  1. You might as well had Westfield beating Carmel so that your HCC bias is 100%!
  2. My god what Ben Davis pulled off last night! They have to be sky high but LC must be totally dejected.
  3. No love for Avon? They're peaking right now! 😍
  4. Wow. Avon gets their 1st win, 27-20 over Zionsville.
  5. Zionsville scores on a halfback pass :11 in to the 2nd half. Orioles 20 Eagles 17.
  6. Yeah. Full disclosure I’m here to watch the band, but darn, a good football game broke out. Avon scores twice in :40 and with 2:17 left in the half it’s Avon 20 Zionsville 10.
  7. Avon 7 Zionsville 0, 1:16 in. Avo 7 Zionsville 7, 1:31 in.
  8. HSE 35 FC 21 Bburg 51 Millers 6 (possible running clock) 'Rocks 24 Fishers 21 Zville 28 Avon 24 I think Avon will get their 1st when they travel to Noblesville the following week. And, if they can draw Pike in sectionals, a possible 2nd win.
  9. I am in agreement with your picks. Just want to point out that Avon has been in the game each week until late 2nd qtr or halftime. Then the opposing defense adjusts and they are done.
  10. Not much action on the HCC thread. Just when they "might" be challenging the MIC for strongest conference. I'll give Avon a little more motivation considering it's homecoming: Fishers 31 Avon 23 FC/Noblestucky- this is the most difficult game to predict. The Millers at home should prevail... but they won't. FC 28 Noblesville 27 The big one at Brownsburg (until week #9) Dogs 38 Rocks 24 Zionsville played very well on both sides last week. But HSE is tier one in the conference. Royals 24 Zville 14.
  11. ...or, a Brownsburg DB made a great play in sticking his fingertips on the ball to break up a TD pass.
  12. I think you are being a bit too kind to Avon. F C 41 Avon 21 Brownsburg is indeed a "Top 4" team in the state. They will play like it. Bulldogs 31 Fishers 17 HSE had Westfield beat in Sectionals last year only to give up a last minute drive and a game winning FG. I think HSE will be ready and the Rocks just aren't the dynamic team this year. Royals 24 Rocks 20 Zionsville will survive at home with their defense. Eagles 27 Millers 20
  13. My bad, my math was off. He graduated HS in 1980. So he's 60 years old. I don't think he wants to retire, but unless there are things beyond his control I agree he may be moving on. I had heard last year that Danville had 4-5 starters that came from Avon. And they were state runnerups. We shall see...
  14. Yeah your dates are off but I get the point. They were ranked no.1 and were 9-0 heading into sectionals in 2019. Upset by Brownsburg in the 1st game. Since then...ugh. Personally I don't know what is different now, but I would think this would be a well sought after position as head coach. But, Bless is only is his early 50's, so if he wants to retire from Avon he needs to right the ship and soon. I love the Avon Marching Black & Gold, but most want to see quality football, the band doesn't need the love!
  15. How many players play both ways for New Pal? It is this reason (if it's more than 1 or 2) that New Pal could not survive a 6A schedule. But yes, on a given night, they are as good as anyone.
  16. I believe coach was quoted as saying O'Neill has a hip pointer.
  17. What did Zionsville do/not do to get knocked out of your top 25?
  18. No, not necessarily. It just bothers me when [you're,your] and [their, there, they're] are used incorrectly!
  19. I did not. I would imagine IMO that the offense made adjustments at the half. They have a potent passing attack. I'm guessing that if they want to beat BD, they will have to outscore them. Like... 41-38 type of score. Doubt that will happen though.
  20. Agree with your assessment. Just a correction.... the game is at Avon.
  21. Mt. Vernon game #1 vs Mt. Vernon state champions... totally different team.
