  1. Couldn't agree more with #1. James still is the most special player I've ever seen play high school football in the state of Indiana.
  2. Hmm...interesting. The contracts are negotiated by the union and the districts, but you are not bound to be a union member to benefit from the contract. Are they lay coaches or teachers?
  3. How much do they make? You assume that the programs pay for that service? You'd have to contact the programs directly. To my knowledge, it's most typically a volunteer/student manager/student from a broadcast program who shoots game video and things...don't quote me on that though.
  4. It would have to be negotiated in the teacher contract. I would think it would then have to apply across the board.
  5. The only way a public school whose salaries are public record could do what you're saying is layering on job titles that have responsibilities. Base Pay Coaching Stipend Maybe Assistant AD or Department Chair Stipend Extra Work Days All must be in the contract available to the public for inspection.
  6. Not a chance at this point. They're gone. The MIC took its action specifically so they couldn't come back, IMO. I've also heard the divorce did not go well...besides the letter.
  7. Somebody's cutting onions in here. What a great video congratulations to Brady Allen. Very well-deserved in a tough Mr. Football field.
  8. He is him and him is he. You didn't know that?
  9. The most important box...be honest about your intentions.
  10. It's what he's been saying since...like 1999 here. BD isn't what it used to be...see they don't produce players. WC isn't what it used to be...see they don't produce players.
  11. I threw him in for good measure. We've had a pretty good run of athletes on the Westside. This idea that the Westside or the Eastside haven't produced athletes is poppycock.
  12. I don't seeing the MIC kicking out two charter members and then just rushing to add schools. I think it has to be a school that's going to check the boxes identified in the letter.
  13. He's consistently bashing Warren Central and Ben Davis...like always. Fact is Ben Davis has had Corey Harris, Morten Andersen, Tandon Doss, Asmar Bilal, MarQuies Gray and Chris Evans and that's it in the NFL. The Giants are soon to have a certain Ohio State tackle joining Evans in the league. BD has Aaron Henry in the NBA pipeline with Philadelphia. There are several D-1 players at major conference schools as well as others who aren't. Dillon Moore just signed with Western Michigan. More commits to come too. You're leaving one out. Right after Tech. I know, it doesn't fit your narrative though.
  14. There were lots of reasons why the Giants made it to Semi-State this year.
  15. LOL. Ben Davis is about to have more pros in the league than it's ever had before at the same time, dude. Gosh, you really should pay attention.
  16. Conferences are a confederation of schools. The IHSAA has no role in the creation of or regulation of conferences. Plus, almost every school in the HCC or the MIC is in either one of the two largest football classes and the largest class in other classed sports. Why use what's happening between these two leagues as an excuse to breakdown the rest of the state's conferences? You think a team of mostly Class A schools cares about the MIC or HCC?
  17. I am beginning to think the MIC is fine staying at six schools until the right partner comes along. No sense in rushing it.
  18. FWIW, I have informally heard the same things as Temptation on the HCC. My sources are not unimpeachable though. I haven't heard anything directly from the horse's mouth. I'd term it rumor at this point, but...rumor worth watching.
  19. My sources say there may be some HCC fallout from adding Carmel and Center Grove. Another individual I know speculates that Carmel may have an easier time getting added (natural rivalries) than CG. Should be interesting to see how this shakes out. Carmel and CG opened the door and dared the MIC to make a move, and the MIC gave them the push they desired. In the end, this will shake out. It's been a fun run with this group of schools in the MIC. If this would have happened four or five years ago, I would have been shocked, but I came to see the "writing on the wall" over the last couple of years. The rumors became reality. I wish the folks at Carmel and Center Grove the best. I will especially miss working with Carmel. Jim Inskeep is a first-rate person and class act. Center Grove has always treated me well, too.
