Watching the first half of the Bears game, I was struck by an unfamiliar thought: the Bears appear to have a QB, a head coach, and an offensive coordinator… all working together, on the same page, and successful!

What’s the part of what @Impartial_Observersaid with which you disagree? I thought what he said was not only accurate, it wasn’t particularly controversial. Nature plays a big role, but so does nurture. Social scientists have accepted this for over a century.

The mighty, mighty Eagles of Lakewood (OH) St. Edward punched their ticket to the Final Four in Ohio’s Div. 1 Regional final last night by beating #3 Mentor, 27-0. They will take on Gahanna Lincoln in the semifinal next week. Calpreps has the Eagles by 15. Possible rematch in the title game vs. Moeller, who the Eagles beat earlier this season 6-0, after a 4 hr. bus ride to Cincinnati. We shall see.

I think I’ll get a t-shirt made that says that.

I was the Referee in that game. It was my absolute worst in my career. The mud ruts on the field froze during the 2nd half and you risked turning an ankle with every step. Norwell’s Chandler Harnish was the only one who could get any traction, it seemed. We wore white knickers in those days. I left mine in the locker room trash can. They were beyond salvage. That’s the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been on a football field.

Don’t know about top 10, but that’s pretty cold. Not my coldest by a long shot, though. I remember a night at the Berry Bowl when game time temp was 17.

It’s looking like pretty much any relationship with Rodgers ends up fractured… unless it’s Pat MacAfee. 🤣 Any possibility of trading Rodgers? His cap hit is enormous, but somebody looking for a QB to get over the hump might be willing to pay it for a grab at the brass ring. But with that contract, the Packers are not going to get much in return. As for the strategy of drafting a QB, the consensus seems to be that what was once thought of as a treasure trove of QB talent in the draft is now looking more like Young, Stroud, and everyone else is just meh.

Judson still has natural turf, correct? Frozen turf can neutralize an advantage in team speed. Forecast calls for game time temperature in the low 20s, with wind chills in the single digits for most of the game due to a 12-13 mph breeze. I don’t know what the line is, but I’ll take the under.

Also remember, if a K player is blocked into the receiver, the contact is excused.
