It’s gameday safe travels to all of the Southridge folks making the trip to Ft. Branch tonight

As a Gibson Southern fan….I hope CN wins this one…..just so that the sagarin ratings go ballistic and put GS way too high on the rankings 😜 will that happen? Probably not… but I’m hoping for it lol

So is Southridge still running the wing T/option? I know some here think this one is over before we even play, but you still gotta play the game and Southridge has shown to be technically sound and can beat anyone even if they have to start smaller players….see a few years ago when southridges DL and OL were much smaller than GS but dominated the LoS. Think this game will be closer than others think…and will be a nice test for the defense staying on assignment. I think so far we have faced teams that use the spread more so getting to face what I assume is the wing T will be interesting…especially with HH right around the corner with ole faithful, the wishbone lol

Short story is someone is saying the LT for GS is playing dirty for some odd reason and everyone else is just like “doesn’t look like it…just looks like a great player who is pancaking guys” and he took a shot at the refs for apparently missing what he is only seeing…which is why bobref joined in

Is someone complaining about the ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKE SPECIAL being put on every week? Lol ive watched the film from so far this year….it’s been great. Doesn’t look cheap or dirty at all….looks like a kid locked into his job and putting defenders on their backs. also….we have seen plenty of times in the past when GS players get a little chippy….from what I can tell it has been a class act this year…I don’t think we have had 1 unsportsmanlike conduct at all this year. I think of that center who was on Chatard in 2015? think he went to cincy….but man was he aggressive off the line. From go he was all about winning his matchup

The biggest take away I had of South Warren was their ability to pass rush from every where and just keep pressuring. I believe Brady was sacked 6/7 times last night and one was that brutal blindside that resulted in a fumble. Titans OL has been big for years and this years group is one of the best we have had…and it just didn’t matter. South Warrens DBs were also impressive and were on us like glue which only added to the pass rush because Brady had to hold onto the ball longer…especially since South Warren was all over the screens forcing us to push the deeper throws more often….which usually work just fine. defensively I thought a lot of what GS did was pretty good….some of their big catches were crazy considering they were smothered and still made the reception…we forced a turnover and were generally good against the run…just hard when you are punting the ball away and they get a return that makes it a short field repeatedly. but man….that defense for South Warren was impressive

36-0 south Warren 2nd Qtr running clock in effect Two 3&outs to start 2 fumbles a number of other punts south Warren offense just too dynamic and before you know it, the score is 36-0 at this point it’s all about how do we respond to this for GIbson Southern.

I love the PAC….but lord I know better than to believe 8 of the teams are top 64 teams in the state. Sagarin rankings are going to take some time to adjust I think

Apparently they run a similar offense to what GS does they have a D1 QB who is 6’5 they have a D1 playmaker coach said on the radio show that they run a spread offense with numerous different formations and alignments. at least from what it sounds like, it seems like GS is looking in the mirror this week. For what it’s worth, Coach Hart said last night on the radio show that this South Warren team is up there with some of the best teams we have played and said they are comparable to that memorial team a few years back in terms of talent….which is very high praise South Warren won the 5A state championship in 2015 and 2018 so it’s a great team culture no doubt I definitely feel like GS can win this game no doubt…but it’s interesting because the scouting report says they are basically on the level of what a team needs to be to win on thanksgiving

For me, curious more than anything this might be a team better than Columbus North and I think Coach Hart said last week on the radio show that they also have a number of D1 players. this should be a big time game and depending on the results, we will know how good GS really is….we have seen a lot but this is another big test for the team

I just seen that Mt Vernon has 5A Jeffersonville scheduled for this week thats a game I’m interested to see how it finishes out

GS looked how they should have looked last night. big test this week though. Kentucky 5A South Warren out of Bowling Green ranked #3 in 5A ranked #11 for the entire state of Kentucky according to maxpreps. (It was #5 but they lost to a team from TN last week and are 1-1) the game is at South Warren and I don’t think they played a game this week so they will have had 2 weeks to prepare for this game

Ehh I wouldn’t think on the GS score vs Washington too much. GS is the heavy favorite but I think most people just want to see if GS has learned from their first 2 weeks and can play to what they should be playing stay healthy and move on

Let’s just not overreact to anything so far teams not expected to win getting wins is great and are worth noting. but great programs losing a few early means nothing. it would be like saying “Chatard is 0-2, is this the end of an era?”

Center grove….the #1 team in the state by a wide margin….I’m sure their backups are pretty good lol

If it helps Gibson Southern is currently ranked #4 in the entire state and above teams like cathedral and Carmel lol

I mean it was week 2 and they played a top 2 3A team and top 25 team in the state….a team that beat chatard and has a 4 ⭐️ kid who trains with Robert Mathis. let’s not overreact to their loss

Another impressive win final score GS 63 NA 24 offense went 9-9 on drives for TDs and contended very well with the speed of NA….which seems very promising for this season going forward
