  1. That makes more sense. Actually, won't they stay in 6A since they won a sectional?
  2. The 4A vs 5A debate makes more sense this year than it did last. 5A gains East Central, but loses Snider and Mishawaka. 4A loses East Central but gains Cathedral, Mishawaka, and Chatard. You and I can agree for once.......4A might be better than 5A. But let's not pretend that East Central + Whitland + Decatur Central + Bloomington South + Warsaw + Valpo + Merrillville = "weak". I'll look forward to Decatur Central and Merrillville knocking heads for the hardware.
  3. 6A: North will be a war with Crown Point, Penn, Snider, Carroll, Noblesville, HSE, Fishers, and Westfield. 5A: Warsaw knocking heads with Valpo and Merrillville. I like the Pirates and Tigers chances at making it to Lukas 4A: Northwood gets some competition with Mishawaka. Is Dwenger officially an afterthought? 3A: Wonders if Luers has a shot at their first ever 3A championship with Chatard out of the way. 2A: Adams Central vs Indy Lutheran for state? 1A: New blood.
  4. Fair. I guess Fort Wayne is easier to predict than Indy. A player here or there may make a move, but not enough for a transfer of power shift.
  5. I more less figured...........just didn't understand your wording. Slow on the uptake I guess. Iowa will always be good with the defense they put on the field, but they'll never be a playoff contender if they don't open up their offense. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Nothing to fix on defense, plenty to fix on offense. I don't know if Sullivan will take the Iowa offense to new heights, but I do know he'll make things dangerous for his high school opponents. Temp...........what Indy teams have a shot at going undefeated? Who were the young teams last year? I'm hearing Warren Central might be legit, but we heard that last year too.
  6. I get that Iowa's offense is and always has been stale. I think it was his wording that through me off. At the end of the day, Carroll should be a pretty good team with Sullivan at the helm. Sure, the committed to a program that is least known for their QB's out of all the Big Ten programs, but three others thought he was good enough to extend an offer. And for the record, I'll say it again, I know nothing about what Carroll return other than he and Dinan. They do seem to be in a reloading phase. The student enrollment continues to grow and their facilities make Snider and PFW look like third world countries.
  7. Elaborate, not sure I understand. If it makes you feel any better, Sullivan has offers from four Big Ten programs.
  8. Agree. That kid had as much impact on the defense than any kid I've ever seen. That being said, the defense returns enough talented kids to make the overall team dangerous. I also agree that the season will come down to whether or not they can put an offense together. An average to slightly above average Snider offense, coupled with that defense, would make Snider a contender out of the north. If they can put together a Top Ten Snider offense (a long shot in my opinion), I would go as far as saying that Snider would be the favorite out of the north. Strong words for a 5A enrollment team when programs like HSE, Fishers, Noblesville, Crown Point, Westfield, Penn, and Carroll are involved. But that's how much I like the defense going into 2024.
  9. I'll roll with over, under, over.
  10. I'm surprised Greater isn't on this list.
  11. I second that. Ten dollars to support your local athletic department is too much, but $120.00 is perfectly ok to support a bunch of guys you don't know from all over the United States who are highly over priced for the value they bring to the world. But that's just me.
  12. Does it have to be computer generated? I think you put into the hands of humans. A committee from different areas of the state. If a computer is the determining factor, you'll no longer see good teams taking a knee and the end of the first half.
  13. I agree with the prior two posts. Go external, but I know nothing about the talent that's already on staff. Penn is a blueblood and arguably the most successful program in the State of Indiana. There are good coaches out there with championship backgrounds who would take this position. Congrats to Yoeman on a tremendous run. Wins are great, and he had plenty of them. But it sounds like he was successful in defeat as well. Penn has been blessed for decades.
  14. Good stuff. I hope it passes. Does the new proposal call for Sagarin to determine seeding? I saw that the old one did.
  15. For the record, they return 3 of their top 4 tacklers, and 20 of their 27 interceptions. They have two DB's with D1 offers. Should be pretty solid on that side of the ball. That defense only allowed two touchdowns in the 2023 post season, both at the hands of Mishawaka.
  16. Carroll's off to a good start with Iowa QB commit Jimmy Sullivan. Don't know much about them other than that. Their program seems to be in a reloading phase. I wouldn't consider Carroll a lock against Penn. The Chargers were good last year with good outings against Hamilton Southeastern, Warren Central, and Snider. Then got wasted by Warsaw in the post season. Gotta hand it to Bart ball though, Snider almost suffered a similar fate in Mishawaka. Long story short.........Penn can beat Carroll. I don't see any SAC teams going undefeated, schedules are brutal.
  17. Was hoping a poster or two would come forth stating that they are vegan. Need some action in the off season.
  18. Homestead, Dwenger, and Northrop are all annual games and none of those are mentioned. I'm not sure where where and how John Harrell gets his information. I know Snider and EN have a pretty good relationship. Barring a catastrophic event, I don't see that game being canceled. I'm 99.275% sure Snider will be hosting them in Week 2.
  19. The schedule looks incomplete. Snider inked East Noble for at least 4 years.
  20. Yes. Schedule looks pretty brutal. Not sure who they return next year in the way of talent, but coaching losses could make a significant impact.
  21. Any chance we can get some transcripts?
  22. Sometimes the biggest win is off the football field. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/01/12/indiana-football-coaches-association-announces-good-works-team-for-2023/72164231007/
  23. We said that when Elkhart became a mega school. Like you always say............"show me."
