  1. I respect his opinion when it comes to college ball and nfl most the time. But not so much his wild ideas in this sub forum
  2. Guys. We should stop.... ”iNdIAnA IsNt a FoOtBaLl sTaTe”
  3. Besides the ones @MHSTigerFan mentioned and outside of the pocket of Indiana... Tyler Eifert. (I believe FW dwenger??) Jaylon Smith FW Luers Zach and Nick Martin Chatard Scary Terry Mclaurin cathedral there are so many more but these 5 are some big names we should all recognize who currently play
  4. All PAC schools have their schedules finalized for 2020...and I imagine mostly for 2021 too...but maybe something can happen tell city would need to drop Perry central/Tecumseh/spring valley to make it happen https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/12/03/pac-football-schedules-have-bit-different-look-2020/2596416001/
  5. Believe it if GS were to lose to Columbus North, Southport, and owensboro in close 4 quarter games I would not be worried. if they are bad losses that’s a different story. first 4 games the average enrollment is probably about 3 times the size of GS
  6. @Irishman had a fantastic comment yesterday in a thread under “next level” on this.
  7. It will be interesting to see if we keep them. What I’m hoping for is another close game whether GS wins this time and both programs agree this is a great matchup to keep. Truthfully I wouldn’t even mind if GS goes 1-3 to start the season as long as they are improving and playing the games close. There is no hiding what GS is trying to accomplish here....it’s all about being battle tested heading into the playoffs.
  8. Charlie no doubt should win it. He has a career of excellence on top of another massive season. At this point. I think it’s about making sure some of the other truly special players get recognized and get a nomination. Make no mistake. This is spegals to win all the way.
  9. Brock combs should be nominated I usually don’t like to say this but without Brock combs memorial is not the 4A champion. I know this is a team sport and there are 10 other guys...but... They might not have even made it out of sectionals tbh. Every Friday I was seeing insane highlights. He had a magical post season... 5 games 500 yards rushing 6 touchdowns 26 total tackle...9.5 TFL 4.5 sacks 1 INT...for a touchdown. 1 Forced Fumble 7 total touchdowns ...this is a guy who had 70 yards rushing prior to the playoffs. Not sure what caused the switch to lean on him as a RB all of a sudden but it worked. just an insane amount of contribution he gave to this memorial team on a truly special run
  10. Gibson southern IN- Washington 3A, Boonville 4A, Mt Vernon 3A, Columbus North 6A, and Owensboro KY 5A OUT- Tell City 1A, Forest Park 2A, South Spencer 2A, Pike Central 3A, North Posey 2A KEPT- Heritage Hills 3A, Southridge 3A, Princeton 3A, Southport 6A off the top of my head, I believe Average enrollment per opponent will go from about 630 to 1100. I think this is only the 3rd thread today where I shared this 😂
  11. I think most of the smaller schools wanted away from HH and Gibson Southern. Will not knock anyone of those schools for wanting a smaller schedule....as for boonville....wellllllll. Yeah. 😂
  12. Another one would be John Adams the AD for Gibson Southern who hired Nick Hart at age 26 to take over. Hart obviously had the resume of being John Harts son, being the OC for numerous top offenses year in and year out for Warren and being a successful player. what’s interesting is both Coach Hart and Coach Ralph have been the two winningest coaches as of late. Although still young into their careers, they own respectively the 1st and 3rd best win % of coaches in Indiana currently with at least 50 career wins. #2 is the Pioneer HC ( 0.945 at 52-3) #4 is West Lafayette ( 0.837 at 77-15)
  13. 😂😂😂 true but that was back when the SIAC was like all of Southern Indiana
  14. Terra haute is wayyyyy too far for Siac. Shoot Vincennes was looked at as too far by some but that was after booneville backed out which meant Gibson Southern couldn’t join. as a GS fan I love our new schedule a lot with the new PAC. But. I can’t help but think playing 5 SIAC games and getting to choose 4 out of conference games would have been a lot more interesting.
  15. I agree. Always nice not knowing much about the opponent and learning about a new program or learning what they are up to at this time. as for 4A yeah. I think more than anything, the success factor has taught us that there are still 5 classes in Indiana. 4A/3A are pretty close when it comes to football. Obviously people favor 3A more but really any year now they are pretty close. for memorial. Their sectional in 4A is their conference tournament now. It was almost before but now it’s pretty much locked in minus booneville. If memorial were to move up to 5A they have a simple path. Be the best in the SIAC again. Accomplish that and win 1 more game (regionals) and they are onto 5A which....honestly if they were to make it. They might not return back down. SIAC competes with terra haute very well usually winning if I’m right. And there is castle. it’s almost a scary thought that memorial could be in 5A and stay in 5A with only 600 kids
  16. I agree with both points.... @DT. Your point really hits home because I was just looking the other day and Archie Manning is a freshman QB for a school in NOLA....so much publicity already (like bronny James only Archie is performing) what’s going to happen when he declares his school of choice? I am willing to bet there will be some 5 star WR and OL guys who will try to immediately commit to that school. Why? Because you will have a Manning for a QB and if you’re any bit of that 5 star ranking, you will get the attention from the nfl guaranteed.
  17. Glad someone made an article. I really wish GS and Princeton would have their matchup week 9. Perfect way to end the season that way. Kinda like how HH and south Spencer we’re meeting up until now. overall I think these schedules will make for a more balanced PAC. next year will be an exciting one. btw. Anyone know of the ALL PAC will be ALL of the PAC or is it going to be divided too.
  18. Impossible for Memorial now or any SIAC school. they moved to 10 teams with the additions of Jasper and Vincennes Lincoln. With that, all Evansville schools no longer have an out of conference game. best hope is to see Chatard move up to 4A again and then hope that Memorial doesn’t move up to 5A
  19. I could have swore I typed a 2 there. Whoops.
  20. This year GIbson Southern played Southport and I love that addition. if you count Southport as new being this year was the first year, Gibson Southern will face 6 new teams next year compared to their current schedule, only keeping the other 2 top PAC teams and county rival Princeton. Otherwise it is 5 minus Southport my two teams would be Southport and Columbus North. If I can’t select Southport lol I will go with Owensboro KY
  21. Probably worth noting that Gibson Southerns Schedule next year is a monster step up. any big year vs this schedule should absolutely be considered a breakout imo current schedule is Forest Park 2A South Spencer 2A North Posey 3A Southport 6A Princeton 3A Heritage Hills 3A Pike Central 3A Tell City 1A Southridge 3A (playing up)
  22. Always guys to step up but Murfin this year was pretty good. Had 500 yards I believe which was 3rd on the team. He will be returning Current Sophomore class has a number of receivers too. my concerns with next year are with replacing the defense we lose. (Seems to be a problem every year lol and we usually get it figured out). obviously a lot of guys to replace but we return 3 OL a top WR and Brady. RBs always get phased in the year before so I think we will be good there having seen what he did this year for us
  23. If we are talking about breakout in terms of putting together a run.... Brady Allen at GIbson Southern. OBVIOUSLY he has already broke out onto the stage and has been there his first 2 seasons. but Gibson Southern hasn’t made it out of Sectionals, with losses to Evansville Memorial last year (56-28) and Heritage Hill this year (21-20). Allen works hard in the offseason attending top camps too and there was a noticeable jump in play this year. He has a good slate of things this offseason including the all American combine in San Antonio. Hoping he takes his game up another level. again he obviously isn’t a “breakout” candidate in most senses but he could breakout into a new level of play that puts him in the top of his recruiting class nationwide
