  1. Thoughts after 3 weeks? Oklahoma barely gets past Nebraska, Clemson barely gets past Georgia Tech, Florida stands toe to toe with Alabama. Penn st and Michigan off to good starts too.
  2. And it’s a bummer the game vs Wisconsin is not at Camp Randall. Probably a blessing in disguise for the Irish
  3. Me neither. Tyler Buchner had a hamstring issue that’s why he didn’t play 2nd half. He makes the running game so much better and keeps the defense honest. Purdue had a couple calls that did not go there way, especially that no call for pass interference in the 4th qtr. Should have given them a first down and kept their drive alive. When asked after the game about max protection Brian Kelly said if they didn’t do some of the things they did George was going to wreck the day and they didn’t want George to wreck the day. After the first 2 series on offense I thought GK and the Purdue front were going to wreck the day. But the Irish offense did enough to win and the defense didn’t allow any big plays by David Bell. Have not watched any Wisconsin or VTech but saw some of the IU/UC game yesterday. Wouldn’t be surprised if ND goes 1-2 in the next 3, especially if the hamstring issue lingers for TB. We shall see
  4. Sorry forgot to type the word fans. I think there will be more fans.
  5. lowest crowd since stadium capacity was increased 1997 season. Assuming there will be more tomorrow with Purdue in town
  6. And had ND not fumbled (kyren williams) at the Toledo 30 or whatever it was they score to make it a 2 score game and the game ends differently as well. Regardless they should have handled Toledo with ease and until I see otherwise, they will have close games with Purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati,Virginia Tech, N Carolina and most likely USC depending on the direction they're headed by then.
  7. I agree with what you’re saying but IMO that’s the case for every game, some teams make plays and some teams take advantage of others misfortunes. I really thought that Toledo QB would go down around the goal line to take more time off the clock. On to Purdue, should be a good game.
  8. So the opposite of the NFC North??
  9. Purdue @ ND GK is going to be a problem for the Irish. David Bell is going to be a problem for the Irish. I’m anxious to see who plays QB for ND this week or if they go to a (gasp) 2 platoon quarterback system to help the run game.
  10. Yes but they made the plays and are 2-0. Normally they don’t make those types of plays and find a way to lose a game they shouldn’t. And yes, how the heck does FSU let that guy get behind them?!! And then they can’t tackle him or push him out of bounds?
  11. I would say it’s been a little fun considering ND usually finds a way to lose these types of games they let the other team hang around. Lets be honest here, this offensive line is not good. We have a grad transfer qb who can’t sense pressure or see a blitz coming in front of him. I didn’t believe this before the season but with their inability to run the ball Tyler Buchner may need to play now to give them a chance to keep the defense honest. He looked pretty good today and Jack coan did not. But the OL, down to LT #3, needs to get much much better to help the qbs out.
  12. Rough Start to season for the Irish on the injury front... Black Fisher OT -out 8 weeks Paul Moala LB - out for season Shane Simon LB - out for season Those linebackers missing the rest of the year on top of starting/most athletic LB Marist Liafau out for the season is really going to test the depth of the defense, especially at LB. Freshman LB Prince Kollie is now going to look at taking some #1 snaps at ILB and soph WR Xavier Watts is moving over to help the defense, I think at Rover. Next man in, but wow if they suffer another injury to that LB crew it's gong to be tough to overcome.
  13. Byron Center. All I know is it’s in Michigan somewhere
  14. Just heard BK say Paul Moala (penn hs) tore his Achilles last night. This after tearing his other Achilles last season or the end of 19 I can’t remember. Feel terrible for him.
  15. My takeaways from this game…., 1. This new offensive line is going to be a work in progress. Blake fisher sprained knee so he’ll miss some time. His replacement last night Carmody did not look very good 2. how many plays did the defense get into the backfield yet FSU still gained positive yards 3. it’s only 1 game but former DC Clark Lea may have been the best at making in game adjustments. Not sure if it was injury related but CL wouldn’t have been running a 3 man front if it was getting gashed by the opposing run game. Marcus Freeman has some work to do (may have been short handed up front) as this wasn’t a the start on defense we were hoping for 4. Jack coan played well. Disagree with whoever said he should be benched. A running game and better o line play will help. My only issue was a few sacks he took 5. Kyle Hamilton is good at football unless he cheats and watches the qb eyes 6. How can you not root for FSU QB McKenzie mIlton Go Irish. A win is a win but that was way too close for comfort. Watching games and ND opponents Thurs-Sat i thought the Irish had a really good shot to run the table and go 12-0. Don’t see that happening now. But who knows it’s a long season and I’m glad college football is back
  16. Dante Moore, heavily recruited by Notre Dame amongst others. Would love to hear a scouting report on how he plays against a good Carmel team if anyone would like to provide one!!
  17. Warsaw and Michigan City should be a good one. Anxious to see how this one goes this year
  18. I don’t have a link and didn’t want to hijack the Purdue Pete thread but I read somewhere that the leprechaun or fighting Irish nickname was named the 4th most offensive mascot. @Bobref have you read any of this or heard any rumblings?
  19. yes but I believe he has 3 years left to play if he chooses, not 100% sure tho
  20. Blake Fisher looks to be the starter at LT while Jack Kiser and Paul Moala will be getting time at LB/Rover and I'm sure will be on special teams. Former Indiana HS players on the roster should be big time contributors. BK has said that Jack Coan has looked good running the offense, there are some weapons to work with if they can stay healthy (Brenzy, Austin, Tyree). Drew Pyne is getting the 2nd team reps and Tyler Buchnar getting some 2nd teams reps too. I'd like to see what TB can do on the field at this level, but if we're counting on him to be the starter for the majority of this season the Irish could be in trouble. I think next year he'll battle Pyne for the starters role and hopefully take it and run with it for 2-3 years. Looking forward to FSU.
  21. Shamrock uniforms being announced tomorrow. Also, team captains for 21 season being announced tomorrow as well
  22. This is brother Bobby, who wrestled 1 or 2 years at Merrillville before the family moved to Minnesota. Gable is a monster, very awesome performance!
  23. Her 3rd ever marathon race, not too bad!
  24. Maybe Phillip Rivers will come back for 1 more year….. not a colts fan but I thought they drafted the qb from Washington Jacob Eason 2 years ago or so. Wonder if he’ll get a chance
