  1. Yeah I obviously knew what you meant. But I think you’re way off on this. If anything the Eagles have been there done that and MC is in uncharted territory.
  2. You won’t go wrong there. The Blue Gill filets are surprisingly good!
  3. Define two scores. Could be as little as 4 points or as much as 14!🙄
  4. There are those that say Carmel’s 1973 “adventure “ @ Valpo had a lot to do with going to neutral sites. 30 mph winds and temperatures in the teens pretty much grounded Coach Dullaghan and Mark Herrmann that night in a 14-13 defeat.
  5. I have no skin in this fight. I hope it’s a great game. But saying both teams pull starters out after half’s of most games is absolutely false. Just comparing scores tells me that can’t be true. GS yes, most were blowout wins and common sense says perhaps 3 of their 13 games required 4 quarters from the starters. Tri-West on the other hand had 4 close games and 2 losses which meant their starters absolutely played 4 quarters. And the regional against Owen Valley was decisive at 28-7, but I suspect starters played well into the 4th quarter in that one. That’s 7 out of 13 games. With no common opponents there is no way to say if that is an advantage or disadvantage to either team. But spinning it as a toss up with misleading information is perhaps disingenuous.
  6. Many of my generation will tell you that the reason they moved the finals to neutral locations (all around Indy if I recall) was because of one game...... the '76 Class 3A title game Carmel @ Valpo. Dullaghan's aerial attack led by Mark Herrmann was virtual grounded by temperatures in the teens and 30 mph winds. Valpo prevailed 14-13.
  7. Crap. Lured in to this by an old, retired legal referee.
  8. Not so sure GS definitely has a better offense than Plainfield, at least when Plainfield was healthy. Probably a blasphemous statement to GS posters, but the Quakers were a pretty potent team with probably the biggest O-line they faced all year until the QB was injured.
  9. Doesn’t seem like a concrete enough bet. Define “anything”.
  10. If you’re Footballking 16 or Cody whatshisname then you probably agree with this post. Or this may be another freezing cold take. I’m leaning towards the latter.
  11. No, you stated it was an indictment of the HCC. You’re on this island all by yourself.
  12. I guess we need to leave him alone. He’s on a roll. (Ever since the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor)
  13. So Brownsburg was representing the league? Do Westfield and Zionsville’s dominant wins mean anything?
  14. All 3 of your sentences are gross exaggerations. If you don’t think the league as a whole had a good year (and better year than the MIC) then you aren’t really paying attention. Brownsburg was as good last week as they were bad this week. To say BD isn’t very good? Just plain dumb. MIC is still #1. HCC is a clear #2.
  15. Wow. You just can’t let go. Will you make the same statement if they play CG in the semi-state?
  16. I think Sagarin showing Brownsburg 7 points better (5 + 2 for home team) is accurate. No one can predict turnover margin which was why the score was lopsided.
  17. This is the time of year Jeff Sagarin’s rating formulas start showing accuracy. I find it hard to argue with 6A this week: CLASS RANK STATE RANK TEAM OVERALL RATING SCHEDULE STRENGTH RANK RECENT RATING RANK PREDICTOR RATING RANK 1 1 Center Grove 111.62 84.83 12 113.89 1 110.94 1 2 3 Westfield 101.76 86.80 7 105.29 3 100.36 4 3 4 Brownsburg 100.35 87.28 6 103.52 4 99.13 5 4 5 Hamilton Southeastern 100.06 84.83 11 98.30 7 101.42 3 5 6 Merrillville 98.41 72.79 27 101.50 5 97.10 6 6 8 Carmel 95.95 85.11 10 95.63 8 96.17 7 7 11 Ben Davis 88.31 80.13 16 86.71 17 89.38 12 8 12 Warren Central 88.02 84.69 13 84.71 19 90.10 10 9 15 Lawrence North 86.83 81.32 15 86.72 16 86.82 13 10 18 Fishers 85.51 85.43 9 86.81 15 84.73 21 11 20 Carroll (Fort Wayne) 85.10 58.57 76 84.64 21 85.43 19 12 21 Columbus North 84.68 75.25 20 85.56 18 84.31 22 13 27 Franklin Central 80.81 90.39 1 78.86 28 81.86 27 14 29 Lawrence Central 80.19 86.45 8 78.49 30 81.12 29 15 31 Chesterton 78.92 73.43 26 77.02 36 79.87 32 16 33 Penn 78.51 71.15 30 78.83 29 78.36 34
