  1. It would have been a running clock after the first half on a good playing surface. My next weekly worry is our semi state record of 1-12. I think we should win, but bus lag to NJ is concerning. Also the memories of 03 always haunt me.
  2. Blitz isn't invited anymore if we beat SA tonight.
  3. Yes on seeding, but just the sectionals. Maybe I could be convinced on regionals, but rather see the regionals rotate which sectional winners play each other every year. Semi states as well. This is why I'd like to see neutral site regionals and semi state venues.
  4. Having fun watching everyone guessing the neutral sites for the OHSAA playoffs this upcoming weekend. I believe the first 2 playoff games had been hosted by higher seeds until this point if possible. That has been a change as all or all but the first round were neutral sites until they expanded to 16 teams in the 4 regions for all 7 divisions (what we call classes). How would it look for the regionals in Indiana this year? Looking to expand this to semi states after this weekend.
  5. They like to run RB/FB Dax Holman (sp) & QB Laban Davis out of spread or tight. Also can throw it a bit when needed. In the old days it was Eastside spread to then set up the run. Now it feels like the opposite. Their defense is strong as the Luers game showed.
  6. I believe the SA/AC winner will beat either NJ or Carroll from watching both their sectional final games. SA offense would give both fits. It would come down to their defense. Both would really struggle with AC's run game. #9 for Carroll is very quick though so he could make a few plays against both. NJ throwing the ball could make a game against SA a shoot out possibly. NJ line would have to stop AC's D-Line to get their passing game going.
  7. Know South Adams won't do it, but the game would be better off at Bluffton. Regional and Semi State should be neutral sites anyway.
  8. Why I said probation at minimum. If your team is even accused by 2 consecutive opponents of using racial slurs, that's enough. If proven true, then even more. One accusation would not warrant anything but an investigation. Hard to believe there isn't anything after 2 consecutive weeks though.
  9. This is interesting. I've heard Wayne has had issues with fighting at events. I've heard Ole Miss has been using racial slurs the last 2 weeks. See in the thread from a reliable source that Ole Miss #62 has had issues since summer. Hopefully #62 gets some help for issues he's having. He doesn't need to finish the season though. Both teams and programs should be on probation at minimum. Wayne having another incident and Ole Miss again acused of racial slurs. Hopefully Northridge takes care of business.
  10. Watching both games last night/this morning, I think Carroll could run the ball on NJ. Culver was running quite well on them, but their defense couldn't stop NJ and NJ won the special teams. Clinton Prairie was having success running on Carroll and stopped. They were trying with no success to get their passing game going. Carroll secondary looked good against CP. Carroll definitely has offensive tendencies that are easy to spot. Keep #9 from getting past the edge and the QB rolls out right 95% of the time.
  11. They did struggle with the big FB, but yes they tackled much better. Once again, fall break needs to be a week or two sooner. Believe that took place of the Busco game. This week you can't help think about the 2019 AC vs SA regional game. No way that field is going to be in good condition. It wasn't yesterday in Berne. AC should win, but after AC upset a heavy favorite SA 2019 you need to be cognizant.
  12. Weird that the NW regional isn't LCC vs Pioneer but North Judson vs Carroll (Flora). NJ favored I assume? Watching both, Carroll's run game could give NJ some problems.
  13. They are playing well no doubt tonight. Negative a bit but more cautious. I want them to get to Indy like everyone else. Already thinking how they need to keep Wanner off balance and watch for the screens. Not thrilled about playing on the crap field in Berne.
  14. Another good 2A North game in the NE/ EC region of the state. Winner of this gets the Eastside/Luers winner?
  15. They better tackle Triton's QB & RB better than what they did against Busco. Those 2 are physical runners watching highlights. Hoping the AC lines are better than Triton's or it could be interesting.
  16. Yeah probably right on 17, but going in with Schultz & Macklin I thought the outcome would be different. Should have also said 2019 greatly over achieved by upsetting SA at regional too.
  17. 2015 I saw an AC team lose a week before they should. 2016 almost lost 2 weeks before they should have (luckily they got to SS). 2017 saw Southwood not just upset but dominate them. 2018 & 2019 did what they were supposed. 2020 they lost a week before they should as well. I want this team to get to LOS, but I just listed why I want to take it one week at a time.
  18. AC just wants to beat Triton first. One week at a time.
  19. I'm impressed with Triton's QB & RB. They play hard nosed football from highlights I've watched.
  20. There really wasn't a field available as AC used Bluffton's turf. I doubt MC was going to drive to Woodlan or Heritage just to play on turf. Berne has a ton of $, so we will see if they upgrade the field with donations.
  21. Yep that's correct. They forgot about the 3rd quarter TO by MC evidently.
  22. Should be a good game. Think coin toss and who can set their offense up will be key. Eastside has to run the ball effectively and control the clock. Just concerned about their defense being able to stop the Luers air attack. Think Luers takes it though.
  23. It was head scratching. I watched the 2nd half after AC had wrapped up their win in their 1st half. My cousin had been watching the SA 1st half and saying Kennedy was having his way but MC couldn't figure out the redzone. They never tried truly running it the whole 2nd half. Injury would have to be the answer. The end of game debacle has to be sent to the IHSAA. That was unacceptable all around regardless of shortage. It's the playoffs and it matters.
  24. The crew working South Adams vs Monroe Central has to be removed from officiating the rest of the tournament. Monroe Central got 4 TOs in 2nd half. SA should have been able to kneel it out instead of giving another chance to MC. Luckily it ended up a non factor but it could have been. That can't happen in the tournament. I know there is a shortage, but that is unacceptable.
