Naming Stadiums/Fields after Coaches?
Basementbias replied to hhpatriot04's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I don't know why they just didn't make it the Airstrip instead of specifying it as "The Landing Strip". Our new sports complex is called the SAC (sack not S. A. C. all spaced out). -
Naming Stadiums/Fields after Coaches?

We have "The Landing Strip at Minnich Field" for Coach Rick Minnich. We needed something to go with The Hangar in the Airstrip of Monroe. I don't believe anything else athletics wise has been named for anyone else. -
Ohio is the Laboratory for the All In Format

Yes I do think that is the main reason. Just like Massillon has all those paper titles but 0 since the playoffs. The Tigers don't claim to have 0 titles though. -

It's not their tradition, so they will never adopt it unless it is forced upon them. It was good for one of the Ohio local teams. Their only win of the year was in the playoffs. They weren't going to win a game if they only played the conference slate. This team probably had one of it's best years ever in 2007 and missed the playoffs with 2 losses to the 2 top programs from D5/D6 to D6/D7 range. This caused the conference to abandon conference only games. It's sad that a 8-2 or 7-2 team who lost to perennial state champs was left out from a conference that has 138 state championships (now after the football finals) with many from football. -
Nope. I think we both have parking for buggy's (1 spot or so or used to). There have been times where quite a few have came to watch. I didn't notice as many at AC as years past, but I've also been just watching the webcast the last 3 years or so. South Adams even had some go to LOS I believe. I'm not sure their numbers for watching but they used to have quite a few as well.

Yeah one positive and at least 4 negatives. -

Ugh! That has AC in 2A which isn't where we want to be. Especially with Pioneer & LCC in 2A and Luers and others in the area. We could have finally had a break our way in 1A with some pretty good classes coming up. What happens when we get kids from other schools due to the academic profile. Now back when Woodlan went to state in 2A, I wish we would have been in 2A instead of 1A with the Kizer Panthers. -
Well what to say. Starfires that was a great comeback and hard fought game. Will be a tough one to swallow, but it was a great season. CC had the athletes. Tough weekend for NE/EC Indiana football. We couldn't finish what our NW/WC Ohio brethren started last weekend. 2 1pt losses for this area sure does sting.

Lol the avatar was to be used in team builder with my stepson, but we never got the right NCAA version & gaming system to put it in there. It's a mix between Michigan & the San Diego Chargers. We both like Michigan (my #1 & his #2 to LSU) and we just liked the Chargers logo mixed in. The "Pioneer/SA" color scheme just fit in pretty well. I could change it back to the county trophy I suppose, but I use this all over the interwebz.

3 for 3 on our NW OH teams! Cardiac Cavs in this one as well! They had the lead, lost it and then tied it up. Made a big stop on defense and got a huge punt return that almost went to the house. They centered the ball up and kicked the GW FG similar to Van Wert. Congrats to the Coldwater Cavaliers on the 7th title in program history and the sweep for our NW Ohio area teams.

$90 to attend all 6 games
Basementbias replied to Warren05's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Watch on FS Indiana at my parents house as I don't think I can get it at my house. We are state liners so depending where you live, you get FS Ohio & FS Detroit or you get FS IN & FSOH/Cincy. Definitely tuning in to both 11am games Friday & Saturday. Family member was the first female kicker/player to ever score points for FW BL football and of course the county rivals which a good portion of my family has attended (not me though) SA. -
Pulling for Luers since I have family playing for them again. Be cool if another "non-football" growing up, soccer player wins another football state title! WEBO is the real deal though so it will be pretty tough. Perfect timing for them in the SF years to get 3 in a row appearances in 2A. Very impressed with their program.

It was the same when I played from 05-08. Heritage & Southern Wells were the big games for us at AC. Heck Garrett when they had been a member as well. It was always Heritage that got us in the first 2 years. It was always Heritage & then Leo when Harding closed as the top dog with AC & SW near 2-4 and SA,Woodlan, & Garrett right there as well. Bluffton towards the bottom. Lately it was Woodlan winning 2 years being pushed by AC & actually upset by SA in playoffs. Then AC winning 2 years pushed by Woodlan and then SA. The past 2 years SA pushed a bit by AC. Bluffton is getting closer but not there yet. Hoping Heritage will be back with their new coach and that SW can just survive as a school and get back on track. That would help a bit. It makes no sense other than travel for Norwell & Bellmont to join, but Norwell (few years Bellmont hopefully) would give some better competition for ACAC schools.

1A North Semi State: South Adams @ LCC
Basementbias replied to Basementbias's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That was a statement tonight! Both teams heading into LOS with big wins. Don't know much about CC, but they beat touted Lutheran and seemed to be touted highly as well. -

Luckily it hasn't rained for them too much. When it does, the visitors side gets really sloppy.
