Headed up there this weekend, off the cuff prediction: 47-20 BOILERS. You heard it here first.

Let. Contraction. Commence. Especially at South Newton, the Rebel-flag losing weirdos...

I disagree. I think the winner will be the team that gives up fewer points. 😅🤣😂
Getting metaphysical, eh? Well played...

Coach Foster used to be an assistant at EN, he was extremely well liked by players and coaches. I am sure they would love to still have him on the staff.
It will be a packed house on Friday. Sounds like Hobart is bringing a bunch of fans, and this is the only game in the Fort Wayne area so it will attract a lot of people. I would expect it to be standing on both sides, not sure if EN is going to try to bring in more bleachers or not.
I watched some Hobart games including the NP game from last Friday. EN has a lot of weapons offensively. They will not struggle to move the ball and score, and I do not think Hobart will have trouble moving the ball and scoring. I think this game is going to come down to who makes to least amount of mistakes.
EN 35 Hobart 28
I think it will come down to who scores the most points.

Valpo better have their big boy panties on for this game , because the Catholics are in town. Dwenger in this one.
The Catholics are in town? This is football, not the Crusades, paisan...
Then again, beat your chest all you want.

100% defense.
our defense should be able to keep them at bay. Holding them to 21 or less. But we need to score more than 28 against them and that will be tough.
their line gets after it. So many sacks from the ends. LB play is good. CBs play good and hold coverage longer than most giving the team coverage sacks.
imo they have the best defensive line in the nfl this year. And it’s probably not too close

Big matchup this week. Need to win to stay ahead of MN but also to get closer to home field advantage
Very big matchup. I know very little about the Niners, what’s their secret? Good defense? I doubt it could be Tom Brady’s backup...

TV markets, paisan. DC and NYC are much bigger than South Bend and Des Moines.

I don't see that happening.

Saw some film on Andrean they are HUGE up front. QB is a heck of a player also. They also play a really tough schedule. I’m very excited for the game, but even more excited that it’s at home. That trip is going to be a long one for Andrean. We made some mistakes last Friday that we can’t afford to make this Friday or we will get beat. But our defense is playing really quick and hitting hard. Should be a really good game.
The words "Regional bias" have been tossed around on other threads. Hey, the Region teams that have survived are that good. Although I'm sure Estabrook will provide a test, Andrean will ultimately prove to be too much.

You have got to feel for Tua. A hip dislocation is not just a season-ender. It’s potentially a career-ender. Even if the imaging does not show a fracture, the concern is that the dislocation compromises the blood supply to the head of the femur. If that happens, the articular cartilage dies and you have a condition called “avascular necrosis.” That’s what ended Bo Jackson’s career. This will absolutely affect his draft status.
I do feel for Tua. It’s never good when a kid goes down.

Stick a fork in Bama, they’re done. Unless Oklahoma has a major comeback, Baylor could find their way in. Florida State will hire their coach, Urban will be at....Fox Sports 1 or USC.

Well said and your correct there has never been 4 region teams to make it to semi state all in the same year. Someone on here will know for sure but i think 1981 is the first time there actually was the semi state round. Hobart went to state in 79, and 80 and just played a regional, the semi state must have came with the expansion of classes. As far as the rest of your break down here. I think the coaching change at Valpo was the difference here don't know all the details but at some point the Valpo players need a fresh start cause they always have the talent in the school but getting the best kids in your school on the field playing as a unit with a staff and system they trust was key for them. Merrillville is a similar story in my opinion but for them they really need to get back to the discipline level they played with earlier in the season, I watched this team completely shut down my Brickies then absolutely take it to Valpo and they really should have won that game. If the real Merrillville shows up they can and will beat Carmel and any other big Indy school they will win state if they play like did against Hobart and Valpo. With Andrean playing 2a ball is kinda silly I felt bad for Lewis Cass what a great season for them, but lets not spoil this conversation with my dislike for the private school situation in Indiana sports. Andrean has progressed so much over the course of the season and have played one of the most difficult schedules possible for any 2a school which is really showing now. They are all tough hard nose kids that want to be good, I think they have a great shot at playing another private school in the state finals lol. Your right on point again Hobart and Andrean are younger. Hobart for example is mostly juniors. Hobart had 9 seniors start the season week 4 nothing crazy they all decided late that they wanted to come out for the team for their senior years all of which had played football prior seasons, in a true act of class and respect from both sides Coach Osika left it up to the team to let these kids on the team and the kids chose to let them come back in a very selfless way. This situation helped build the family first attitude of this team. Pretty smart move by both parties, I believe that also helped push them forward in this incredible season.
I'll say it here first
Valpo Beats Dwenger by at least 21
Merrilliville beats Carmel by 7
Hobart beats East Noble by 17
Andrean beats Eastbrook by 14
Valpo should roll, the Merrillville-Carmel game could go either way, and both the Hobart and Andrean outcomes sound about right.
1 hour ago, GATA said:The Hobart Defense is really, really good. Statistically there has probably been better defenses at Hobart, but on the field flying to the football. They are unreal. After the first drive they completely shut it all down save for a long 50yd run in the 4th by the NP qb.
The Region as a whole is a little surprising. I think everyone knew Valpo would be good, MC was supposed to be but they fell on hard times.
Merrillville I think was a wait and see.
Andrean dropping to 2A gave people some hope they could make a run but nothing was for sure.
Morton had the hype train with all the D1 (potentially) kids. And Hobart was a team building momentum but maybe not ready for prime time.
I don’t know if I ever remember more than maybe 2 Region teams in a semi state, and I think all of them have a decent chance with Merrillville having the most daunting of the bunch....but certainly not a gimme for Carmel. Still think Valpo is the most likely to get through and that says a lot seeing how good Dwenger is.
On top of that Hobart is very young, Andrean is young, so that bodes well for them sticking around next year for a good run. I don’t know if there is a golden age coming but certainly it’s been a renaissance year for the Region.I can’t imagine the 219 party that could be coming to Naptown.
Represent.

Freshman year in college, freshman year in high school. Does it really matter?. The NCAA investigated and found the person to just be a family friend. He didn't meet the person because he played football. He borrowed $800 which he repaid. It wasn't a gift. I see it as doing nothing wrong. People borrow money all of the time from friends or family. No smoking gun was found. He's being suspended for 2 games and what was the violation to warrant any suspension at all? If it had been a "gift" or from an alumni or booster, I get that. But from everything I've read, he really didn't commit any violation(s).
Thank you for providing that important fact. Before that, I was beginning to think OSU is to tackle football what Duke and UNC are to basketball.

Camp Randall is and excellent stadium, just as the Badgers are equally excellent. Although Wisconsin did turn the ball over 4 times, it didn't matter much, they were just too powerful: Jonathan Taylor is a very good football player.
