I still go back to his interview with John Gruden. That was hard to watch. I distinctly remember one point when Gruden had a pass play on the screen against Oregon in the championship. Coach asked him what his key was on the play. He said well, coach told me to look left first then throw to the post route. Granted, it was obvious he did not have a deep understanding of the game, but guys have made it in the league without that (one of the funnier Brett Favre stories when Holmgren was breaking down the defense in a qb film session he says, you can see here they have an extra safety, so they are in nickel. He leans to Brunnell and says what does that mean?). I was a fan of his. I loved the personality, but admit it appears something is off in recent years. He is still an impressive athlete and can still make plays with some great throws or great speed.

I think it is the same though......I do remember similar issues with the team back then that exist now. I did see a post on Bleacher Report that the head coach was fired.

I agree, but feel IMG knew this a week ago today; and maybe knew enough or even more to say they are not playing this game; way too many red flags.
-
I agree that ESPN does not deserve a break here; the game being on ESPN is on them. But let's not ignore the folks at IMG. Did they have game film going into the contest? If so, they should have seen PLENTY of red flags that said this would be ugly. Not hearing or reading that anyone at IMG said a thing. Did they go into the game with no film? That should have been a red flag too. This is about exposure on a big stage; even for the BS program. As someone said even bad publicity is still publicity.

Online Charter.......no oversight whatsoever; no accountability for a thing they do; yet setting up a school like this is possible in so many states; including Indiana. There was actually an attempt recently in this part of the State. State legislators there MIGHT step up and do something, but they will not want to as it would open the door for greater accountability in other charters and online schools.

A friend sent me this article. I did not know the young man, but wanted to share knowing this community would show their support. Prayers to the Buckley family as well as the Western team and school community. https://www.kokomotribune.com/sports/football-western-deals-with-grief-after-buckleys-death/article_4d1f9d72-053b-11ec-95ce-8f7d3eeeac3b.html

The Packers sat 31 players today; typical for this pre season. I had been somewhat hesitant of the approach, but seeing key players dropping on other teams, I am ok with it. Add to it an additional regular season game, and wear and tear has to be a concern.

82% here.....which is amazing considering how often the island had been invaded.

Read this in your best Cliff Clavin voice Actually Nohm, there was a point in time when the term "fighting Irish" was a derogatory term. It referred to the Irish units in the military during the Civil War. The Irish gained quite a reputation for getting drunk while in camp and fighting as much among themselves as they did in battles.

I am sure at some point this will be frequent enough that we stop posting when endorsements happen often, but this is the first I am aware of for an IU athlete. I did not realize there was still a Merchants Bank.

LN vs Whiteland Canceled

For future reference, there is a topic pinned at the top for posting updates. And this one was already posted there. Thanks -
yep, still true, and yes, feel free to ask the question on the regular forum, this is not the responsibility of game officials to track.

This sucks...the perfect counter to balance the personalities of Mick and Keith RIP Charlie https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/aug/24/rolling-stones-drummer-charlie-watts-dies-aged-80?fbclid=IwAR1AvU6GUD85eY6VDD1lvRh-4rznpeaLRur7l3s8_qGD31KH1CCF1jLJQyI&scrlybrkr=5496b0fa

Be Careful With STREAMING Sites 🤣
Irishman replied to BDGiant93's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Whew!!!!! I read the topic title and was a bit nervous. 🤣 Did not know if it was about steaming veggies, slacks, or "other" sites. 🤣 -
Try reading this as if Cliff Clavin is saying it lol Actually Norm, the color green was not an official color for the Packers until Lambeau was forced out at the end of the 49 season. Being a Notre Dame grad, he borrowed the original blue and gold from there….funny how that happened; Halas did the same with Bears colors being the same and the University of Illinois; Paul Brown did the same as well, using Bowling Green’s colors. I wonder if there are others? The Packers only on occasion wore green, again following what Notre Dame did. But yes, that green was closer to kelly green. The 50’s unis were a brighter green than what we see today. Under Lombardi, they went to a darker green, and have stayed relatively close to that since. on a side note, I was painting segments of my basement in team colors of my favorite teams. If you plan to do that, Sherwin Williams does the best job of matching color, by FAR. They will not hesitate to call a store in the town you are looking for, in this case, Green Bay, to ask the mixture for team colors. They are actually standard colors in the store, Goldfinch for the yellow, and hunter Green. They look fantastic on my wall. Don’t you think?

Bishop Luers Knights or DAWGS?
Irishman replied to Basementbias's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This follow up interview is really good too https://www.wane.com/high-school-sports/from-bishop-luers-to-barstool-sports-nelson-knapkes-interview-goes-viral/?fbclid=IwAR3GkGspKwaou5bN2xb_CraaMR57Iu2-ykCyATjSb0vSqhB53nmTKbP4RxU -
yep...HATE the Cubs unis....don't even like the "Wrigleyville" on them. North Siders would have been cool, but better colors. They look too much like the Titans colors
