At the ripe old age of 25 I think I have written maybe 5 checks total in my life and only mailed 1 which was the earnest money to buy my house lol I guess you can say that donating to the grid is as important to me as buying a house because it’s the only time I’m going to mail a check 😂 stay tuned. I mean lower yardage sure but not anything bad 20/37 for 211 yards, 1 TD 0 INTs vs Columbus North 20/37 for 171 yards, 1 TD 2 INTs vs Whiteland 11/16 for 88 yards, 4 touchdowns 0 INTs vs Washington Totals so far 51/90 for 470 yards 6 touchdowns 2 INTs. i think the Washington game really deflates things with only 88 yards...but hey when it’s 49-0 at the half and you have a pick 6 With a good run game i can’t really say they should have thrown it more. That would just be padding stats lol

I think for most of us GS fans it’s just that we have been down this road so many times year after year. We Temper expectations and just know that come playoff time the team will be a very strong one. especially this year where Covid and a large graduation have left things uncertain in the early goings. That and Boonville is a good team. Can’t expect GS to beat them like we just beat Washington. i agree though. I do like the enthusiasm from others about this GS team

Let’s just see how it plays out vs Boonville. GS has shown improvement each week. But this week is the first opponent GS will face that is similar to what we would expect for good playoff teams in 3A. Can’t rush to judgment when the only win is vs a struggling Washington team. I think the game finishes out at like..... 42-28 GS with a late 4th quarter touchdown to seal it but otherwise a higher scoring game that is reasonably close

It’s all of south GIbson. Elementary/middle schools too. might be for the best if the players don’t have to intermingle with everyone but rather just those playing the same sport.

160-180 SoS is very very generous lol. I believe most of the PAC has been playing a 220ish SoS according to sagarin. At least that is what I can recall over the last few years. deeper playoff runs definitely boost that metric for the PAC. Agreed otherwise that the PAC has shown SoS isn’t everything. Sometimes you are just a really good team that can compete with everyone in your class

Something that may be worth noting this week....Coach Hart has the chance to tie the great Jack Jewell for most wins all time at Gibson Southern should they come away with the win vs Boonville. Of course this doesn’t take into account that Coach Jewell also coached at Ft. Branch High School before consolidation happened to create GS. I think he had 120ish wins total including Ft. Branch. Just thought it was interesting considering this is only year 9 with Coach Hart and he is knocking at the door of this achievement. Big game this week with Boonville. They are a good team. I don’t have a twitter but on Friday nights I check the grids twitter to see some scores I’m curious about if they are not in the scores thread.

If this is true I hope other school ADs/coaches see this and refuse to schedule them. Just ridiculous. cancel for Covid, nobody will have any issues with it and everyone will understand. cancel because you rather find someone else closer to you than honor your end of a 2 year contract....absolutely no respect from me on that

Is it really off? Because I’m seeing Southport vs Columbus north is being played this week and I haven’t seen anything about a cancellation besides just here. At least nothing put out by the schools/local media...maybe it’s still on?

Predictions are definitely all out of wack right now. sagarin has Southridge as a top 10 team overall in the state. Nothing to take away from them as they look to have a great team but being ranked in the top 10 overall is very very high for a 2A school playing up. Basically being put with the likes of some of the best Chatard teams of the last decade being that high up. generally I have seen the top 3A teams (outside of chatard) ranked somewhere between 20-64. again not to take away anything from Southridge. Just that at this point for this year we have to use the good ole eye test and know a thing or two...rankings don’t have the answers yet and probably won’t for the first half of the season

You guys graduated 21 of 22 or something and like everyone else were left without much of an offseason. It will take some time and I’m sure the leadership will establish soon enough with the tough start. One of the kids will step up for the entire locker room soon enough
