Lafayette Jeff vs. West Lafayette being moved to Lafayette Jeff. From the West Lafayette Athletics web site... "Currently, WL has been approved to have 250 guests on the home side and 250 guests on the visitor side. Lafayette Jefferson has been approved to host a total of 1,500 guests. Moving the game gives us a better opportunity to safely create the Friday night experience our players and communities deserve. Keeping this game at WL would make it challenging for each player to accommodate his own family, and it would leave no opportunity for the students of West Lafayette or Lafayette Jefferson to attend the game. The administrations from both schools recognize the student body plays a major role in creating a positive and exciting Friday night atmosphere. Collectively, this is an opportunity to promote two excellent football programs, allow all of our parents to attend, and give our students some sense of normalcy in what has been a challenging 5 months."

I remember those days, mine were in the late 70’s. A bologna sandwich didn’t taste very good coming back up for a “second chew” after lunch and the second practice in the heat.

West Lafayette has had three HOF coaches... Gordon Straley, Earnie Beck and Lane Custer (alas, while Coach Custer was the HC for a few years, he was just installed into the Track & Field HOF) 😉

I am more than a little biased as well, but would think that West Lafayette should be under consideration. Consider this data: Overall Tournament record - 71-34 (.676) Sectional record - 53-22 (.707) overall record; 14 championships 9 regional championships 5 Semi-State Championships 2 State runner-ups 3 State Championships 2 Hall of Fame Coaches (Gordon Straley & Ernie Beck) 1 Mr. Football (Daniel Wodicka) Current Coach, Shane Frye, has been at WL for 8 years with a record of 86-18 (.826)

DT would have to get out of his recliner, brush off all of the Cheeto's/Dorito's from his shirt, get in the passenger seat of his car so the wife can drive him to Boone County to check out the socio-economics of Western Boone county to be able to make his assessment of the affluence of the area..., and that ain't happening! 🤔
