  1. This game only adds to my doubts about LaFleur. In the end, there was nothing to gain as far as playoffs go, and if you just look at the overall record each season, he is likely here for a while. About the only thing you could hope for is if a guy like Jerry Jones offers a boatload of money to move and he takes it. But his game to game management leaves a lot to be desired. In the long run, I ask how many games has the team won that they should not have with him as the head coach? Without researching this season and previous seasons, I would guess less than 5? Then…..how many games were lost that you should have won? Again without looking, I would guess at least 10, with today being the latest.
  2. On the flip side, Mike Evans catches a pass at the end of the game to hit his $3 Million bonus.
  3. Mistake filled game, but the Bears turnovers have been killers. But Green Bay's mistakes loom larger as they give that one away. Not that the Packers make a deep run in the playoffs anyway. But this is not a good sign. Craziest thing is the Packers make the playoffs easily, but only win 1 divisional game.
  4. Remember when I posted potential bonuses, and you asked if coaches really call plays and make decisions based on that? Looks like McCarthy is one of those who does.
  5. Sad news......prayers for Smart and his family. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43284302/sonny-smart-father-georgia-coach-dies-sugar-bowl-fall
  6. Both COULD be true....I mean: πŸ˜„
  7. 17 points in the span of 54 seconds on the game clock......HUGE. ALWAYS defer when you win the toss.
  8. Maybe LaFleur can learn something about game management. I am not a fan of taking the ball when winning the coin toss. I don't know how often it works out, but it seems the teams that receive to start the 2nd half often end the 1st half with the ball. It's burned Green Bay a few times where the opponent has scored with both possessions. The Vikings did it last Sunday, and the Lions were able to do as well. The Vikings were able to put 14 points on the board. The Lions got 10. The Rams got 10 as well earlier in the season. Look at the Irish last night; kick a FG with little to no time for Georgia to do anything, get a turnover and a TD. They start the 2nd half with the ball, and actually score on the return. 54 seconds of time ran off the clock, but it changed the game completely.
  9. Even before that when Jack Del Rio was the head coach in Jacksonville, he started wearing suits. The league initially said it was not approved sideline gear. They had a contract with Reebok then, so Reebok actually starting making shirts and ties for him to meet the NFL guidelines. It was a pretty impressive look too. So while the league has a say so, whoever has the contract for sideline apparel could help.
  10. Pretty cool to see this
  11. Damn…what a week for him πŸ™
  12. Did anyone notice that Georgia lost to Notre Dame by more points than IU did? Hmmm. πŸ˜„
  13. One thing that was noticeable this game compared to the other playoff games along with multiple bowl games; there was no visible trash talking or other nonsense when tackles were made. 2 very well coached and disciplined programs.
  14. Thoughts: 1. The SEC screwed themselves in this playoff setup their commissioner helped create. 2. F' the SEC πŸ™‚ 3. None of the teams with a bye won. 4. F' the SEC πŸ™‚ 5. The Irish and Ohio State played to win. Aggressive play calling and stealing possessions. 6. F' the SEC πŸ™‚ 7. ND penalties were all bad mistakes that should not happen. 8. F' the SEC πŸ™‚ 9. Picking ND and Ohio State next week. 10. F' the SEC πŸ™‚ PS....oh yeah, IU belonged in the playoff. πŸ™‚
  15. Defense wins championships.
  16. Pagano was on the show and said that some calls are made in the front office. But I could see a coach ignoring it to help his players get what they earn. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  17. I looked into it and don't see any options for moving a reply to a different topic.
  18. How many calls will Geno Smith change? And the Bucs are in a MUST win spot as well, so that helps Evans.
  19. Some interesting scenarios to consider going into the last week of the season. Several of these are pretty healthy bonuses. Several within reach in a single game as well, especially for Evans and Smith at the top of the list.
  20. Sorry if that is the way my post came across. I did not mean it to. I agree though, it is what it is now.
  21. They still need to upgrade the o line. That is the group that struggled the last 3 games. The schedule looks easier next season, but will they face tougher scrutiny with the way they lost to Ohio State and Notre Dame?
  22. As others have said several times, not a fan of this portal business. On this list is Louis Moore. Played all 24 games he was on the roster for during his first stint under Tom Allen; transferred to Ole Miss and is now coming back to IU.
  23. Wondering if that home game to start the playoff helped? These 2 games that OSU has played has been the best they have looked by far.
  24. Crazy game in Atlanta. Texas should have run them out of stadium. Gotta love the heart in the ASU team though.
  25. Even prior to his recent legal, health, and addiction issues, when he was the GM, or heavily involved in team decisions, he sucked at it. He even admitted the team got better when he fired himself. That is the only time period they have been good.
