As the season comes to an end soon, it is time to start posting openings. This topic is for posting of CONFIRMED head coaching openings, as well as assistant coach openings. Discussions about specific opening CAN be a separate topic. I say CAN be with emphasis. One of the unique features of this site is that fans can interact with coaches from various programs across the State. We want that to continue. What makes coaches hesitate to participate? Rumors as much as anything; but trashing coaches is another factor. the creator of this site, TA as he is known to many of us set those standards, and we continue to abide by those standards. Feel free to speculate on a coach you would like to see. But completely avoid "I heard......". hearsay is unacceptable, no matter how close to the source it is. So, what does confirmed mean then? Any social media post by the coach himself (facebook, twitter, instagram, Myspace 🙂), news outlets, school or program social media pages, and the DOE site or other sites that post job openings to apply to. Please include a link as well that shows the position is open. Let's keep some things in mind; all coaches have other full time jobs. Coaching takes up a LOT of time; and in most cases, they pay is minimal. These are not college or pro coaches with enormous contracts that are open to public criticism. These coaches have families too; so please keep that in mind. Rumors can be very harmful; so don't spread them.....that includes guessing or speculating why a coach is no longer with a program. We have had coaches in the past that have explored opportunities outside the current one they are in. Often times, they wait to tell their building or even district administration until they are beyond initial interest in an opening. There have been a few occasions over the years where someone had posted a rumor about a coach interviewing. An administrator saw the post on here, or heard from someone who saw it. When confronted, the coaches were in tough spots. They were either asked to withdraw their name or resign their current position immediately. That is the reasoning behind TA saying no rumors allowed. If you are unsure if you should post; you are more than welcome to send a message and ask first. Thank you all for understanding, The GID Team

I will give Reich credit. He is pretty consistent as far as going for it on 4th down, or even last year going for 2 against the Bills. If the team executes those, he is praised as gutsy....and honestly, many can be upset about going for 2, but it was a GREAT call; the ball was within reach of the receiver, and his hands touched the ball. If you are a road dog in the playoffs, why not be aggressive? As far as the defense goes, even the best cover guys will look bad when there is little to no pass rush. The defense did its job for most of the game. Games like this are tough to watch, and are gut wrenching; but they are still a fairly young team. This game and the game against the Rams even, shows they are close.....perhaps closer than many fans really want to think???

While I know hiking is not a sport; I HAD to share this.

While I am not a fan of the halftime performers either, Gruden’s problem was that he was referring to specific people; not just once either. And his attacks were toward people connected to the NFL. If most of us attacked our employer like that, we would be out of jobs as well. Let’s keep in mind that part of what Gruden was doing that lead to this moment was part of the ongoing investigation involving his brother and the front office with Washington. It seems to have been quiet for a couple years, but building up steam now. From what I recall, some pretty nasty stuff about sexual harassment of females who worked for the team and the front office there.

An ugly win is a win….whew lol The Bengals are a team to be reckoned with though, but Burrows gets hit way too often. I was surprised that Jaylon Smith did not play at all. I figured they would at least get him in to pass rush.

Mixed bag in the first half. As talented as Green Bay is, they are not really good when they take deep shots. They really need to throw short more to set up the deep routes better……and run the ball. They are near unstoppable in the short game. I always say the key to the West Coast Offense, and should be the key to an offense like this…….move the chains……just get first downs. Seeing Dillon getting a lot of throws to him is a good thing too. The drive at the end of the first half was really impressive. One thing standing out is the poor special teams play……..way too many mistakes. And absolutely no excuse to give up that score late in the half. You HAVE to put pressure on the quarterback. A 4 man rush that becomes a 2 man rush is NEVER acceptable.

Does Bama drop out of the top 4? Honestly, I am not sure they do. I will be curious to see them play Georgia in the SEC Championship. There are a LOT of interesting scenarios. Yesterday was a great day for watching a lot of games. Georgia seems to be the only team not giving up a lot of points. Sadly, osu is back in the picture too. 🙂

I had thought that too.....until seeing the Bama A&M game last night.

I think the heat really cranked up on that seat.

Just curious who wanted OU to be ranked this high? getting whipped by Texas, giving up 38 points in just one half is not good. So much at stake for them too; and even Rattler as a Heismann candidate. Getting pulled from the game won't help that, or even his draft rating.

This is him signing his contract......representing his junior high with the shirt is really cool.....and yep, it is an EACS school 🙂

Because of roster issues, the staff tried making him an inside linebacker. The reality was that he was an edge pass rusher. But, being the team guy, he tried bulking up to play inside; and everything changed for him. He was slower, and less athletic, and just did not have the instincts needed. Someone will pick him up and move him back outside.

To the original question, I think the only thing that has come from the IHSAA is that with an all in format, draws are blind draws. To be honest, I think that is the ONLY reason I can recall for not seeding it. I agree though that it should be seeded. I think the discussion has been around longer than this digest has been 🙂 There really is no logical reason to not seed. In times where programs are struggling financially, including the IHSAA itself, the smart move would be to have the bigger matchups later. More neutral fans are likely to attend after their team's season has ended compared to having marquee matchups in the first round. Since playoff ticket revenue is shared among schools, it is obvious how to make the pot as large as possible.

This shows it better...I don't believe this is a catch. That said, I don't think this is a camera angle that was available to replay officials. My guess is that similar to IU's stadium, the views for camera angles are limited at Ross Ade.

Seems Urban Meyer may be finding out another difference between college and the NFL. Being the hero that he was to Columbus likely afforded him some protection from such things, but while struggling in Jacksonville, everyone is watching. hello….USC? Yeah, Urban here. 🤷🏼♂️ https://itsgame7.com/new-angle-shows-exactly-what-urban-meyer-did-with-hand-video/

I hope he recovers fully. I love his determination after all he has been through.
