Seems as if Jeff Monken has created the most buzz from the paid GBI site -
sadly, I agree this is where this sport is heading

Q: What’s the situation with the NIL collective? A: I don’t know. That’s one of the things I told Mike. I appreciate the heck out of Mike and love him for giving me this opportunity and really being somebody that I could confide in. One of the things I told him while I was walking out is what Purdue needs to be successful. Take the schedule. You ask the donors: “Who do you want us to beat?” You gotta tell them exactly what’s in those opponents’ collectives and say: “If you want us to beat those guys, we’ve got to beat them in every arena.” I know sometimes Purdue kind of wants to do it the Purdue way, which I completely agree with, which is blue collar, sort of the underdog story. But when you’re talking about professional sports, and this is professional sports, you’re not asking the Oakland A’s to go beat the New York Yankees. And so you gotta at least get close to what other people are playing with.

Brad DeWees, long time member of the West Lafayette Football staff. HC Joe Burvan, Indiana HS Wrestling HOF member, and Gym named after him here. Good Stuff @scarab527 said it well, I mean GARY, IN was literally developed for the purpose of housing steel workers and families, and we all see how when that industry dipped that community did too. -

Just not in Weeks 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15 !!!! 🥵 -
I will also add, OSU Non Con was very poor, for their standards but like Coach Beamer said this week, forget about him scheduling better in NON CON if its going to be held against his team. https://thespun.com/college-football/college-football-coach-re-thinking-scheduling-after-playoff-snubbing At least the B10/18 doesn't schedule , checks notes, yup, Chattanooga and Mercer in November.....cough SEC, COUGH
-
Schedule complaints are impossible to validate in College because with only limited amount of NON CONF Weeks to fill, you have to try to project where the team will be talent / skill / competitive wise 3-6 years down the road. So holding IU schedule against them on this type of year is just not fair, Coach Cig didn't create it, it was done multiple years ago, prior to even NIL becoming a thing.

Brohm and Lville would be my guess if he does make the move, since he actually committed to BROHM CORP not anyone else -

Coach Wright never wanted to leave the Hoosier Conference either but was out voted by other members of the athletic dept back in the day , he wanted to continue to compete against LCC

I see DALE DEWEES all the time around ball games and of course the Golf Course !!! Bombers have long long long history going back to 1898, I believe we still are 11th or 12th overall in total wins in the state -

UTSA coach was contacted based on my local mole in San Antonio who coaches with a guy who is connected to HC of UTSA Leopold has like an 8. million dollar buy out, that probably eliminates him I think I am rooting for TULANE guy. I could see Helton as well -
You know what this will continue to be about....... M O N E Y Alabama brings in the Money, Miami does not as seen last year with Florida St.

Many great memories of Coach Wright and Blackhawk vs Bombers back in early 2000's. A wonderful Chili pre game with @Ballhawk A Purdue Football Clinic where Coach Wright about choked on a chicken wing when someone at the table was talking about one of their kids running a 4.4 40.......coach leaves, then he mutters, "Brett Law never ran a 4.4, no way that kid is a 4.4". Always competing !! I hope Coach wins another ring with Carmel (if that is where he winds up)

I believe that is exactly what Coach Brohm did. Then there was Coach Walters ......and his sub 40 year of age entire staff who torpedo all the good vibes and names of Purdue Football that Brohm QUICKLY built by giving opportunities right away to 3.5 star Rondale Moore and then 4 star guys in Bell and Karlaftis, Brohm was very good talent evaluated and developer with his staff. Walters brought in an OC who was and still is poor at that particular position at the high end jobs he has had, brought in a QB that was a Texas reject who never actually looked like a high level QB for a P4 conference team, perhaps again coaching on that front..... Purdue did what IU did to certain extent when they flipped the roster in year 1 of Brohm and developed Freshman into All American's and NFL Draft picks
