  1. I have not made one excuse........as far as South side, like I said, every program has had moments they did not show up to play. That was just one of those games.....no excuses. EN was runner up in 18, by the way. As I said, they are just consistently bigger and better than us most years. They do have some other advantages as far as their schedule goes that give them an edge; especially in years we have been in the hunt for a conference title. Bottom line is the talent level has been nowhere near what you have stated, and we have been consistently smaller up front the last few years than every opponent.
  2. I have not disagreed that we have struggled to compete, but your notion that we should be competing for conference titles is a criticism of the kids and/or the coaches, and an inaccurate one. And the fact is that we simply have not competed. You may want to check conference titles. It has ben more than one in the time you mention, including an NE8 Title; so yeah, I will question your credentials. East Noble? They were a State runner up 2 seasons ago; who did compete with them before the playoffs or in the conference? How about you look at the schedule layout for the conference. East Noble sees every week of film from us because they follow us most of the season. They also have a week off for Fall break. They are a bigger program; especially up front, and in many cases by about 50 lbs a person. And that is year in and year out. But someone with the detailed criticisms you have SHOULD be able to see that.....hmmmm. It really is not a matter of being content. We work with what comes to us. What good football programs are you thinking of with the comment?
  3. And my comment really was directed to things that have more to do with the situation at NHHS than just on the field. As far as the roster goes, we were outweighed across the line every week, except in one position. Athletes? Our DB's were an average of 5'8". Undisciplined??? @Yuccaguy has some thoughts along with me on that one, being that we are the only urban program in the conference. We struggle to finish at the top every year??? You mean outside of the year we were a conference champ??? lol...again, what exactly are your credentials?
  4. Actually, nothing you stated was fact. I will take my perspective over yours any day. What exactly are your credentials to make such an assessment of the program? I have actually stated many things in the follow up as to why you are wrong.
  5. I thought at the time that Sampson was a great hire. What is crazy is that everything he did to get in trouble is now allowed. I agree with your assessment of Crean; great recruiter, but ok as a coach. When Miller did come in though, there were off court issues he had to deal with from a few of Crean's players.
  6. All of those things are factors. There are still others that were exaggerated and/or ignored that I will not get into here.
  7. It does seem as though NFL officials let some things go. In this case, Adams advantage gained was from running across the formation. Before he made any move up field (the move in question), it is clear that he had Ramsey beat. As far as my first comment, how often do we see offensive tackles make a move that appears to be before the snap? It is the outside leg when they take a kick step back. As Bob said on the first one, I guess it would take watching the film to see when the center actually started any movement for the snap and when the questionable moves occurred.
  8. Maybe you see something from a distance, but if you are not a part of the program on a day in and day out basis, you cannot much such claims...This has to be the worst assessment of a program I have seen on here in a long time. I am not saying it because I am a part of it. I am saying it from the perspective that I have been a part of more than successful program, this one included. Are there games we should have won? Yes.....every program has those. It still does not make your assessment any closer to being accurate. I am not going to get into any details about the program, but I know this.....the program has had great coaches in place. We have had great coaches for a long time. The coaches know the game; are willing to learn, care about and build relationships with the kids; all things that are needed in successful programs.
  9. God in his Judge Chamberlain Haller voice: “that is a lucid, intelligent, well thought out objection........overruled.” 😂
  10. Cool moment after last night’s game with Brees, his kids and Brady https://ftw.usatoday.com/2021/01/bucs-saints-tom-brady-td-pass-to-drew-brees-son?fbclid=IwAR0VtJ2aa6fCjen5-2sYR-0Pm_UPODGkZhO2j32aa1CyAVaKBLVejgHbDUg
  11. The feeling is that the Bucs have really controlled the game. Brees looks good at times and not so good on several throws, but Tampa is doing a good job of being in his face when he throws. The Bucs o line is taking this over. The Tampa run game is really what I was expecting to see from Kamara and the Saints.
  12. Methinks a memo was sent to New Orleans about emphasizing the targeting plays. Bad call
  13. The Browns had chances.....ballsy call on 4th down for the Chiefs. Genius if you make it, get raked over the coals if you don't. I like the mindset of having your players make plays....put it in their hands.
  14. I have been impressed with several throws and catches by Mayfield and his receivers. Mahomes out with a concussion may not matter in this one, even though it is a one score game as I type; but how will it impact them next week?
  15. I would add that leading with the helmet/targeting SHOULD be reviewable. If a play is under review, EVERYTHING should be factored in. Interesting halftime conversation........ Should the offense lose the ball if they fumble out of the end zone? Cowher's comment was offense should keep the ball but get it back at the 20. So on that play, it would have been the Browns ball on the KC 20. It is something I had never even considered.
  16. Yeah, trying to reach was not needed. You have to think of game situations. You need to milk the clock on that drive. If the Browns score there, they are in the game. They get the ball to start the half. You are still just two scores down, but the defense has not stopped the Chiefs yet. They are getting to Mahomes though, getting some good shots on him.
  17. I hope that the NFL looks into making flopping a penalty. There is no way that was roughing. Allen is 6’5” and weighs 238 pounds according to their roster. There is no way a small push like that makes him drop that easily. Years ago, I was an assistant in a semi state game, and the team we were playing had a good sized o lineman, after we stopped them on 3rd down, our DE was going back to the huddle and this guy walks by him and falls dow....the flag comes out. I to.d the official on our sideline, that guy is a solid 260 lbs. There is no way that bump caused him to drop like that. I know hockey has a penalty for embellishment, so it seems to have cut down a lot of nonsense that had been happening. I hope basketball and football follow suit.
  18. We have the same issue with our purple from adidas. I have never been an adidas fan. We actually got purple home jerseys and purple game pants....the samples looked great, but ended up being two different shades of purple.....and it was noticeable......to the point we never wore them together. But I have to think that Nike is the real culprit with what they started at Oregon. IIRC, Oregon was the first to go with the alternative look. The owner is an Oregon grad. I think UA started with Maryland, correct? Since the founders are UM grads. I do know Warren Central was the first high school to go with UA. A classmate/teammate from there was one of the early executives with them.
  19. NFL defenses adapt very quickly. His success last year was based on an easy schedule, and the novelty of what he brings to the table. Collinsworth made the comment that he really is a pocket passer, and is good at it. The coaches need to limit the planned run plays, but when it comes to scrambling, I am not sure you can change a mindset that has been a big part of his game for so many years. If they can teach him to scramble so he can throw rather than just take off and run so much, he may settle in as a solid QB. Time will tell.
  20. I think around 9,000 was the total. I have not seen an exact count. I am not sure why they opened it up at this point. It might have something to do with it being the playoffs. I have not seen anything that has been published why they have eased back.
  21. Watching the Ravens Bills game; the Bills have been solid, but the Chiefs have to be smiling. The Ravens have just been dominated all game. Even Jackson was not a threat in the run game. Yes he had a couple big plays, but no damage. Is the game different if the missed FG's are made?
  22. Rams competed well......Packers still have drives they shoot themselves in the foot at bad times though. Solid win overall. They lit up the number one defense in the league. They need to clean that up regardless of who they play next week.
  23. Green Bay has let a number of first responders in, which is really cool. I think they said 6,000 season ticket holders are in as well.
  24. I just listened. When I heard IU is de emphasizing basketball, my thought before listening was after Crean departed and some of the off court issues with his players, and some on campus stuff, the school may have said it. The team was fairly relevant for a couple years under Crean....just had tournament flops, but still competed and were in the mix with the top teams.
