  1. 1. How was it proposed? Four year is what I've been saying it should be since it's inception. Programs typically go on 2-year talent runs. 2. Depends on how you tweak it. It really just comes down to this: How important is football at your school? All private schools could take advantage if they wanted to. But they all don't, so I would agree that a multiplier for all isn't the best solution. How about a multiplier for just the private football schools? I like it, but no way would the IHSAA go down that road, and quite frankly, I don't blame them. In the meantime, I guess we just settle for the 2-year cycle even though the majority would agree that 4 years is the way to go. 3. Agree, see #2. I can assure you, I think about that every time I reluctantly hit the 'submit reply' button when bringing up the multiplier. 4. Go to a 4-year cycle. If a team doesn't win a state title, they don't bump up. Period. 5. Agree. I was never on board with that. Cathedral would take home 80% of the titles. Probably because they are a football school and the largest private in the largest metro area.
  2. Not sure what you mean by "entirely." We can't pretend that Ben Davis and Adams Central somehow belong in the same division.
  3. Good post. I agree that the success factor doesn't make any sense in it's current form. I've been saying that since it's inception. The talented kids get the trophy at the lower level, and the less talented kids get the bump up. The best solution I've seen so far is to bump up a team based on how many of it's players come from outside their normal pipeline. I've always been an advocate for having a multiplier for private schools. I also don't think a team should get bumped if they didn't win a state championship...........Adams Central. They didn't get their win at the 1A level, now they don't get to get their win at the 2A level. Makes no sense at all. The only part of your post that is inaccurate, and it's the second time you've mentioned it, is the ability of a high school team to beat some college teams. Maybe you don't really believe that and you're just using it as context to prove your point. Outside of magnet schools like the IMG, it would never happen. A D3 program with 19-22 year old kids would beat Indiana's best high school team by multiple scores.
  4. There's a few school right underneath Warren Central that are catching up in enrollment. No one is catching Carmel or Ben Davis anytime soon.
  5. Northrop would struggle to get out of 2A with Adams Central and Luers there. They have no business in 6A. But unless you form a committee, we have to go by the numbers.

It's all good. I just got an education from the both of you. Nothing wrong with that.
  7. Last year was a travesty for a Big Ten fan. Should have been an all Big Ten championship.
  8. I'll opt out. In all fairness, my interest level tanked after ND got embarrassed in Louisville. Then went down some more after the Clemson game. I'll just trust the three of you.
  9. I'm glad I don't have to. Whatever happens happens. I really just think I'm in the mood for a debate.
  10. I know that sucks, but it is what it is. Can we agree that Alabama is a better team now than what they were when the played Texas? Honestly? I think this is the worst field since the playoff started back in 2013. This Alabama team wouldn't even be Top 7 any other year.
  11. So it's not about the four best teams? I'm confused.
  12. It's not Ohio State and Alabama's fault they play in a good conference and Florida State doesn't. It's not a money grab to me, it's about the four best teams. You know as well as I do that Florida State wouldn't beat the Buckeyes or the Tide. Let's be honest. Florida State wouldn't beat Notre Dame.
  13. Understood. But if I'm on the committee, I really don't want Florida State, Texas, or Washington in there. Hopefully the weekend turns out in a way the committee isn't faced with tough decisions to appease the masses.

Coming out of Grand Valley State, Brian Kelly would have had this same Kent State team in the Top 15 had he been there 5 years. Who am I trying to kid. IU should just take anyone willing to accept the job.
  15. I thought it was about picking the best four teams, maybe I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure conference championships are more about the money than a launching pad into the playoff.

Lewis isn't the guy for Indiana. He couldn't win at Kent State, no way he'd win in the Big Ten..............unless we have another covid shutdown. There's a reason I'm loosing touch with college football. I didn't know a scholarship could be revoked once handed out.

Didn't know that. I didn't think Deion cut any of them. I thought it was more of "I really don't want any of you, so just leave."

That would be like winning a lottery ticket for Mike Hart.

No thanks, they need to throw the farm at Jason Candle.
  20. Tragically, yes. It's an utter mess. I think we all know that Ohio State is one of the top four. Let's stop kidding ourselves. The best four teams in the country right now are: 1. Michigan - if they don't beat Iowa, then I give up 2. Georgia - regardless of what happens Saturday, they are one of the top four 3. Ohio State - top four, end of discussion 4. Oregon - playing pretty good football, I'll take them over Alabama right now I think Oregon and Michigan win their games by multiple scores. I think Georgia wins. Neither Florida State (lol) or Texas should jump Ohio State (although it wouldn't hurt my feelings) The playoff should be Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, and Ohio State. But the committee will find a reason to jump either Texas or Florida State over Ohio State.
  21. Georgia just needs to win the game, or we're going to have a mess on our hands. If Alabama wins: Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Washington/Oregon winner. Undefeated Florida State left in the dust.

Players entering the transfer portal dominating the headlines. It's absurd. Total fail for the NCAA to allow this to happen. Universities should now be able to eliminate a player on their own accord if said player doesn't perform up to expectations. Tit for tat.
  23. "Backing out," after already committing? I can't imagine that's the case. If it is, I'm sure there's a legitimate reason.
  24. It was a woman that said that. She was referring to Luers teams of the past. Probably those Jaylon Smith led teams.
