  1. AC 7 Northfield 0. Northfield had a couple first downs but didn't get too far. More importantly they ran time off the clock.
  2. AC 55 SA 20 Final. Flying Jets move on to Sectional Finals. Sounds like possibly Northfield next week.
  3. AC gets a good KO return and scores a couple plays later but EP missed. AC 48 SA 7 seconds before halftime.
  4. SA gets a stop and has a nice drive ending in a TD. AC 42 SA 7 2nd qtr 1:53 before half
  5. Another SA fumble w/ AC recovery. Next play TD pass AC 42 SA 0 2nd qtr 7:42 remaining. Starfires went from possibly tying it up at 7 to down 42 bc of turnovers (fumbles & failed 4th downs.
  6. SA fumble recovered by AC. Few plays later AC scores. AC 35 SA 0 in 2nd 7:53 remaining
  7. AC 14 SA 0 end of 1st. AC on SA 1 looking to score on 3rd down I believe. SA had a big pass play but was stripped from behind and recovered by AC. Now AC 21 SA 0 start of 2nd quarter
  8. Curious to see how the injury at CB to Smith has any factor in the game. AC'S secondary has improved all year, but is still a minor weakness. SA will be ready, but once again, I'm not sure they have enough on either line to stop the Jets. They did have some success penetrating on blitzes but couldn't make the first tackle. We all know Mav will be blitzing a lot to try and stop Ryan T, Gavin, Ryan B, and Keegan. Like to see Wurm dominate like he did this past week.
  9. Well that didn't quite work out. I was nervous about Southwood's offense, but outside of one drive it never showed up. Does Northfield beat Madison Grant next week?
  10. AC 56 Southwood 14 Final SA 58 Fremont 0 end of 3rd
  11. 49-6 half 49-6. SA 44 Fremont 0 with 9:33 before half
  12. AC scores 2.5 seconds before half and leads 49-0 over Southwood.
  13. Southwood scores but misses 2pt conversion. AC 42 Southwood 6 late 2nd quarter
  14. My question is why is it always north vs south? Why not rotate the semi state? Meaning the "NE" regional champ could play the "SE" regional champ 1 year, the "NW" (like now) 1 year, and "SW" the third year and just keep rotating them.
  15. Also instead of a zoom call, have the coaches anonymously seed the sectionals with a secure return format from 1-8 or 1-4. Then have the IHSAA determine the top 4 in 1-8 sectionals & top 2 on 1-4 sectionals based on those anonymous results. Definitely will need tie breaker scenarios in place going into it. Then have the brackets revealed with pairings show. Maybe have one where the top seeds are revealed beforehand.
  16. My problem with the qualifying format is the headache of scheduling. Schools get pickier on opponents to schedule. This is an issue Ohio teams have for non conference games. Also having conferences as the SOS,you could be hurt by your conference. Leave the all in format as is, and just seed the entire field or seed the top half of the field & random draw the bottom half. A 2A Luers could be beaten by good 5& 6A schools but be the best 2A team in the state and miss the playoffs in a qualifier. Qualifying just sounds like more headaches when seeding is the easier & better fix imo.
  17. Nah, just keep the all in and use a system to seed it. Then the regular season still matters. Luers could definitely be below .500 and be a 2A champion. I'd compromise to even seed the tip half of each sectional and random draw the rest.
