  1. Does he currently teach at new prairie or have an administrative role?
  2. Come on folks, we're PE teachers who teach in the gym, not about the gym!! haha
  3. I’m a little confused.. was Bruce still the head coach this at the beginning of this past season?
  4. Saw this earlier, had no idea she went to Goshen College but grew up in Kansas. https://www.southbendtribune.com/news/local/goshen-college-didn-t-want-her-coaching-because-she-s/article_206178f2-42c6-11ea-a9ef-d7bebaa46a9c.html
  5. Was at the game. What happened at the end of the first half? Thought IU had 1 timeout left and instead of using it they let the clock run down to 3 seconds then kicked the field goal. Why didn’t they use the timeout earlier, try a play to the end zone then kick the field goal? I didn’t understand that and not having the hands team out there for the onsides kick. Great game to be at, except the ending if you’re an IU fan, and I thought the stadium was awesome.
  6. I wonder how many applicants Clay will get for that job....
  7. Easy there champ, I just said if I was Jimtown I would see if he was interested. I agree on your points but maybe KK wants to see his old school return to glory.
  8. I don't know him at all or if he'd be interested returning to his roots but I would see if Keith Kinder from Mishawaka has any interest in this position....
  9. Looks like both schools selected good head coaches, both have great records after 2 seasons. Anxious to see how this one plays out tomorrow night
  10. Was in Mishawaka over the weekend and Roc's has closed down. Not sure when and why but just saw this on Saturday. Scoobies, in downtown Mishawaka, has some awesome subs and burgers but closes early, like 5pm.
  11. Not sure if they still do but I believe Merrillville uses 2 different quarterbacks, at least they were earlier in the season
  12. Shout out to #3, who had 3 straight sectional starts vs Valpo in the early 90s (and was 3-0 I might add!)
  13. So who does a snow and ice covered field benefit more, valpo or Mishawaka?
  14. This was back when Mishawaka had some great sectional games vs valpo, like 3 straight years including a game I saw as a 7th grader with Mishawaka recovering an onside kick and kicking a field goal as time expired to win. Penn was east and Mishawaka went west when it came tourney time.
  15. Think 91 was the year Mishawaka made it to semi state, only to get blown out by Penn like 41-0. Think they played LC the year before, and again were shut out like 24-0. I'm getting old so my memory may be way off!
  16. I believe it was current Mishawaka councilman Matt Mammolenti who returned that punt! Must have been 90 or 91
  17. Move the game to Valpo so I can attend!! Wasn't there a game between these 2 schools in the early 90s where they played on a frozen field at Valpo? I could be wrong (or have the wrong 2 schools) but I thought there was a snowstorm and the custodial staff tried watering the field, not sure why, and it all froze turning the playing surface into an ice rink.
  18. I have to think elk memorial hc shaw has to be close to retirement. Think the guy elk central coach (Not sure name) will be the obvious front runner. Don’t think they would ever leave Rensselaer, but would love to see coach Meeks and Nowlin and company take their run at a big school like Elkhart. Their offense is always fun to watch.
  19. Heard penn needed a goal line stand to hold off portage. Is penns qb powlus coming back this season or done for the year? Penn/Warsaw and central/Mishawaka should be good matchups
  20. Big game up here in the region in 2A sectional semi final action. Not sure if there are any BG followers here but can anyone explain why this year is personal? Seems to be their motto or rally cry this season (at least what I see on Twitter) and I’m wondering if I missed something? Anxious to see this one play out Friday night.
  21. Grew up watching and played in the backyard brawl. Back in the mid 80s and 90s in the Geesman era it seemed like we would never beat Penn, coming within 20 seemed like a victory and we only had a few moral victories that I can remember. That trend continued throughout the 2000s and then Curtis changed the entire culture and brought a system that enabled Mishawaka to really hang and play with anyone on the schedule. It’s a shame, perhaps last time since the Michigan City merger the possibility of these teams not playing each other but that got figured out before they missed a game. I can’t imagine being a player at either school and not having the opportunity of playing at either Steele Stadium or Freed Field on a fall Friday night. Think the cavemen take care of business in this “final” meeting.
