Again....not really the point. None of us were in on any meeting. As I said earlier...maybe Kokomo said no. You will find that most 5A programs and/or coaches would not be fans of scheduling a non conference 2A game; regardless of who it may be. If Kokomo said no, then all your criticism of WeBo is unwarranted.

Not my point.....simply assuming they avoided Kokomo for a different opponent is human nature. But the rant against WeBo was what i was referring to.

Why assume this is the case? Not sure what axe you have to grind with WeBo, but maybe Kokomo said no? Were you in on any of the phone conversations? Or other meetings regarding the schedule changes? There are a LOT of things that factor into what happens with schedule changes.

Old timers at Scecina in Indy were in a similar spot. Although it's not a union hall, Shi Kay has a path behind it to the locker rooms. Dad's gathered at Shi Kay while the kids practiced. Kids walked the path to the parking lot; opened the door, and a dad's name was called out for the trip home. 😄 I had 4 brothers who lived that experience.

Part of it is timing.....I think if the week gets to a Tuesday and especially a Wednesday; it is more difficult to prepare than if a game is canceled over the weekend. Another possibility is teams may be playing short handed. While it seems there have not been many varsity games canceled, the fact is a LOT of rescheduling is going on with the sub-varsity teams.....a LOT. So, coaches weigh the risk of having to play sub varsity level kids on a Friday night. So, it is a program by program thing as to whether there is value in playing a game or not playing a game.

The game has flown by. The first quarter went by with each team having one possession and Detroit early in their 2nd possession.

It really shows the defense just has to get a couple stops in a game. I would prefer more, as it will be needed against better teams. That said, the Lions are a better team this year. Many did not expect much from them, but they have competed in the first two games.

yep...holding them to a FG was big with the Packers getting the ball, but they cannot waste a single possession now. Defense just needs one stop.

While I say that, I would add be smart. One thing that would drive me nuts about McCarthy in Green Bay as far as play calling was that he loves taking deep shots on 3rd and 5 or less. No underneath routes to just get a first down if the deep shot is not there. One season, people were critical of Crosby for missing so many field goals. I thought well damn, let him kick a few under 50 yards McCarthy. So glad he is gone, and really happy he is in Dallas.

Bill Walsh had a belief that he had to get his trick play in before his opponent did, and that if it gained a yard, it was a success. I do believe some are too conservative. As a lineman, something like a 4th and 1 at mid field and especially inside your opponent's territory is just time to man up. It's a gut check. I don't mind trying to draw a team offside; but go ahead and go for it.

It’s ND’s home game though. Last year was supposed to be the home game for Wisconsin at Lambeau, but it was canceled. Kind of glad it was. I never imagined a day that I would be rooting for the visiting team at Lambeau. 😄
