Temp’s Big Ten Rankings After Week 5
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to temptation's topic in The Next Level
Purdue, if they can win back to back weeks at Wisconsin and home vs Iowa, those are their biggest games -
If they finish 8-4, IMO that means they have a really, really good young head coach in Marcus Freeman. I still need to see them play to have a better gauge of what they can be this season. Of the 3 game sample size, the offense has been atrocious, the defense has played well at times but has really disappointed in the 2nd half of every game and is lacking turnovers, and the special teams have been.....ok? Again, I need to see more (or do I? haha) Here's the rest of the schedule UNC, BYE, BYU, Stanford, UNLV, Syracuse, Clemson, Navy, Boston College, U$C I think they.....?, -, L, W, W, ?, L, W, ?, L.. If they can beat UNC, Syracuse, BC and then pull an upset they can get to 8. At this point I just don't have the confidence they can do it. Hope I'm wrong!!!

Depends who you ask 😉

You talking Rees? Too of my head Rees, Mickens (db coach), and Freeman are only holdovers from last years staff. Sad state of affairs I’m hoping they can finish off this game vs Cal. Cal.
-
Todays Cal game will tell us more about MF as a head coach. If they come out flat again and play like last weekend, which I don’t think will happen, it could be a one and done. I’m trying to be positive and believe he’ll learn from his mistakes but there’s a lot of question marks two games into his tenure BK: The guy wins. I remember when he came to ND a buddy of mine who hates ND saw BK speak at a coaching clinic (while he was at CMU) and said you got a really good coach. From where ND was when he got there to where he left them is really impressive. At this stage of his career, and after 2 necessary makeovers at ND, does he have the energy to bring back LSU and compete weekly in the SEC? Time will tell but if you go by his track record he will have success. The way he left ND will always have a bitter taste in my mouth. As the all time winningest coach in school history, I felt he owed a little more to his players and school. BK will always be about BK first and foremost.

You do realize this irrelevant program you speak of still plays Clemson, BYU, and “Rice” beaters USC so, and I don’t want to speak out of turn here, I don’t think they’re hanging their hats on losing game one (in close fashion) on the road to the “#2” team in the country. Again, irreverent.
-
Again, an irrelevant program
-
Yes a top 10 program year in and year out.
-
Yep very irrelevant, which is why you’re posting on a message board board about the head coach waving the white flag and not trying to score twice in the final minutes of a game most everyone knew they weren’t going to win. Very irrelevant.

Temp’s Top 25 (9/3)

Mishawaka getting any votes? -
ND did about everything they needed to do to win last night to win (not turn the ball over, keep OSU offense off of the field) but it still shows that ND is lacking with elite players on offense especially at wide receiver. Missing Jarett Patterson on the interior showed last night. Defense showed they can play with about anyone but the offense didn’t help them in the 2nd half. The Irish need to get better at making adjustments (and maybe not calling a safety blitz on 3rd and long vs a good qb???) because that’s two games in the row they’ve been unable to finish all 4 quarters and have faded in the second half. Hopefully they improve every week and head into Clemson game with one loss. That made me laugh

DAC week 3 with predictions!
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to Piratefan101's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I believe because they have coach buzz, his all star coaching staff and his GUTS philosophy. And they’re still a fairly young team. Future is bright for CP -
Is Penn that good or Valpo that bad?
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to gindie's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Especially on a night when they’re honoring Chris Geesman!! -
Too bad on Avery Davis, think this was his 6th year after tearing his other ACL last year. Leaves the Irish with 4 scholarship WR, that can't be good. Also heard the Irish practiced at SB St. Joe HS last week and may practice at Penn HS as well as some other local high schools in the future. Marcus Freeman doing his best Hoosiers impersonation and trying to stress that the playing field is the same no matter what stadium you're playing inside of. Hopefully he has an ace up his sleeve to help them prepare for the 100k + fans who will be in attendance in Columbus.

Whiting needs a coach
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to Whiting89's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Is this a new superintendent? I have no clue but is there any chance coach Cain could come back on an interim basis? Sounds like a very sad state of affairs up in whiting and very late in the game to be searching for a head coach? -
Man I hope so. Has to happen one day but let’s see if they can actually get to the NY6 game this season with MF and what should be a tougher slate.

Booster 2022-23
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to DK_Barons's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Made mine too. Love the gridiron -
Dante Moore making his announcement Friday at noon on ESPN. Seems like Oregon will be the choice in the end. Feel good about the Irish getting Carr but little disappointed they couldn’t close with Moore. Anxious to hear what happened back in February or March when he was close to committing to ND or maybe that was never true.

CP will continue to improve. Played a lot of juniors and sophomores (and even some freshman) last year. They have some pretty good skill guys in WR Delich TE Malaski and the RB Taiwan (sp?) is a load. I don’t know what Lafayette Jeff has coming back but I think CP can and will win the sectional and possibly a regional. Much tougher sledding come post season time in 5A

Rumor: UCLA/USC to the Big Ten in 2024
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to temptation's topic in The Next Level
Hearing chatter of ND to the big ten also? Any truth to this? Thought they were tied to the ACC for quite a few years -
Hildalgo to Whiting
WolvesOnTheProwl replied to Tommy's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Honest question, did coach Cain ever have andrean in the sectional? Will whiting drop back down to 1A?
