Chatard. would be interesting to see a table of the 3A sectionals pre SF and seeing where those teams are now in terms of sectional alignment

I once lived in southeastern washington and my middle school classmates at the time would later go on to win a state title I think under 4b which the lowest group and then B group for being joint teams. 3 towns of Dayton, Waitsburg, and Prescott. Had I stayed there into HS, I would have been the 13th kid for the graduating senior class. Entire senior class both boys and girls…13 kids. without that rule and sub classification, there wouldn’t have been football…or maybe not any sports. One of my classmates actually went on to play college ball somewhere in Oregon and then got to play professionally overseas for a football team out of Prague. Crazy how 1 little thing such as allowing joint sports teams can completely change the path for someone’s life

Oh I’m not denying it has hurt the chances of deeper post season runs. And the topic says this isn’t for discussion if it has hurt the programs chances but SR I think is the team hurt by it no doubt. but teams like Vincennes? Danville? Triwest….Gibson So. And Heritage Hills….not having memorial or Chatard has to improve their chances even if the results haven’t necessarily indicated that for some teams like GS vincennes might be the biggest winner of it all for 3A. Because of memorial and Chatard being in 4A and Southridge moving up, 3A south is all messed up geographically. A 5-4 team in 2019 won sectional 30 that otherwise probably wouldn’t have made it out of 32….and tonight…they are hanging tough looking to win their sectional again playing owen valley who is like 10-1?. Tough sled for them but they finished the season at 1-8 and are now 3-8 playing for the sectional title edit: @jetsi think you need to read what I said again because your response doesn’t make sense after reading it again

Twin brothers who are kickers one is a lefty and the other is a righty? that’s honestly just a pretty cool combo. Hate to hear that about Ethan…and yes you guys almost always have a great kicker…hope the Special Teams coach is on the payroll lol even if it isn’t much at all like most HS coaches, that coach is doing something right
-
I read that HH was missing their kicker and was like oh wow that’s a tough blow, they have a great kicker. then I seen that he has a twin brother who is the backup 😂 regardless of the outcome tonight..hoping for a clean game and both teams to come away with no new injuries.

this is why 09-21-2018 Gibson Southern 7 - 31 Heritage Hills 10-26-2018 Gibson Southern 24 - 14 Heritage Hills 24 point win turned to a 10 point loss 09-27-2019 Gibson Southern 14 - 49 Heritage Hills 11-01-2019 Gibson Southern 20 - 21 Heritage Hills 35 point win turned to a 1 point win…and only because of a blocked FG as time expired otherwise 2 point loss 09-25-2020 Gibson Southern 38 - 0 Heritage Hills 10-23-2020 Gibson Southern 21 - 10 Heritage Hills 38 point win turns to an 11 point win 09-24-2021 Gibson Southern 42 - 3 Heritage Hills 4 straight years of 2 matchups a year…and so far 3 straight years as reason to not overlook anyone in the slightest. Credit to @Titan32 for posting all the scores making it an easy copy paste lol

Whiteshoes Top 100
DumfriesYMCA replied to whiteshoes's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Good to see CG in the top 10 at 92….Kimberly Wisconsin….lol i get that they haven’t won a state title since 2017, but they have a 117-6 record since 2013/2014 including 5 state titles and are 11-0 this year they are on par with CG/Carmel/Cathedral imo…they should be in the top 25 but I’m just being picky lol #92 in the nation is phenomenal Edit: they also had a streak of 70+ straight wins and 5 straight state championships and 6 straight appearances -

Oh wow he is looking to commit very early for his position. -
….I mean…I do😂 nobody wants to see 2 minutes of monkey in the middle passing the ball around….shoot the 3/attack the rim as for football…I’m of the mindset of first to 40 wins…if you can do it by halftime even better. Bend don’t break defense is good enough. Let the opposing team panic trying to comeback at a faster tempo than their offense is accustomed to and make mistakes…….as I am typing this I’m realizing I’m describing the last 10 years of the Green Bay Packers which is fitting.
-
Booo all you SIAC fans lol I’m rooting for the kids who pick watermelons during the summers north of I64…which works for both Sectional 40 and 32 lol
-
I think every team wants this in some capacity and HH is certainly well disciplined…I just think that the whole eating clock thing is overstated…and the box scores from previous matchups are all over the place with the last HH win being a game where GS actually won the time of possession 26min to 22min maybe I’m overstating though too and I’m not afraid to admit that if it is the case. the GS offense has been high scoring for a while and it can force teams to play faster if they are down a score in my mind, playing to run out the clock is playing to not lose…and I certainly don’t think HH is a team that plays to not lose
-
I seen that today looking at stats. I didn’t expect to see 2000 yards in the passing category lol
-
if teams wish to take 6 minutes off the clock to score 3 points….I’m okay with it lol Just digging your own grave. but I don’t think that’s HHs thing anyways…they get slack for milking the clock, but the best HH teams are always good at breaking off those 30/40+ yard runs. Would be a fool to think HH cares about milking the clock over points on the board lol
