  1. Clemson is actually starting to look like a decent win. They're better than what their record indicates.
  2. Florida State certainly isn't one of the four best teams in the country. Again, I think they'd struggle to beat a three loss Notre Dame. But I'll defer to previous conversations here and concede that an undefeated Power Five conference champion deserves a spot. The SEC is just gonna have to be pissed: 1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. Texas 4. Florida State

Purdue does suck. I'm not sure even the student bought into "Michigan and Ohio State" sucks, lol. But hey, if he got the crowd energized, more power to him.

I was at a loss for words when it was suggested that he said that. I assumed maybe he said that to the media, which would have been bad. I don't see anything wrong with saying something like that to rev up the student body. Great hire in my opinion. Reminds me of Brian Kelly how he's done well at every stop. Learning from Saban helps just a little too. He sounds like he knows what he's doing, not just a rah rah guy.

    Cignetti said that?
  6. At the end of the day, the recruiting claim is losing ground, although one would be naive to believe it doesn't exist. The question becomes, who's more guilty, publics or privates? I would say they are equally guilty depending on the program and coach. I would think, though, that it's probably easier to get a kid from out of district to a private than it is a public. Just my opinion, don't know that for a fact. I still see socioeconomics as an advantage that some schools have over others. It's an advantage schools like Center Grove and Carroll have, similarly to that of a Cathedral or Chatard. It's just something that a good coaching staff at an inner city school will have to strive to overcome. Because we all know there will never be a multiplier handed down to privates or one based on socioeconomic factors.
  7. Lol. Blackhawk Christian can attest to how hard it is to break into 11 man. It turns out that being really really good at basketball and baseball equates to getting completely squashed in your first year as a football program.

Yes, thanks. I was getting a migraine trying to figure out who Campbell was.
  9. Was he even close to being nominated? Kudos to you for giving a lineman an opportunity. "Thanks guys for protecting us, but we'll collect the trophies." Not that skill players say that, but it's almost how linemen are looked upon with regard to Mr. Football and the Heisman.
  10. "Only" a sectional title is normally a down trend for Luers. It just always seemed they were on a down cycle any time they got bumped up. They had several teams that were good enough to win 3A. Two or three of them could have taken 4A..........in my most humble opinion.
  11. I get it. I actually appreciate the information you provide. You do this weird thing where you back your positions with data. It takes some getting used to.
  12. So Mylan Graham then. Not even close going by that measurement. Of course, I'm sure there's been linemen who've had the most impressive rating and offer list who've been passed over in the past. I think it's hard to ignore what Fabio Ringer has done. His stats are off the charts. I wanna say 2700 yards rushing, 50+ touchdowns, and over 10 yards per carry. Two straight championships. And a not too shabby three star rating on 247. I could role with him being Mr. Football.
  13. Under that format, I believe East Central qualifies as 5A's smallest enrollment team. Snider vs East Central would have been interesting.
  14. Does Mr. Football normally go to best player or best stats?
  15. https://www.ihsaa.org/sites/default/files/documents/2022-23 2023-24 Football Alignment.pdf I would agree with that.
  16. Hence 80%. I think I misinterpreted your post. Certainly you're not implying that Chatard would win all them. Cathedral is 8-2 vs Chatard over the last 10 years. Again, 80%.
  17. SAC - If I were making an early prediction, I'd say that Carroll is likely to have the best offense with a Power Five quarterback leading the way. Snider will have the best defense. They return three of their top four tacklers, and six of their top 12. Defense, once again, will be sick. Offensive line will be typical. Lots of new faces at the skill positions. Homestead doesn't stay average forever if you look a the history of their program. It's just a matter of "when" will they have a run on talent. Dwenger could also have a run on talent, but they don't seem to just "reload" like they did under the helm of Johns and Svarczkopf. So there's a very good chance that Dwenger is just "average" again. Luers have been at the 3A level before, but it's always been when they are trending down talent wise. Hence the reason we need to go to a 4-year success factor instead of 2-year. They've yet to win at that level. With Chartard out of the way, the Knights only chance is if they trend up next year in talent. For Snider, 6A is altogether a different beast. If Snider can put together a team that's as good as 2022 & 2023, then they have a 50% shot and reaching Lucas again. NE8 - You have to start with East Noble and Leo. The Knights will always be relevant with Amstutz leading the way. I'd love nothing more than to see East Noble as the East Central of the north. In my opinion, any team run by a Doerffler has a chance. I think Jason has a better opportunity at Leo than he did at Northrop. I look for the Lions to be good every year under his direction. I can't really speak for Columbia City and the rest. ACAC - Adams Central. Arguably the best program in Indiana pound for pound. Arguably.
  18. 1. How was it proposed? Four year is what I've been saying it should be since it's inception. Programs typically go on 2-year talent runs. 2. Depends on how you tweak it. It really just comes down to this: How important is football at your school? All private schools could take advantage if they wanted to. But they all don't, so I would agree that a multiplier for all isn't the best solution. How about a multiplier for just the private football schools? I like it, but no way would the IHSAA go down that road, and quite frankly, I don't blame them. In the meantime, I guess we just settle for the 2-year cycle even though the majority would agree that 4 years is the way to go. 3. Agree, see #2. I can assure you, I think about that every time I reluctantly hit the 'submit reply' button when bringing up the multiplier. 4. Go to a 4-year cycle. If a team doesn't win a state title, they don't bump up. Period. 5. Agree. I was never on board with that. Cathedral would take home 80% of the titles. Probably because they are a football school and the largest private in the largest metro area.
  19. Not sure what you mean by "entirely." We can't pretend that Ben Davis and Adams Central somehow belong in the same division.
  20. Good post. I agree that the success factor doesn't make any sense in it's current form. I've been saying that since it's inception. The talented kids get the trophy at the lower level, and the less talented kids get the bump up. The best solution I've seen so far is to bump up a team based on how many of it's players come from outside their normal pipeline. I've always been an advocate for having a multiplier for private schools. I also don't think a team should get bumped if they didn't win a state championship...........Adams Central. They didn't get their win at the 1A level, now they don't get to get their win at the 2A level. Makes no sense at all. The only part of your post that is inaccurate, and it's the second time you've mentioned it, is the ability of a high school team to beat some college teams. Maybe you don't really believe that and you're just using it as context to prove your point. Outside of magnet schools like the IMG, it would never happen. A D3 program with 19-22 year old kids would beat Indiana's best high school team by multiple scores.
  21. There's a few school right underneath Warren Central that are catching up in enrollment. No one is catching Carmel or Ben Davis anytime soon.
  22. Northrop would struggle to get out of 2A with Adams Central and Luers there. They have no business in 6A. But unless you form a committee, we have to go by the numbers.

It's all good. I just got an education from the both of you. Nothing wrong with that.
  24. Last year was a travesty for a Big Ten fan. Should have been an all Big Ten championship.
