  1. Why I undertand that, said player will get no time on said field, but the messaging seem to suggest you would literally have that player not be present at all. So you are saying that the player will still be part of your team, just not playing any snaps in a game. More than fair for any coach to do that if that is there perogrative. Seemed as if you were saying there was ways to physcially remove the player from the team with out telling him he is cut.
  2. Matt Campbell at age 45 has brought Iowa State to new levels and has sent multiple players to the NFL the last 4 years as he is developing and sending. What he has done at Iowa st the last 9 years from young man to grizzled 45 yr old veteran has been very impressive. Guy before him 32-55. Won title as OC with Mt Union in D3 shortly after his playing career concluded. He has an extensive background as OL coach coming up when he first got started
  3. Leanard was very poignant in post game like always, hard not to root for kid like that, but yes, he said not sure why he here on the mic with the gal post game on field, before the stage, gave lots of love to Angelli Penn St, tough situation, you want to try to get one big play to get back into business, I contend, if they didn't pop that decent run to start the drive, they probably don't attempt to throw late over the middle there and have that major WHOOOPSIE I continue to be a huge fan of Coach Freeman, fell in love with him at Purdue when I was just getting going in this coaching gig at spring practice/clinic. SUPERSTAR. ( Bears please say hello ) To a player and Coach Freeman, loss week 2 galvanized this team, they are not in this same spot if thier 1 loss was to like USC or Texas AM or even Florida State to a certain extent. Coach Freeman was excellent on stage talking about that or maybe it was the on field afterwards.. When adversity hits, is when you see true growth , summarized.... Happy for my ND pals, can't say I am going to be actively ROOTING for them, but I can tip hat in respect for how htey are winning game.s
  4. Might as well. get paid.....perhaps more than a 2nd or 3rd or even 4th round pick where he may have fallen...... no brainer, get healthy, get a great year in, back to top 15 in 2026 perhaps
  5. Football is a non cut sport Off season workouts are not mandatory, HOWEVER, proccess of elimination happens when you as an athlete choose to not participate in off season workouts (if not in a winter/spring sport) , others will pass you right on by
  6. I have no issues with Warren from what I have seen so far, he is big picture, big bravado guy, I am cool with that, I believe him when he says he is there to assist Poles when called upon. As far as Poles contract, that goes back to day 1 3 years ago when Poles was hired, the press asked then and was given the same answer by Poles, that he will never discuss his contract status ever as the GM of the Bears, Poles when asked 2 days ago about contract, gave same answer as he did on day 1 on the job as he has done 3 years later. I believe Warren was just respecting the wishes of Poles on this particiular topic, IE: his contract length and price
  7. That was the ED of the ED and BILL clown show I believe EDIT: NOT ED: Ernie Acosta
  8. Offensive Cordinator of Arizona Was with Vikings when Warren was there, was at boston college 2 years after Poles left as a player Love love love they are interviewing Matt Campbell of Iowa St as well
  9. Definitely don't want the NFL nor will get to the NBA level the way it's structured with its contracts and how the ownerships are strong. I think we'll keep it away from there, but I definitely understand your sentiment there This is the first time in the last 15 years or whenever they got rid of Lovie (huge mistakes still) that I felt like the Bears upper management finally figured out how to align the process and have allowed the guy. They are trusted to lead the team to lead this search and not go to Friends of the McCaskeys like Ed and Bill from the last couple years dictate who they get in front of and who they end up hiring And the fact I haven't heard Trace Armstrong's name is a godsend
  10. His tone to me seem like somebody who was very upset that his team went 5 and 12 on the year and he was holding himself accountable for that. I'm sorry I'm not going to be happy with anybody in the Bears going out there smiling and doing backflips I will say he was spot on when he talked about the competitive poise in games was the downfall of the season and anybody who paid attention this year would agree that how they reacted as players on a field by the coaching they were given in competitive situations led to many losses that were on the brrink of wins
  11. Above my pay grade my friend When DK starts talking his jibberish I go into the fetal position
  12. After investing time listening to the Bear's Brass yesterday, it's my understanding that they are going to cast a very large net including already hired head coaches in the NFL to guys like David Shaw to guys like Mike Kaftka who has been asked for interview s to the Giants but that hasn't been reported yet. I just may have some insight information Stuff like that , I don't think that changes Poles process at all with McCarthy denial
  13. I disagree I watched last night entire press conference of Poles. Warren and George Did you invest the 43 total mins or coming to that conclusion from AM radio clips ? What words exactly? Because I thought Poles was on point on everything and he is not going to tell the entire press community and air out all the dirt inside the building that is bad business His comments on OL is exactly what I have outlined here I am still ALL IN on POLES leading this organization Football Ops. He was hired then 2 days later paired with Flus. Thanks George and Phillips and Polian. Smh Cap causality or performance based I'm done with attempting to bandaid a guy who was cut because of being old and on last leg 🦵 n the league.
  14. oh my, I hear there something called the way back machine on the internet, however, not sure how that works I will say this, however, this site has crashed and been rebuilt I think 2 or 3 times since Coach Adams passing in 2010, so my guess its all POOF
  15. If only that easy !!! You think Mark Bortz can still walk ?
  16. sure, but Bates has had a nice career in Buffalo, Davis was sought after by other teams, not just the Bears, but since they had more money, they overpaid, again, great job by his agent, it didn't work out, but at the time, its not like Bears were the only ones after Nate Davis. Onto Keenan Allen: Bears traded the 110th overall pick, that is a 4th rounder, in exchange for Allen. I would say that does not fit the definition of blowing ones wad for a player who played 15 games in his 12th NFL season, had 70 catches, over 700 yards and 7 tds playing with an struglling OL (can't throw down field if you cannot scheme the time to get Allen down the middle of the field) and playing with a rookie QB, in an offense who fired their 1st year OC, brought in, before halfway point, fired the HC after midway point, promoted a pass game cord to oc, to hc all within 3 weeks. SO with ALL THAT being said, that is pretty darn good production for just giving up a 4th round pick in 2025, 110th overall, who by the way Chargers took that pick, traded it to PATS who drafted Javon Baker, who didn't get on the field until late in the year and recorded 1 catch for 12 yards in week 18. Players drafted after pick 110 who play OL: 114: Javon Foster Jags: 4 games played, all late, zero starts 119: Mason McCormack: Week 4 started, started rest way for Pittsburgh who also drafted 2nd round Center started all year 122 the horror, BEARS drafted a PUNTER. (I can't find it, but I remember seeing some insider that said they loved McCormack but when they couldn't trade up to get him, they pivoted to Taylor just saying, but can't find it. 126 Giovanni Manu Lions ZERO games played 5th round: 141: Sedrick Van Pran-Granger Bills PAT guy, started week 18 in a loss to the Pats when all back ups played 144: Bears traded back into the draft to take a developmental player talent in Booker ( most pundits said if he stayed he is minimal 2nd round talent) 159: Hunter Nourzad Chiefs: Hey look, another guy who played only on PAT team zero starts 162 Christian Jones: Arizona 2 games played, week 17 and 18, with 18 being a start 163: Jacob Monk Packers 10 games, zero starts this starts the vaunted 5th round supplemental picks, you know, you get a extra pick in rounds 3,4,5,6,7 for losing FA or if you lose a front office guy who goes off to get a another promotion elsehwere, like IAN CUNNINGHAM, could be in line for GM job, Bears will get an extra pick the day that happens. 172: Trevor Keegan Eagles 1 game played, not started week 18, you know when they rested all their starters 6th round time 177: Walter Rouse: Vikings NEVER PLAYED A SNAP 179: Santaoa Laumea Seahawks NEVER PLAYED A SNAP 190 Dylan McMahon Eagles: this one is good, Drafted, but waived to practice squad, then picked up Mid Sept off practice squad and got into exactly 1 game by the RAMS who took him in Sept, and yup, that's right week 18 back up starter rest week around the NFL 202: Travis Glover Packers: Played the last 7 games, ZERO starts, assuming PAT guy 204. Tylan Grable. Bills: Played weeks 1 2 and 3, on PAT team, then not again to a week 18 start, as team back up squad week. 207: Michael Jerrell Seahawks: Classic D2 flyer taken from FINDLEY, best of the bunch so far, probably because he is from the HOOSIER state, ( Go PIke Go ). Didn't play OT until SR year of HS, where he was back up TE, no offers , 4 D2 offers, to 6th round pick, played 10 games, started 3, including week 18. 6th Supp time, how exciting, see who is up next here 210: Christian Mohagony: Lions played week 12-18, no starts, PAT guy 215: Jarrett Kingston San Fran, well they felt so high on him, he wound up with Carolina and played in looks like 8 games no starts, btw, he didn't make it to SEPTEMBER in SF before he was cut, I mean waived. 217: Beaux Limmer: Rams: Now we actually have a legit player here it seems. started about 90% of the games for the Rams. I WOULD FINALLY AGREE, HE SEEMS TO BE A PLAYER WHO CAN HELP THE BEARS NOW. 220: Elijah Klein Bucs< this rounds out the supp in round 6. 17 games played, zero starts, great PAT guy 7th 221: Travis Clayton: Bills This one is fun one too, Drafted a RUGBY PLAYER, went on IR, in August, guess Pads hurt his game 228: Nick Samac Ravens DID NOT SEE THE FIELD 230: Michael Jergens Vikings found himself on the field 3 times all year 233: Nathan Thomas Cowboys IR In August 237. Matt Lee. Bengals 18 games on PAT 239: Josiah Ezirim Saints Waived, then resigned, never left practice squad 248 CJ Hanson Chiefs Finally got on the field week 18 back up time but didn't start 249 LeDarius Henderson Texans, Put on Non football related injury report in July SUPP 254. KT Leveston Rams. IR Auguest and MR OL IRRELEVENT GOES TO 256 Nick Gargiulo Bronchos, Cut, resigned practice squad: NOT BROCK PURDY True Mr. Irrelevent is pick 257 Welp, GM SPARTY: When presented with this, what OFFENSIVE LINEMAN did we miss out on again that changes the outlook of the Chicago Bears Offenve line in 2024?
  17. Exactly, PASSIONATELY debated, not just for a few days, YEARS of the Roncalli 4 year run followed by the LCC run but it didn't derail to was non stop report pushing personal shots flying toward people, challenge the message you bet, challenge the person behind the message rather then the message itself is just the opposite of intelltucally stimulation you referred to
  18. So no actual calendar yearly timeframe then? What meagurement are you using to define "upward growth" Wins? is that the only meagurement ? GM Sparty its April of 2024, you are #1 on the clock, you have the #1 and #9 picks, I will trust that you are going to tell me what you are going to do with those picks plus understanding that youre overall draft capitol is very poor in rounds 3-7, what are doing with the draft? While doing so, try to do it without the knowing what the last 18 weeks just looked like. What Free Agent OL are you signing that Poles didn't ? I will hang up and listen. my take below on OL woes. ( Davis, Bates were signed to help fix the glaring need of OL, sadly, Davis flaked out with whatever is going on with his personal life and hoodwinked Bears brass, great work by his agent btw, in giving him that contract, Poles was impatient on getting Bates who Bills were most likely going to cut, then you could of snagged him, but he was hurt all year, so didn't see what he could or could not do, so he DID try to address it but wasn't the TOP priority it seems with the lminited draft capitol he had to work with).
  19. Ok, literally just saw all of this, never clicked this thread over my Xmas break where I didn't turn on my laptop for about 10 days (glorious btw to unplug). Now it makes more sense from the NFL/College tone that I did see way before this, now it makes sense on how and why some of those tones were being taken in there based on these back and forth. Gotcha. Believe it or not, the "Leadership Team" does not poke around every thread, now back in my hey day of being on here like many of you known, workin the computer lab, yes, I literally read EVERYTHING on EVERY FORUM we had, you know long 8 hours in credit recovery, but I digress. I will take blame on DONATIONS here, this was something that again, when I was in the lab, was really good at doing what @BTF mentioned on a a post in this thread, making a general Topic post/thread, and keeping that alive vs posting links in other threads that are "hot". for donations. Though I have done that previously, but in different manner. I did create what @foxbat referred to back in the day on bets being taken but for donations to GID. I can speak on this, I joined day 1, 1998/99, computer lab, Purdue, when the threads would just fall off and disappear, not many of us left who remember the 1st tech of GID under the leadership of Coach Tim Adams and his vision of what he wanted this site to be: #1 place in Indiana to come together to talk and PROMOTE (that was huge for TA) Indiana High School Teams, Players, Coaches. His pet project he started when he was coaching quickly turned to full time passion, gave up coaching, led this into the mid 00's and its boom if you will. There was some real real knock down drag out discussion that TA led with many many great posters, some still here today, like @Muda69 and REBEL DAD, now @Rodney, that was POPCORN stuff right there. Temp, you have no idea what it was like for Muda and others vs THE HORDE, you talk about the gain mentality here now, my goodness, that was something quite wild compared to these days, but here was the major differences, folks attacked policies, opinions of the member, not the member, TA was VERY much a non negotiable on that. TA was as deep man of Faith as well, him and his wife @Mrs Gridirondigest were very much a proponent of the simple rule of thumb of language that gets you a 15 yard penalty shouldn't be used here, now that has been loosened up quite a bit around these parts these, days, but on this main forum, the main HS led forum, we try to keep it to that original manta by TA. Message boards when this place was born was all the rave, this was before MYSPACE even, then social media which this website is a form of communication, but not sure its considered a social media site per se, but now Social Media in 2025 rules the day, Facebook, X, Tok Tik (I do it on purpose, it bothers my teenage daughter and I think its funny) Instagram, these sites are now ingrained into the every day lives of humans WORLD WIDE. Message boards are not, so having a football Facebook page with 19k, followers isn't not quite the flex I think you think it is, 2 completely separate modes of media information sharing and as stated Facebook for MANY is daily routine (I have not own one of those pages however but do however choose other like X for instance, give me a follow @Eric Nowlin if you want all the OUTRUNNERS and TURBO FLOYD smoke you can handle) @temptation you probably are not aware, this site was so big and popular, Coach Adams turned out a real nice chunk of change to sell out the site and its membership to Rivals who wanted to take it and put it under their umbrella, he resisted the urge to get paid for his work to keep his Mission alive, a common place for fans of Indiana high school football to come and discuss, banter, about the greatest sport there is Football. Instead, TA ended up working for Rivals as a correspondent. Coach Adams used to have meet up at the State finals with his community members willing to stop by and say hello to him, with his GID hat on !!! Famous picture out there of @DK_Barons @77Jimmie (the 1st 2 Moderators under the Adams Days) all discussing the big plans for this place with Wings and Beverages flowing. @Bobref and Coach Adams would meet many times because Bob was pretty brave at the time to step out, be open about his role within the sport of football with the hope to educate, promote the game from the Officials lens, you got to understand what this was like in 2004-2008 ish, that was not normal, that made many coaches uneasy as Bob took unnecessary heat from coaches who somehow were parnoid on this internet machine thing back 20 plus years ago, and all that. BINGO, Thanks my Friend, hope to meet up at Walts again one day........ See above, and the Reasoning behind that standard. See above, exactly and I will take blame here, I will be better in the future on this role Now what is REAL REAL FUNNY, a blast from the WAY past machine, maybe about 5 or 6 years ago, maybe longer, we had a very interesting member here, coach, went about attempting to earn HC jobs in a unqiue way, anyways, he wasn't a booster and he was complaining about ADS pulling on on this site and I believe Porn and other type of sedacious ADs, well what he didn't understand was @DK_Barons area of expertise and whatver does to set this palce up, when you don't donate, cool, here some ads, right, the ADS are through your persona algo that the interent tracks you with, so if you spend all your time lets say searching and reading about bicycles, the AD you would see would be BIKE RELATED topics, etc. you know I think most now in 2025 understand the ALGO and your internet history and what it does, but man was that FUNNY as all get out when DK publiclly told him how it went and why he was getting those type of ads. I know that was VERY LONG messages but just felt like wanted to shed light on things, I enjoy this place, I enjoy its mission, I have tried to be fair and just in situations that come our way with decisions made on "report button" or our own moderations we see. It saddens me to see this community is 2k short still on the year, like I said, I will take blame, I will be better on that moving forward into next year, I appreciate everyone who chooses to participate in our community, do I wish some of you would just know when to stop the drama, sure, is it annoying babystting adults at times,, you bet it is, but I just hope we all understand the WHY you should be here and live up to some of what Coach Tim Adams wanted this place to be. @gonzoron I appolgize for what I woud assume is multitude of grammer and spellin errers.
  20. What is your opinion on the time frame that you feel comfortable and given general managers in the NFL and turning things around? Poles put together a good enough team to win games and become a playoff hunt team this year Unfortunately lack of coaching and player decision making under the guise of a legit HC in Eberflus era which he hoodwinked me to. I admit it. I thought the way they finished the year last year was a thing to come and they got off to a good start this year being four and two. Then Washington happened...... But you put the stats of all the GMs. You're clearly making it a point that Poles should be fired because he has a bad record Was it Poles fault that #29 I don't even want to say his name, thought it was more important. Talk to the crowd of Washington instead of playing the game? Was it poles fault that the head coach decided to let Washington have a free 8:00 to 9, 10 yd or whatever it was before they chucked it down in the end zone? Oh I know. It had to be Poles fault fault as well. When a poorly executed field goal attempt at home versus Green Bay was tipped and blocked and another game was taken away from the win column..... Yeah that was definitely the general manager's fault....... So I will ask you again like I did earlier above. What is realistic expectation for a NFL general manager to provide a successful team? On that note is San Francisco and their franchise and organization terrible now? I mean they just only won six games. That's exactly one more game than the Chicago Bears. You know the same team that went to the Super Bowl last year SF won 6 , Bears won 5. Must be a terrible general manager and head coach in San Francisco that led to that demise. Can't be anything other than that right? Or maybe this is how the NFL is made to be set up as the schedule, the organization and how you can't just build super teams and great players have to be moved because there's not enough money. Go around when you build it develop wonderfully. See the Kansas City Chiefs and then letting Tyreek Hill go as one example.
  21. That's why I feel confident that I've been around enough that I don't need to read and watch anything on mainstream Sports television to form an opinion like this as well It's all noise and I agree wholeheartedly on your statement there
  22. right on I appreciate Bears putting together a nice list to try to find their guy, Vrabel has to be interviewed, just like Harbaugh HAD to but Warren and his relationship, (Led by Warren) didn't allow such things. UGH No different the Whitesox who put together a package for the newest Asian pitching phenom, just like Cubs,Yankes, et. al. At least they tried instead of assuming it was not going to happen. I can respect that at least, even if you think Vrabel is a waste of time.
  23. What exactly is a waste ? Also. The lack of direction by Billionaire owners is kind boggling. Enter Tennessee
  24. Concur And supposedly that's what I was reading about these billionaires who want to start buying into 51% of college teams to run it and invest their money that they make as a 50% shareholder into improving other facets of the University in their programs Because most of these places are got different tax codes based on how they are. You know state funded or other universities they sell off 51% of let's say IU football to Mark Cuban. Then he could then take his profits and then reinvest it into the university how he seems fit with different text codes
