I thought Ballard was on point on indentifying issues and put it all on him because he allowed non competition complencey to set in as the major issue. Gave praise to DBuck on being man enough to opening challenge the locker room and his comments in the media. For some reason Ballard must have a thing about trying to draft and resign his owns and thinks its a failure when they have to go into FA, thats why he called himself stubborn.... I was close on the 31-28 ND victory I posted in other thread, I invested in only investment that paid me off at +650, that was ND winning by 1-5 points. 🙂 On first glance, the question is health of ND offensive line moving forward to the 20th, that may cause the line to move closer to -7.5 or 8 to OSU. Don't think it goes any higher than -9.5 personally. Can ND take a page out of Michigan playbook and control up front and grind out the game, keep OSU offense on the sideline and out of rhythm. I am not sure yet....... not ready to invest quite yet, 9 more days to go.

Scenario in Coach Sparty World You are coaching North Newton Spartans, 2023, you show up to August practice with 17 guys on the roster, its time for your 1st team session and you and your staff want finally reps in contact team session, thud, or otherwhise, Johnny did not come to any of Coach Sparty's off season workouts, but he did show up day 1 with is physical and all his paperwork. Johnny goes through the practice and does all the running and all the Coach Sparty individual drill work as assigned by coaches, so its time to get in there as a "Scout" team member, yet per your response, you would go tell that kid to go to the sidelines. I believe I have outline that philosophy correctly, if not what am I missing? Or better yet, said player can allow you 12 players to play a JV game ( yes I have coached JV games with 12, 13, 14 guys before) you go to the game, he is the only kid who did not get a snap in all game, because you know, non mandatory work outs that were missed. I am sure the rest of the team,parents admins would support you in this scenario to prove your point and I am sure that will equate in postiive experience for Coach Sparty team in the future off season workouts. Why I undertand that, said player will get no time on said field, but the messaging seem to suggest you would literally have that player not be present at all. So you are saying that the player will still be part of your team, just not playing any snaps in a game. More than fair for any coach to do that if that is there perogrative. Seemed as if you were saying there was ways to physcially remove the player from the team with out telling him he is cut.

Matt Campbell at age 45 has brought Iowa State to new levels and has sent multiple players to the NFL the last 4 years as he is developing and sending. What he has done at Iowa st the last 9 years from young man to grizzled 45 yr old veteran has been very impressive. Guy before him 32-55. Won title as OC with Mt Union in D3 shortly after his playing career concluded. He has an extensive background as OL coach coming up when he first got started

I have no issues with Warren from what I have seen so far, he is big picture, big bravado guy, I am cool with that, I believe him when he says he is there to assist Poles when called upon. As far as Poles contract, that goes back to day 1 3 years ago when Poles was hired, the press asked then and was given the same answer by Poles, that he will never discuss his contract status ever as the GM of the Bears, Poles when asked 2 days ago about contract, gave same answer as he did on day 1 on the job as he has done 3 years later. I believe Warren was just respecting the wishes of Poles on this particiular topic, IE: his contract length and price

Definitely don't want the NFL nor will get to the NBA level the way it's structured with its contracts and how the ownerships are strong. His tone to me seem like somebody who was very upset that his team went 5 and 12 on the year and he was holding himself accountable for that. I'm sorry I'm not going to be happy with anybody in the Bears going out there smiling and doing backflips I will say he was spot on when he talked about the competitive poise in games was the downfall of the season and anybody who paid attention this year would agree that how they reacted as players on a field by the coaching they were given in competitive situations led to many losses that were on the brrink of wins
