  1. Just saying that would have been in my top 10 instead of et al lol.
  2. No Starfires on the list?
  3. I think they will be just fine. They've went around Ohio playing bigger schools to get good competition. Doing the same here. They embrace challenges & difficult places to play. Should be a great game.
  4. Much respect to Linton as they seemed to be our Flying Jets southern twin. However, Marion Local isn't too far from us. Been a fan or should say I root for them to represent the area at state on the Ohio side. They have been tremendous over the years. Will be interesting to see what the result will be. Leaning toward the Flyers just because of their track record.
  5. WZBD has Jeremy Hullinger as the new Heritage HC
  6. Also Southern Wells is looking for a new coach. Their head coach last season is going to be an assistant coach at South Adams per Outside The Huddle (OTH). Heritage & Southern Wells suffered the same fate of losing their head coach to a conference foe where they'll be assistants.
  7. Definitely. Both Kiser & Zachery prevented state finals trips for my brother and I. What those 2 did in 1A along with with these 3 Lutheran teams of late is impressive.
  8. Things are getting interesting in 2A North & the ACAC. Coach Kolkman is leaving the head coaching position at Heritage and is going to be an assistant at Bluffton. He just got Heritage back on track and seemed to be building a nice culture & foundation for the Patriots. Very solid addition to Bluffton.
  9. Guessing he also played backyard football in similar conditions at birthday parties. Probably a common occurrence in Adams & Wells Counties. Probably also got yelled at for playing in the worked up fields & gardens too when they were muddy. Why I'm surprised 3 of the 6 went to turf when they have an advantage with grass.
  10. In person the last decade was Kiser as Pioneer beat my brother's team his senior season at semi state. Worst weather for football that I have endured. Before that, Nick Zachery being the same grade as myself and just torching us at semi state as a freshman.
  11. True, but the class that is graduating carried a good load the past 3 seasons along with the upcoming Seniors & Juniors as of late. That class was dominant at every level and adding the grit/toughness of the upcoming Seniors and the talented soon to be Juniors was a great bonus. I hope the incoming freshman to 6th grade classes get better but they do not possess the same athleticism & football IQ as the grades above them. Hopefully they grow into it and the culture that is Adams Central football can continue to right the ship. That Bluffton 6th/soon to be 7th grade class reminded me a lot of the graduating class of AC at that age and similar to the South Adams 2020 state team. As I mentioned, they had some parents coaching from that 99 Norwell team that lead Roncalli 3 quarters before falling to them in the 4th at state. I do think the upcoming AC 7th grade team will be solid playing as 1 team instead of being split into 2. Hopefully one standout continues with football instead of wrestling full time. He has the moves like Logan Macklin and is a tough kid & great teammate.
  12. I think everyone expects a drop from the past 3 years, but the Flying Jets will be solid for a year or 2 before possibly having to "reload". The upcoming season's Seniors through Sophmores have talent & a gritty fight to them. The freshman to 6th grade classes need some development as they've had weaker records in MS & youth. Bluffton will be challenging & possibly overtake the Jets in the near future, especially those Freshmen through 6th grade. They have a kid that will be MS (unless they finally verified his age) that is a monster offensively & defensively. He was on their middle of the road team. They had a strong team of 5th & 6th graders he wasn't on besides a weaker one that was still decent. They had some influence from Norwell's 99 state finals alums.
  13. Well that's all squared away along with announcing girls wrestling and boys volleyball. Have to think boys & girls lacrosse will be next in line.
  14. Not sure, more like Ohio. They have semis Friday & Saturday and finals for all Sunday. I'd rather see another round then have 2 semi state games. Semi State should be the final 4 not 8.
  15. Be nice to see those when they come out. Knew classes at least. Ohio just announced divisions & regions yesterday. Once we know Indiana sectionals, we can see where our Stateline teams are all assigned.
  16. Side note, how about they change that format again. Make the current regional be called "district" and the 1st semi state as the regional. Then do a final 4 weekend of semi state & state for hoops.
  17. Just south of Decatur (Home of 2008 3A Champions Bellmont) is Adams Central in Monroe (2000 1A State Champs & 2021, 2022, & 2023 1A runner ups). South Adams is in Berne ( 1A runner ups in 2020) just south of Monroe.
  18. Yeah, I was including SA with AC for this. SA made it to regionals how many times and fell to AC. Be curious to see how they do without AC around, though they were in a bit of rebuilding last year instead of reloading.
  19. Man we send a Class 1A state finalist 4 years in a row and aren't good enough to be in the area to pick from. Bummer.
  20. Seems to increase each year. I'm not a huge fan of it either, but I can't say too much. I use my parents address in AC district for my elementary kids to go instead of in Ohio. Looking for housing but everything is ran up & I'm tied to a certain area due to stepkids in school in Ohio. I want my house to be in AC district and not SA or Bellmont & be open enrollment taking away from those 2.
  21. Maybe, but they have a lot to replace this season. The MS & youth last year were a bit down, but hopefully those kids mature and become good football players when they see Friday Night Lights. They will be solid, but I'd say Bluffton is a team to watch from 2A North.
  22. Going to miss 1A! Wish we could have got 1 out of the 3 before leaving, but being there 3x in row was awesome. See if SA can get back soon to represent Adams County. Be nice to get Bellmont in 3A, AC in 2A, and SA in 1A to Indy the same year. I can dream!
  23. Hearing on Yappi that Ohio small school power Marion Local (close to here) will make the long trip to Linton Stockton in week 1.
  24. Yes. Her aunt that I graduated with at AC was also a phenomenal athlete. She was great in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Shame her aunt stopped playing basketball when the coach retired. Julianna reminds me of her in how she speaks & acts.
  25. She'll wrestle 3x today. Adams County genes on both sides. Her dad was a Bellmont wrestler and her mom's side are AC folks. A lot of athleticism on both sides.
