  1. That's the next ring outside the city. I'm sure if you threw in Plainfield, you'd see they've grown significantly.
  2. If he wants to coach again, he'll definitely coach again somewhere. He's a big pro-school guy. He really gets himself immersed in the school culture. He was at everything. He's a kid magnet.
  3. I enjoyed getting to know and working with Russ these last three seasons. He's a good guy, and he has a fun and different way of looking at things. I think he'd admit that it didn't end exactly like he thought it would here. I'll always appreciate the work he did that first season. That team was expected to be good, and it still had to complete a gauntlet run to the state championship. It was full of landmines. That was a fun run. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the highlight. I think the arrow points way up for the program. He's leaving it in a pretty good position to move forward. We'll see what the next coach could do. I remember meeting him for the first time. He was like, "You're BDGiant93!" Anyway, he's a friend, and I'll leave it there.
  4. 1) Tom Allen (left for Wabash) 2) Mike Kirschner (Resigned with no immediate plans to coach the next season...then came back at Mt. Vernon after they pursued him) 3) Jason Simmons (left for Miami of Ohio) 4) Russ Mann (resigned)
  5. And remember, for those new here, the IHSAA charges for Semistate because they hire out broadcasters.
  6. I wonder out loud how this would play here......
  7. 100 percent. They MUST avoid the careless turnover.
  8. Yeah, it was evident that this wasn't the Center Grove team they were supposed to be. Coach Moore did a great job holding the MASH unit together.
  9. No. They shouldn't have. I would expect them to poke back into the rankings next year.
  10. Ben Davis should be better if they can hang on to everyone. JV and freshmen had good years. Varsity was very young. Started a freshman or sophomore at QB for most of the games.
  11. Is that a judgy subtext? My dad never came to any of my matches or programs. He was a high school assistant principal, so he was busy. When he wasn't, he didn't want to make me nervous. It wasn't that he didn't want to be there. He told me what was up. He did the same thing with my brother. He didn't want to hover over us. He wasn't famous, either. But, anyway, it appears other posters have pointed out you might just be missing him. Solid.
  12. Hey, I just work here. Well...not really...
  13. Looks like both 6A games are on turf.
  14. Not to mention, the midweek Regional was randomly hosted by one of the teams. Can you imagine the uproar if, let's say, a mediocre team wins a mediocre Sectional only to have a good team win a tough Sectional then have to travel to the mediocre team for Regional midweek?
  15. Only problem I could see is that some schools might bid in anticipation of hosting. You'd have to put something in place that would make that not happen.
  16. You could follow the basketball model and have schools "bid" to host a Regional or Semistate.
  17. It wouldn't be unprecedented that the Bulldogs lose to an underdog in Sectional (or Regional) BDGiant93 thinks those are fair...except, what's the 1 percent that Warren doesn't win? The locker room gets locked and they can't get out until tomorrow?
  18. Ben Davis has had the Warren route a couple of times. It is what it is. The IHSAA won't split school districts, so the Lawrences, Fishers/HSE, Southport/Perry are package deals in the Indy Metro. Tech has to have somewhere to go, too. T'is what t'is. Warren got it the last two cycles. Assuming if Decatur stays up, that probably will be where they get slotted in the next sectional cycle.
  19. Some gems on the schedule!!
  20. Carmel since 1963. Ben Davis since 1966.
  21. They are the powerhouse in Indiana high school media. I have the face for radio. I will pass it along to my students.
  22. BD does not video stream games. We have a radio broadcast, but other schools do have robust video streaming departments. Many stream their home games and have quality graphics, etc. In Central Indiana, ISC Sports Network has a MIC or game of high interest broadcast on MYIndyTV 23. There's several games available on ihsaatv.
