Even though Noblesville returns a lot of players, AND they are opening what looks like a fabulous new stadium, I still think it will be very difficult to beat the Marauders. I like Mt. Vernon 31-21.

"He has been rated as the 9th best linebacker in the country by ON3 in the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) program. and estimated to have a $142,000 valuation this season"

1. It is hilarious, but not surprising, that when Bobref points out that '69 was probably Munster's best team, HHFDT points out that the '70's were "a different era". By a single year! 2. Only one school made this list based on a one year record....... solely because Mark Bless won't give HHFDT the time of day. That is all.

Look for the Broncos to move to Bentonville, AR soon. The indoor stadium will be shaped like a giant warehouse. The 50-yard line exclusive seating with service to your seat will be known as "Sam's Club".

Why are Avon Sports Downtrending?
Staxawax replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Everything that has been posted has truth to it. But, one bad year in football IS NOT a trend. Basketball has not been competitive since we've lived here (2 sectional championships since 1970ish). Softball, volleyball, boys track all have recent state titles. Let's revisit this in 5 years. -

Sorry for barging into your hotel room, but I just thought I’d side with temp on this one…. ND and Mich are in pretty much the same boat…. and I think you meant bi-annually, not semi-annually.

Who would you kick out of conference?
Staxawax replied to Whiting89's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Since this post Collier surprised everyone with a home run hire in Thad Matta. All but one of the current roster stayed, and he was able to recruit to fill the holes to compete next year. He also was able to hire 3 great assistants and support staff. He didn't do that on the current budget. Someone up the ladder finally saw the light. Butler increased it's BBL budget by millions. They will be an upper half team in the Big East consistently with Matta. -

For the record North Central has more state tennis titles (boys) than any other school with 20, the last being in 2016. -
Petitioning to play up a class

Yeah, a defending state champion wanting to move up in class to avoid potential opponents. Right. -
Blue Bloods - Indiana High School Football
Staxawax replied to BTF's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
With the implementation of the transfer portal AND NIL, the definition of "Blue Blood" will be altered drastically. Student athletes basically getting a free pass to transfer from one program to another without sitting out.... and the same student athletes signing NIL deals that sometimes rival pro contracts. College programs will soon offer, whether it's public or not, a deal that athletes looking to transfer will be able to choose which school solely based on the worth of the NIL deal. Which means all those payments made by school supporters that used to be under the table, can very easily by made legal within the parameters of NIL. -
Blue Bloods - Indiana High School Football
Staxawax replied to BTF's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Yeah you shouldn't be surprised by Avon being off the list. Never won a semistate, never reached the top. If you expand to 30 years they were a small school power under Jim Kaiser in the 80's, consistently winning 8-10 games a year and dominating the Mid-State. But fell short in 2 semistate contests. Years they were in the conversation about being a state contender: 2004, 2005 (although Warren was a hill no one could overcome), 2010 (lost regional to LC and Tre Roberson), 2015 (probably their best shot.... beat Cathedral in 2 ot's, lost in semi to Center Grove in 2 ot's), 2019 (ranked #1 for a majority of the season and undefeated until game one of sectionals). Harrell has a nice compilation of team records over so many years. Pioneer leads the state for the past 10,15,20 years. No better definition of a blue blood than that. http://scoreboard.homestead.com/football/yearlyrecords.htm#loaded -
Doyel: The transfer portal is fair, just — and completely out of control

...... and all could be put under the "playing time" category. -
He has tweeted he belongs on the football field and can't wait to get back to his teammates. (my assumption is this is too early for April Fool's, so I'm going with IT'S TRUE!)

21-22 DOE Enrollments
Staxawax replied to HoopsCoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Sending Noblesville, HSE and Fishers up 69? So Homestead will be hosting all 3? There is a chance Homestead would not even have a home game. A very good chance. So it's not 3 teams going north, it's Homestead going south. -
6A/5A schools without turf
Staxawax replied to AW0352's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The answer is no. But, having read the wiki article, it is used for much more than football. Basketball, volleyball, non-school events such as car shows. -
Never said the players weren't greedy. But as you've already been shown, very few you would label greedy. We know what every baseball player, from rookie league to the majors, makes in salary. We don't know as the laws currently stand how much the owners make. And they hide this purposely. If it ever got out, the players, all of them, would be making more. Plus the owners for the most part have managed to hide much of the profits from uncle sam. And no, I'm not pro-union.
-
Owners don't want to give up that cash cow. Even though their greed is at the heart of this, they will eventually meet the players on the owners side of the middle. And, after a season of anger from the fans, all will be forgotten.
