Yes, I do.    It was our Freshman we sent up there to play.   Coach Knutson was explaining the situation pre game to our 2 Freshman Coaches at the time Matt Stevens *(still there) and Chief Phillips, (first year off staff, officially retired) and talked about the hoopla ceremony right after kickoff, there was going to be a stoppage in play and game balls handed out to all the stake holders who made it possible to get the program up and running.   Our guys said absolutely no problem at all.   Coach Knutson walked away 2 steps and said in "jest" unless you guys run it all the way back...........

WELP.....   the ceremony went on, Bombers up 6 or 8-0 as Andrew Johns, all 5'2 135 pounds of him zig and zagged his way to paydirt.    Our current JV coach and Head Wrestling Coach, Hunter Hickman was QB of that class and that game as well.

I’m glad to know Boone is repping the Southern reaches of the Region so well!  Tomorrow’s game will be epic.

Hoosier Conference is set up in 2 division East and West

Week 9 is Hoosier Conference Championship Crossover Week

#1 East Cass vs #1 West West Lafayette and on the way down the list based on how you finished in your division.

When Delphi left conference 4 years ago, Conference decided to play out all the non conference contracts and new schedules would be done and each school from each side of the conference would pick 2 teams to play as Non conference games.

RCHS:  We play Western and Northwwestern

WL:  played Hamilton Heights and Cass

    LCC:  Played Tipton and Northwestern

    BC:  played Cass and Western

Twin Lakes: Played Hamilton Heights Tipton

So Cass and WL played week 7 and then again week 9 :  This year WEST division of the Hoosier hosted the EAST.   Next year East will host the West in week 9 games.

This year the West went 4-1 vs East during Championship week

    1st Cass

    2nd WL

    3rd:  LCC

    4th  Western

    5th  RCHS

    6th  TIpton

    7th  Twin Lakes

    8th:  Hamilton Heights

    9th:  Benton Central

    10th:  Northwestern

I told you he was smart!

I assumed that was a mistake by Harrell.

No, this actually happened.  Although I'm not an expert (as far as you can get away from it actually), I think it has something to do with the Hoosier Conference Crossover.  Coach Nowlin is the dude to ask, he's smart...

Wow, bold call (Baylor).  I'm thinking if LSU beats Bama during the season, it won't matter if LSU loses the SEC title game.  They will still get in the playoffs.  Maybe not as the top seed, but they will still get in.  Now if they win the SEC title game also, I think that might push Bama out (believe it or not).  I guess that could open the door for a team like Baylor, but several things will need to happen.  The pollsters do have that SEC bias, so maybe they'd keep a one loss Bama.  The preseason polls come out and 3/4 of the SEC teams are ranked.  LOL  Go figure.  Pollsters love the SEC..  They just have to have a #1 vs #2 matchup somewhere during their season.  They won't get it this year in the SEC title game (thank goodness!)

Yeah, you're right about the pollsters and the SEC, you can thank ESPN for that.  Although Baylor was an outside the box prognostication for sure, it would be great to see them in there given the whole Art Briles fiasco...

You think the West Cannon Coyotes ever road on a yellow bus ... Doubt it!  This is proof that they charter planes in Texas!

On another note ... I had a roommate in college that moved from Thermopolis, WY to Crown Point.  She played basketball and their first road trip was to Merriville.  When she showed up to get on the bus with a pillow, she became a target for ridicule.  By that time, she laughed at the situation, but she said that the shortest trip they ever took in Wyoming was an hour and a half plus.

Sometimes I think that we are just looking for things to complain about.  Some people are not satisfied unless they are unhappy.

Thermopolis...a long way from anywhere, just like Kemmerererererer.

That's what I tell my players when we have away games ... the one thing I love more than winning a game on home turf is taking one on someone else's home turf.  Makes the ride home a lot shorter.

My Rebels are having a little trouble with that right now, but just give it time.  As Howard Jones once said, things can only get better...

A lot of times, that's what it takes, a good coach can be the foundation.   Case in point: Kansas.  They gave everything Texas could handle.  Why?  Probably because the Mad Hatter on the bench.  Minnesota and Baylor are also examples.  Sure, they're college, but I think a documented head honcho can be the key to success.

Unless we're talking NFL--college coaches have no business there, case in point, Dan Devine...

More so....Hart has made his impact at a number of schools. Mt Carmel (southern Illinois) back in the day....Reitz to a state championship, Warren Central too....Huntley Illinois he went 28-12 before coming to brownsburg.

so good at coaching his own sons are just as successful on the gridiron with all they have learned in Harts 30+ years of coaching.

Nick Hart as we know is the coach of GIbson Southern and is 84-14 since he took over.

Derek Hart this year took over Kankakee Illinois football program and has immediately turned their program around too. He is currently 8-1 and has the Kay’s ranked 10th in Illinois 5A.

I won’t say someone can’t be better than John Hart. But the man has been outstanding and recently just notched his 300th career victory, currently at 300-91 all time record in 35 seasons...mind you he is only 57 I believe so he has been at this since he was roughly 22 years old

Mt Carmel (2A Illinois) 101-21 in 11 years.

    Reitz 73-17 in 7 years (2007 title)

Warren Central 41-9 in 4 years (2009 title)

    Huntley (7A Illinois) 28-12 in 4 years

Brownsburg 32-9 in his 4th season

Nothing against any other coach but it’s hard to say someone is a better coach than Hart...his 2 sons are successful football coach’s and his 2 daughters are coaches for basketball and volleyball and have been successful there too. 1 was a girls basketball coach for Central/Princeton and has gone 113-25 in 6 seasons. The whole family is coaching gold.  Wherever they go, the players buy in and they win.
