I agree....that is why it was such a surprise the IHSAA declared him ineligible.

For the first time I have ever been aware, we had a kid transfer in.... Dad had an apartment in the district, while mom lived in another district. He transferred mid year and was in our building the 2nd semester. The school he left challenged the transfer, even though there was an address change. The IHSAA ruled him ineligible, so he was basically forced to go back to his previous school. That type of thing happens so often with no questions or issues.

A former IHSAA Exec Committee member is an assistant superintendent in our district. her claim is that it may happen, but has been in discussion for years. She also claimed it would only be allowed after a student's freshman year. And I agree, the system has long been broken.

I agree with this 1000000000000% Thinking of those country club sports and the changes in the travel rule. Golf courses and tennis clubs, swim clubs (since the Carmel one gets ZERO competition in State) ought to see a prime opportunity for inviting top programs from around the country.

I was thinking after I posted, what are some fight songs from programs we hate or don’t root for that we like. That is one for me too.

I hate SC, but actually like the fight song, as well as the other tune they play….no clue the name of it. That is as long as I do not have to hear either of them that often.

I got to experience my first SC game a couple seasons ago. While I have been to several games, that one was unlike any other, and it was awesome, including seeing the SC band march around outside the stadium. There were a lot of SC fans around as well, so there was some solid trash talking while tailgating as well. It was a great day.

I was 11 and vividly remember that game as well. What a great day for the Irish.

My only guess is if FSU is in, then they and Florida only want 2 schools in from the State and not a 3rd.

I had a feeling we were just seeing the tip of the iceberg. It certainly has been the most interesting Summer for college athletics in a LONG time. I figured we could consolidate it all into one topic. I feel the SEC is in an interesting spot here. While they do have the dominant teams at the top, they do not have the TV markets the B1G now has. And with just a couple teams so dominant in football, are they just adding more mediocrity to the mix?
