Also if I’m not mistaken, Rory Heltsley has just become the Gibson Southern single season receiving record holder. again I’m not certain on this but I believe #1 was scheller with 960 in 2013 and #2 was Brady’s older brother in 2015 with 870ish. rory has now gone over 1000 yards on the year. Phenomenal season for a phenomenal kid

3A is always like this. 3/4 team at the top. Any of them can be considered 1/2 👀👀👀👀

This GS MTV game is all but over…but Mt Vernon deserves some praise, they are a much improved team from just a few weeks ago….and Burnett…he might be putting his name in the hat for PAC MVP next year if he keeps working at it….just a sophomore but has plenty more to grow.

I wanna know what makes Memorial great on defense almost every single year lol. Outside of the Lindauer/combs era it seems y’all are always saying the offense needs to find it’s rhythm but that defense is always ready for a battle

I mean regardless of sagarin…going undefeated in the SIAC in a year when Mater Dei, Castle and Memorial are all great…any team that does that is going to be a great team regardless of what computers say This certainly won’t help the SIAC on sagarin though

Wow. That’s a tough one to take. Hats off to Jasper though. 2 years in to joining the SIAC and they went undefeated and won the conference championship. Would have liked to see them advance further, but nobody can take the conference championship away and Jasper showed it’s here to stay in the SIAC

I think Gibson Southern is becoming the favorite to many fans….but kinda in the way Linton was a few years back. People around the state see them winning every year but not winning the hardware…..want them to get over the hump.

3A…really whoever gets out of 32. For dark horses/underdogs you have MT. Vernon, Heritage Hills and Southridge. If you take out the losses to Gibson Southern, these teams are a combined 20-4 Mt. Vernon beat Heritage Hills by 8 points in week 1. Heritage Hills beat Southridge by 7 just a few weeks ago…everyone has their opinions on who is the best of the these 3, but I think they are all pretty good teams and fairly close. For Gibson Southern to win Sectional 32, it likely requires beating all 3 of these teams again. winner from 32 will be battle tested as always….and that brings me to the other 3A dark horse I have Lawrenceburg. They are like 8-1…their QB is like a 3/4 year starter and pretty dang good. And their OT is going to Notre Dame next year. I don’t know much about them but they certainly are a team that doesn’t get mentioned a lot for how well they have played the last few years

HH fans must just absolutely love reading our PTSD moments from games against them lol but that’s what makes it a great rivalry can we send them back to sectional 31?

That one was a tough one to take and still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth lol. I don’t think it mattered though what Coach Hart called….and I wouldn’t question it either, the man has had GS with a top flight offense all 10 years as a HC, so if he says we’re kicking the FG, well that’s that and we try to kick a FG lol. HH had a special team and Sigler was determined…looking back sure it would have been nice to win, but that was HHs year

I didn’t include the games where GS wasnt favored. Last year I believe we trailed both games the entire time? And then there was that Memorial stretch where nobody was touching them. I wish there was something to point at and say “GS should have won this game” but SR just flat out won last year. my point was more about just because GS is favored doesn’t mean it’s a cake walk.

As 7th and 8th graders plenty and as Freshman once. My brother was on the team…but then fell out of a tree broke his arm and then chose skateboarding over football lol. I live in Wisconsin though so I have only been able to listen to the radio/watch on ihsaa/whatever video service since these seniors were freshman. im in Indiana around thanksgiving every year though hoping they can make it back to those November games Because that would require me setting up PayPal again lol.

I’m just saying Heritage Hills in 2014, 2019 Memorial in 2016 2014….14-13 at half…patriots pull out the wishbone and milk the clock dry after running the spread offense all year. we were ranked #7 at the time and the home favorite slightly over #6 Heritage Hills 2016. Lost our QB in game 9…after going 9-0 memorial picked us off 3 times and upset us 29-20. Memorial was unranked but 6-3. We were ranked #1 in 3A pretty much all year 2019. #3 ranked heritage hills. GS was ranked #7…but GS dominated that game for 45 minutes and Sigler had like 2 giant punt returns and great runs for TDs in the final few minutes to take a 21-20 lead….and Brady drove all the way down to the like 5yard line and HH blocked the FG as time expired we all know GS is good… the players know they are a great team…but we also know that if you don’t stay on your toes it can be over just like that. It’s been 6 years since GS won a sectional championship….in part because of how good the teams in 32 generally are….the team, the fans, the surrounding community…we all know it cannot be taken for granted. I don’t care if it’s Princeton all the way in semi state game (why is that a possibility). I don’t think team or fans care either. Just gotta treat every team with the same aggressive desire to win.

It certainly can…and the path to the championship is probably as tough as you can make it for GS. but the team plays with some moxie to them. someone on the team had a good quote a few weeks back about princeton. Maybe it was Rory or lukeman on the radio show or something…but they basically said that they have to keep up the pressure no matter the opponent because they know if they even just barely beat an opponent, it could mess up their confidence and make the following week harder trying to get all that confidence back. I thought it was a good comment

I like my bank though it’s just PayPal I have problems with….which PayPal is an outdated financial system in today’s world I could send the money so fast if the gridirondigest just had a Facebook page or a simple normal pay window…but since it uses PayPal or check it’s just too much of a hassle for me lol

He’s closing in on a number of career/seasonal accomplishments this year. I believe he has the GS all time passing TDs record…he already has the yardage and completions…he’s nearing sellers single season TDs of I believe 42 set in 2015 also super close to 10k yards and will pass that up on Friday and I think he is 16 off of the IHSAA career passing TDs this season is truly a cherry on top to an amazing HS career

I’m not sure if this is really a hot take or not…but I think Chatard beats Roncalli they lost 21-28 earlier this year and Chatard has 5 straight wins coming into sectionals im not even sure where Chatard and roncalli stand for the playoff picture…I assume they are in the same sectional…but yeah I think Chatard gets revenge and throws the entire 4A bracket off. lost by 5 to Brebeuf 10 to Warren Central 7 to roncalli 5 dominating wins since losing to cathedral…I’m not sure roncalli is a lock
