  1. For the D1 level, I agree. For non scholarship schools and non revenue sports, I still see a place for an association to oversee them. One thing that will become an issue as NIL and simply paying athletes to play is going to be staying in compliance with Title IX. The NCAA only has itself to blame for anything that happens now. One other possibility for those sports would be to let the amateur governing bodies direct them. One example, USA Track and Field would run Track and Field at the collegiate levels.
  2. They beat East Carolina twice too. They won today after losing to them last night.
  3. Dominant run through the postseason, capped off with handing Maryland a 15-5 whooping.
  4. The one line from Band of Brothers stands out. When Sobel ignores the salute by Winters, Winters says we salute the rank, not the person. Sobel then stops to salute. Seems to fit here.
  5. No such thing as moral victories. This series SHOULD be 3-1 Pacers now, but you have to finish games. Offense goes to shit the last 2-4 minutes in 3 losses in this series.
  6. Luke Goode started as a sophomore at Homestead. After our season was over, we watched them play Carroll for a sectional title. Luke could have easily been a D1 QB. That was his last year to play football though.
  7. The latest from ESPN. My prediction of college sports lasting 5 years may be too high at this rate. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/40206364/ncaa-power-conferences-agree-allow-schools-pay-players
  8. Lance Cline, the Offensive Coordinator for the Bulldogs the last 3 seasons and long time assistant at Snider passed away this morning. Not many details at this point. But it’s been a tough couple years for the program. Justin Brown, an o line coach for them could not coach last season due to having leukemia. He passed away late last year. Please keep the coaches, players and program in your prayers.
  9. Have not said much because it's the NBA and the bias against small markets like the Pacers has been frustrating for decades now. But I will always be a Pacers fan; have been since their ABA days at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum. This team has the highest scoring offense in the league this year. They really are fun to watch. They really do not have a super star like the other teams still in the playoffs, so they have to play as a team. I know the Celtics are much better than the Pacers, but the Pacers are ahead of schedule for being competitive on this level.
  10. Packers fans show up in droves in Indy as well. I think the Colts were the first to start tagging games as premium games. Years ago, when they were still in the dome, we bought tickets for the Packers game, but they did not just sell single game tickets. You had to buy a preseason ticket as well. So for the Colts-Bills preseason game that year, there was a LOT of green and yellow in the crowd. 😂 I also recall a number of people getting warning letters from the Colts stating that the team was aware that fans of the visiting team were in their seats and that happened again, they could lose the rights to those seats for season tickets. I think they were one of the first organizations to do that as well. Yes they do have a system in place where every seat can be seen by a camera.
  11. The schedule is out. Interesting notes. 1. 4 straight prime time games starting with 2 Thursday night games. The Lions also have back to back Thursday games. 2. Only one Monday night game. 3. Only one Sunday night game. I am ok with the lack of prime time games. I hate staying up to watch them. At least I will be on Winter break for the Monday night game though.
  12. Colts schedule is out. Interesting things: 1. Of the 15 games that are set for time, they have 13 games starting at 1 pm. 2. Just one prime time game against the Jets on Sunday Night Football in week 11. 3. The bye is not until week 14...wow....that seems really late.
  13. 14. The Glee Club??? Like they gonna have a club dedicated to a tv show!
  15. The women finished the season ranked 4th and are a regional host.
  16. Craig Young from FW Wayne was signed as a UFA by the Colts. He originally played at ohio state, but finished his career at Kansas.
  17. With all the athleticism on the team now, this was a critical pick up.
  18. The claim that "the guy" was right "99% of the time" was the next clue. 🤣
  19. Or maybe you are responding TO that guy???
