  1. Absolutely
  2. Used to love this day, take a day off from school and watch and read about new commitments. Now with the early signing period feels like this day isn't what it used to be or maybe it's just me. I'm a Notre Dame fan and they have really taken advantage of the early period, signing most of their guys in Dec and only a few in Feb. The rb they're supposed to announce today (Logan Duggs) is supposedly having 2nd thoughts and wants to remain home and play for LSU. As a fan, or coach, what does everyone feel about the 2 different signing periods? **Side note** So so happy NCAA football series is coming back! Forgot to say congrats to all of the Indiana HS players who are moving on to the next level!
  3. Agree, but they have the same body type and running style. What was Wheatley's size when he arrived in AA?
  4. Harbaugh also hired Edwards's hs coach and former Michigan player Ron Bellamy as an assistant coach. Edwards is going to be a beast, Wheatley seems like a good comparison.
  5. Wells has 2 daughters, both soccer players and Zoey plays bb as well. Lux has 3 boys I believe that are all in CP schools, all basketball players.
  6. Girls basketball and boys wrestling doesn’t seem to have any trouble finding athletes who end up at CPHS, I’d assume football will be no different
  7. Read that new ND DC Marcus Freeman zoomed with Curry this week or last and the plan is to restart his recruitment. Just hope it’s not too late and why he wasn’t a top priority with the previous defensive staff.
  8. Good deal, feel bad for the kids who didn’t get to experience the backyard brawl during this hiatus so I’m happy the 2 schools were able to get this game back on the schedule. Too bad we have to wait until 2023
  9. Caitlyn is an awesome girl, I never thought I'd be typing that on a football message board. I had the pleasure of having her back in elementary school and again as a student in drivers ed. She's one of my all time favorites, just a nice down to Earth girl. Maybe she can bring glory back to the Crown Point or Lake Central football teams haha (I kid of course)
  10. Not an official historian but at Mishawaka the colors used to be maroon, yellow, and white. My sophomore year (1993 season) they went away from the yellow and used just maroon and white. Not sure how long they had yellow but when I was younger and attended games I remember yellow being a part of the uniforms.
  11. Chirp freakin’ chirp, that was a beat down! Congrats to them on their 1st bowl win. They are deserving on a top 25 maybe top 20 finish
  12. I would go wherever Trevor Lawrence goes!
  13. I understand the SEC bias but you can’t tell me (if everything plays out the way we think, Clemson, OSU, Bama win Saturday) that the playoff committee not to mention tv ratings would love to see Alabama vs Notre Dame and Ohio State vs Clemson. Does Texas A&M carry the same weight as OSU or ND? IMO they don’t. As far as the past, there’s nothing you can do about it except win now. People will always remember the Bama game even tho it was 2012, Miami, Clemson twice, and of course Michigan a few seasons ago. It’s 2020, ND has been building towards this. The depth, the talent, and the coaching is way improved since 2012.
  14. Tyler Buchner will have a shot to compete in the spring for sure... Ian Book will be gone, Brandon Clark (backup fr qb) may need a knee procedure, which leaves qb Drew Pyne, Tyler Buchner, and Ron Powlus as your qb room next season unless they bring in a grad transfer qb. Lot of hype towards Buchner, he has all the tools but played inferior competition in San Diego before transferring for his senior season (not sure if he played senior season). Good opportunity for Ron Powlus, you never know when an opportunity could arise but I don’t think they signed him to be a starter down the road, IMO
  15. From what I’ve read it’s a full ride, I would’ve guessed maybe PWO as his only P5 offer was from Kentucky. Congrats to him on signing with the Irish!
  16. Excited for the new commits, Blake Fisher and Tyler Buchner just 2 of many good signings for the Irish, who did a good job addressing needs in the defensive secondary, offensive line, and wide receiver position. Testament to the staff as well for maybe only losing 1 commit after the news broke of Clark Lea becoming next head coach of Vanderbilt. Prince Kollie, lb from Nashville, was a huge get and keep that I was worried about possibly decommitting. Who knows that the future holds but like what I see so far from this years class
  17. With the Big Ten changing their rules as they go maybe the ACC should cancel their championship to allow both Clemson and ND to make the playoffs!!! Just kidding of course about cancelling that game. But with the Big Ten playing a much shorter season and allowing Ohio State into their title game (and presumably the playoffs) I don't want to hear anymore about ND only playing 12 games and not playing in a conference championship game. I don't believe ND stays in the ACC long term, and I understand this year is unlike any other, but ND's normal schedule is much tougher than this year's ACC slate.
  18. Beat me to it, one of the best stadiums in the state IMO
  19. Doesn't seem fair to these other teams who have played 9+ games to let in a team into the playoff who has only played 5 games. Perhaps this opens the door for Indiana, Texas A&M, Florida, Cincinnati to sneak into the playoff this year. Lot can happen between now and next Saturday
  20. Awful news
  21. I was really impressed with the defense on Saturday. Say what you want about North Carolina but that offense is really good. They scored on I think their first 2 drives, and then ND loses arguably their best defensive player (Safety Kyle Hamilton for targeting) and the defense gives up 3 points the rest of the way. Offense looked good despite missing 2 starting OL, Book keeps playing well and receivers getting better too. Gonna be a fun rematch with Clemson in a few weeks, hopefully the Irish can get past Syracuse and Wake Forest first. Anyone who watches the games wonder or know why Kyle Hamilton leaves the field for goal line defense? I noticed that again this week (before the ejection obviously) but also saw in the game vs Clemson he comes off the field. Also, I really hope Vanderbilt doesn't come and take away DC Clark Lea for their head coaching job. I know it's only a matter of time before he takes the next step but I wish the Irish could hang onto him for a few more years....
  22. I really thought Jim Harbaugh would be home run hire for Michigan, but it just hasn't happened. I mean he's had success in college, NFL, and is a "Michigan" man that I thought would have great success. I thought I read somewhere that JH suffers from memory loss and shows signs of CTE and I wonder if that has effected his coaching ability. I don't know where they turn to from here, it's still Michigan and I'd think they'd have a lot of applicants to go through. Do they turn to an up and comer or someone who's had P5 or NFL success? Or do they stick it out one more year and give him a pass due to 2020 being 2020?
  23. Munster's a basketball and tennis school currently while LC is solid in basketball and baseball?
  24. How have the 3 feeder middle school programs been? I also wonder if LC loses any kids to Hanover Central as well Illinois private schools and Andrean. The new facilities are amazing from the view on 41, I think with the right hire this could awaken a sleeping giant. I'd give a call to Craig Buzea, see if he has any inklings to come back to Indiana. Probably not but I'd still check...
  25. He did, but when you only win of these big game every 25 years or so students are going to storm the field, pandemic or not. But I also read or heard that all students at the game were tested earlier in the week to be allowed into the game. Regardless, covid report yesterday for the ND football team showed only 2 cases which must have been positive cases before the Clemson game since the report said that the 2 players were not at the game on Saturday. So take that for what it's worth until the next report comes out...
