  1. Speaking of which, who had the bright idea of Linton vs Lapel & Triton Central vs Mater Dei this year? Why wasn't it Linton vs Mater Dei & Triton Central vs Lapel for travel purposes?
  2. I'd like to see a 3 year rotation at semi state. Year 1 NW vs NE & SW vs SE; Year 2 NW vs SE & NE vs SW; Year 3 NW vs SW & NE vs SE.
  3. How does he get me at all of my houses in both states? That's impressive!
  4. Congrats to Lutheran as they were the better team. Proud of our Jets still.
  5. If the schedules were correct, they played some ACAC schools like Adams Central in middle school. Rumor is that once they go 11 man that they will join the ACAC for football at least. Makes sense when thinking about proximity near Woodlan & Heritage but not so much when Jay County & Southern Wells are mentioned. I believe they did fill in a couple of years in the ACAC basketball tournament when Garrett went to NECC.
  6. Yes I believe he's the starting center as well on offense. His father was a senior on the 2000 State champion team as well.
  7. Anyone know the parking fee for this year? Is that cash only or debit/credit? I know inside the stadium is no cash.
  8. 79 is a freshman that doesn't usually start on defense but does come in frequently. I agree though that it's going to come down to AC's D line play as well as their secondary being able to hold up. The big question mark is how successful AC'S offense will be. Will it be like the 1st half last year or the 2nd half when Lutheran started stopping them? We shall see!
  9. Pretty sure I still have my one from the 1A final in 2000. I was a 4th grader. Now fast forward and the kids playing again at state I coached some in 3rd & 4th grade and the juniors & below had as 5th & 6th graders. Getting old fast lol.
  10. It sucks that you can't. I get it with Covid, but that was a souvenir as well.
  11. Hope you're right! Definitely going to have to put wrinkles in the offense this game or it will be similar to the 2nd half last year. Lutheran did a good job of boxing their ends in the 2nd half and taking control of the momentum.
  12. We shall see. Definitely know AC will be 2A in 24 regardless if success factor came into play. Amazing how many students we have gained in the past 5-10 years. Hard to find a house or property to buy anymore that's affordable.
  13. Just so dang proud of these Jets. Regardless of the outcome Saturday, they've accomplished so much these past 2 years. Lutheran is better than last year and our Jets may not be as talented this year as last. Hope the Jets play hard and let the chips fall where they may. Would like to play in our home Reds this time.
  14. Chill man! We are going to State again! NJSP played hard and were in it the first half.
  15. Our DLine has done well. NJ had some success but turnovers hurt them. Our OLine are having their way with the Jays.
  16. 2016 Semi State hosting Pioneer. Was nice pregame and then the severe thunderstorms hit. Temperature dropped drastically in the rain & wind. It was hard walking down the bleachers with frozen arms & legs. I was hoping LCC would have been the opponent in that weather but instead Kizer & the Panthers began their tear in 1A North.
  17. Average. AC rarely has super talented kickers aside from Sprunger before my time & his daughters have both kicked for us. His youngest splits tries with T. Currie.
  18. Seeger gave us the worst feeling from a loss in 2003 as well. Up 21-0 @ half and lost 22-21 after settling for a FG that was missed. At the time, the best RB in school history (2 after him could say they are possibly) could have punched it in and sealed the deal for a state trip. Instead it was another semi state loss & that one was heartbreaking.
  19. I'm with you there. I'd like the top 4 in 8 team sectionals seeded & top 2 in 4 teams seeded & random draw the rest in all in. Almost chose the last option as I lean more on schools focusing just on education and using the European model of clubs for sports. With college NIL and programs like IMG, it seems like it's heading that way. Already have club volleyball & baseball to name a few.
  20. After experiencing LOS & security last year, it doesn't matter. They had us 1A fans trying to get out the same way the 3A fans were entering. They blocked off the other exits and stood guard so you couldn't go that way. Just massive log jam to get in & out. Also should have tickets designated by school to allow earlier access for the teams competing and then others for the casual fans. We had people from Tri & some other schools fighting in line while AC & Lutheran fans graciously waited to get in. Tri fans didn't do anything wrong but the meat heads from 4-6A fan bases tried causing issues. Think 1-3A would allow those rare instances where the rural areas get all 3 teams to state in the same year (Wells or Adams County enrollment in a couple years).
  21. Not sure travel has had much to with my Flying Jets struggles. We are what 2-12 and hopefully can make it 3-12 Friday night or we can be 2-13. Ran into some Pioneer, LCC, & Sheridan buzzsaws before to name a few.
  22. Yes exactly. They already have determined the dates this year instead of waiting. I've posted this before, but I'd rather they do 1, 2, & 3A on Friday and do 4, 5, & 6A on Saturday permanently.
  23. Why I would love 1-3A be together on Friday after Thanksgiving permanently. Don't follow programs in 4-6A and big Michigan fan. Plus the local OH HS teams usually play Saturday nights.
  24. Eh, good for those just following Indiana HS football. I like having Indiana on Friday and Ohio on Saturday if it works out that way. Don't forget college football on Saturdays as well for fans as well as officials. Sorta wish the IHSAA would make the 1-3A finals permanently on Friday instead of flopping back & forth or the notion of waiting to see where the participating schools are from.
