  1. Pretty certain the IHSAA has a rule too that you cannot play on a travel or club team while a given sport is in season.
  2. I will be soooo pissed now if Cersei wins this war.....what a B!#H
  3. The unintended consequences of laws, right? I can see the issues there. I can also understand the reasoning. With insane numbers of young people getting Tommy John surgery, something was happening. I also remember the year before the rule came out. There was a tournament weekend, where one player had thrown an insane amount of pitches over a couple of games. I cannot recall the exact number, but it was well over 100.
  4. There may be guidelines from the NF, but if it is a mandate, then the IHSAA has no say. Maybe there is some flexibility in what the count would actually be. I cannot answer that for sure. Edit: I found this, and my guess was right...THAT does not happen often. 😂 the NF mandated that States develop a pitch count, so the IHSAA committee that including the Commish and 10 coaches from around the State came up with the limit for Indiana. This is from a 2016 Exec committee meeting. http://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/ihsaa/documents/news media/2016-17/100616.pdf
  5. I have questions about the math as well. I too assume that 4 quarters on a Friday night would eliminate any time at the lower levels. I have not seen anything, but I am assuming that special teams plays do not count toward the quarter numbers.
  6. My perspective as a coach where numbers can be an issue is this is based on quarters more than lack of compete from one team or another. We have been in games where some of our JV guys get half a game in, leaving them with just two quarters for the JV game. If the clock is running, then it could, in some cases, save the quarters for those kids. I have coached JV many times over the years, and keeping track of quarters can become a pain; especially if a key player has to sit the 4th quarter.
  7. I know you are upset about going to FW. I am curious if there is somewhere else you think they should go?
  8. Jacob Thieneman, S, Purdue from Guerin Catholic, signed with the Giants
  9. I was streaming it as well, I have an ipad that I usually watch through my appleTV box. But my new TV allows streaming right to it, which is nice, but every option I had went through a major buffering point. That buffering is what keeps me from going all in on streaming and turning off the satellite
  10. Had the pleasure of coaching with Justun at Cathedral. He is a great hire. While he is a great coach, he is an even better man. Best of luck Justun.
  11. You mean something along the lines of: who is left to rule? Probably
  12. I do think Danaerys freezing in battle and John Snow getting her head on right makes the transition to Snow becoming the King.
  13. There are a handful of episodes in my lifetime that are unforgettable. This is one of the best ever. Also unforgettable: Henry Blake’s plane being shot down in MASH. The last episode of MASH. Edith Bunker passing away. The last Seinfeld, because it was a dud ending. There might be a couple others, but those standout the most.
  14. Jake Thieneman from Purdue was signed by the Giants though as an undrafted FA
  15. Purdue's streak comes to an end.
  16. Yes they do.....not sure how many years at the moment. How many entered the draft from the two schools?
  17. Ohio State only has 2 though, and just 7 from the B1G. On the other hand the SEC and the ACC are running away with this. But that was fully expected.
  18. Was this before the lawsuit against him for housing discrimination? Or is it the same time frame of 30 years that we were told was too long ago to matter when it came to the Kavanaugh hearing? In the words of Vinny Barbarino... "I'm so confused". 🙂
  19. Being a fan of a couple of Chicago teams, I have learned far more about this stuff than I wanted. Even my satellite uses a random ip address. I learned that often times, it shows up as being located in Chicago. The Cubs and Blackhawks split their TV schedule among 3 stations, NBCSN Chicago, WGN Chicago (Not WGN America), and ABC 7. The ABC 7 games are local, over the air only. There are times if the Cubs are on ESPN or Fox (and they are on WGN or even ABC 7), they will be blacked out. Even if I got the Extra Innings package, they would be blacked out. I talked to someone from the mlb asking why I am considered part of the "local viewing area" from 270 plus miles away. He took some time to explain things. He asked for my zip code, and he told me what teams should be blacked out in my area. The Reds, Indians, Cardinals, and Tigers are blacked out, or should be, but he said I should get all of the Cubs games, especially if I had the Extra Innings package. It took some time to get through it all. I can see every Reds game, and there are times I will get an Indians or Tigers game. So, it was explained that I would need to set up a static IP address that is local to fix things. It worked for a while, but is now back to picking up random addresses. Fun stuff, huh? lol
  20. We are well versed in your support of this, but the topic asked what you would like to see from your team this season.
  21. Whenever the wildlings are a big part of a scene, does anyone else think of Celts from movies like Braveheart? 😂
