  1. Does anyone have word whether both boonville and GS have found a week 9 opponent? I know they agreed that they will play each other unless they BOTH find a week 9 opponent. Going into week 7 figure maybe there would be some word of something if it was going to happen. personally would still want to face boonville as a GS fan. Give us a big test to see how much we have improved since the first matchup
  2. 2012 Gibson Southern trailed Charlestown in regionals 49-21 At half and won 56-49. At the time it was the largest comeback in state history I believe I also recall that 2/3 years after this Game Center grove pulled off a larger comeback to win.
  3. the titans did much much better tonight. Build on this and continue it on into next week! Congrats to Coach Hart on the milestone.
  4. This is a typo right?!? 😅
  5. This. after seeing the Southridge GIbson Southern game. Couldn’t agree more Gibson Southerns OL is averaging 6’3 265 across the board and their DL they have at times 2 kids that are 6’2 280 and 6’5 310. Watching the game they were very very clearly much larger than the Southridge OL/DL..it didn’t matter at all. The smaller SR OL fires off fast and aggressive and had good form to allow them to run at ease vs us. And while the GS OL is very very good, Southridge was able to create enough pressure to stall out drives and make enough stops. Thinking on it, there is one player I know who didn’t really see the field all to often during his time at Gibson Southern (I believe he has since graduated) and I believe he was about 6’4-6’6 310+. Kids that were 6’ 230 started over him on OL and DL. Not a knock on this kid but sometimes those smaller guys just want it more or it just doesn’t fit the scheme all too well.
  6. Okay that’s what I was thinking. I just thought the use of the word option and not mentioning the wishbone was strange.
  7. Princeton clarion article on the game says you guys are running an option offense? is it still the wish/flex or is it something new? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone or any news refer to heritage hills as an option team.
  8. agreed. The 2013 GS team rolled out a bunch of sophomores as starters (granted they were really good) and that 2015 team was something super special...look at Tell City now too. Shoot I think some of those guys have been starting for 4 years. Obviously it’s not ideal but I think good team with tradition can handle it. This is also why practice is so important. Those underclassmen practice against the seniors every day. Gotta make the most of those reps just in case your number is called on.
  9. Interesting. I was thinking about this after seeing the other thread about success at younger years vs the same school systems being an indicator for the future. it would seem to at least hold true here. obviously a lot still plays into this but interesting none the less
  10. Curious. Does anyone know how this current GS senior class did vs Southridge as 7th, 8th graders, and freshmen?
  11. I have to believe that GS not being able to travel this offseason really put them back on defense. Don’t know if our pass defense is bad but that’s probably because teams don’t pass much vs us...but I think the secondary/LBs in years Past have really benefited from going into the year having everything in place with hundreds upon hundreds of reps. Feels like this year they have had to scramble to learn both the run and pass against a tough schedule to open the season.
  12. This week is going to be interesting vs HH. I know most teams including GS usually pull out a specific defense to stop the wish/flex bone and GS has shown their strategies to work. But at the same time the defense is struggling to stop the run. i think GS scores 35 at least. But how much will HH score. Should be a good game to watch
  13. I understood his statement on radio as to him being a student DJ and him having the theme for the week when he was a student (I assume he attended Heritage Hills) listening to the radio I just got the idea that he was there in the late 80s and played welcome to the jungle for one of the games and it stuck...this was only a 2-3 sentence statement he made in air and I don’t know if he actually attended Heritage Hills..but it’s at least how I understood it.
  14. No arguments here offensively GS is strong enough they should definitely be ranked. But defensively they should be unranked at this point. so #10 seems right
  15. Depends on how much they sub in and out really. I would say it’s mostly minimal....BUT watching the broadcast. When they put Braden Tucker in on defense that made a massive difference against Southridge. Southridge had to resort to end arounds more with him in there and the only times Southridge stalled out and what not was when Tucker was in on defense. but I only seen him come in occasionally...situational substitution basically....beyond that I’m unsure. Tucker plays RG and DT
  16. If it was the stream on tristatehomepage then yes you heard it....something about him being a DJ for a game or something and he went with that theme for that night and it stuck. I have no idea if any of it is true. But it’s what he said
  17. Something has to change with the defense....scheme....personnel....play calls...I don’t know. This offense is elite with Brady. Can make all the throws and just march the team downfield. The one 28 yard pass to Murfin was a thing of absolute beauty. The team can score on anyone I believe... but the defense....something is just not right. 5 games in and teams have rushed for.....393, 325, 437, and 383. we have 4 more weeks before playoffs to get this fixed otherwise we are basically looking at trying to just win shootouts....which don’t get me wrong, this offense is very capable of doing....it’s just not ideal. put up 350+ yards vs a great Southridge defense..still not enough...and it’s simply because Southridge is a great team. Great offense....and a great defense that did enough to just stall out a few drives and capitalize with a rushing touchdown soon after. the stops in the redzone just before half to preserve the 27-21 lead were crucial...opening half with another score...forcing 2 turnover on downs in the second half....just a solid effort by the raiders in facing a great offense and just making the most of important situations. So good they didn’t need to force a turnover. Just played solid. btw that gasser kid looked great tonight. Man does he have some wheels. on to heritage hills who has to be licking their chops. Gotta step up this week!
  18. 3A looks to be super close this year again....outside of Chatard who I’m sure we can all agree is probably a step above the rest.
  19. Quiet week even though this weeks slate looks packed with potential for great games. I do enjoy that this year with the new alignment that a wider variety of teams are finding success. Through 4 weeks I would say the PAC as a whole is the big winner.
  20. As a big stat nerd I would love nothing more than for all HS teams to accurately report all of their numbers every week.
  21. 3 of the top 4 from indiana i pulled a screenshot since the formatting above is a bit rough to read
  22. Yeah they certainly try to be more balanced of an offense than what the stats make you believe. maybe about the same/a bit more than what a typical Southridge team will try to pass the ball...run focused still but have enough pass game to try to keep ya honest.
  23. Maybe the message GS put out was only for the visitor side. I just interpreted them selling at the gate + standing room only tickets just meant that there would be no limits. a little confusing if they are expecting stand room only tickets to sell but are limiting their seats. but then again navigating a football season during Covid is confusing too haha
  24. Good question! I believe someone in the offseason gave an answer but I can’t remember it now lol
