  1. I could see a light routine just to get the blood flowing. My first thought would be to rest your players on gameday. Not my area of expertise. Would love to hear what others have to say. Another thought would be to rest your players the day after. Again, would like some insight on this.
  2. I'll clarify by saying that Fort Wayne is more of a Colts town. Back when Indiana didn't have a football team, most fans gravitated toward Chicago. The Steelers also have a major presence in the Fort. I'd say Colts fans outnumber Bears fans 2-1 now. Disclaimer: I don't watch the NFL anymore. Someone else might be better equipped to answer this question.
  3. Had to look that one up. LaPorte took the panthers to the woodshed. No one saw that coming.
  4. I doubt high school age 'young people' prefer to be classified as children.
  5. Any team who overlooks their regional opponent deserves to lose. Sometimes you can get away with it at the sectional level (or not.......see Snider/Northrop 2021). The regional level is different though. Teams make it that far for a reason. Mishawaka is 10-1 for a reason. Merrillville at Valpo - It's never easy to predict a game not seeing either team play in person, but looking at their schedule and results, I have a hard time believing Merrillville doesn't win this one by 14. There's been talk of improvement by Valpo over the course of the season, maybe not the case with Merrillville. I'm not expecting a 27 point blowout this time around.
  6. Can't tell you that, but I can tell you how far east they go, and I know for certain that Fort Wayne isn't considered The Region.
  7. Do you consider yourself a burb of Chicago? Then you're from The Region. That was always my thought.
  8. Depends on whether or not they want to win a championship. There are many lessons learned from playing any sport. Building a championship team is one of them. Work hard and win in the game of football, work hard and win in the game of life. Not a bad lesson if you ask me.
  9. It's all hearsay.
  10. Or was that Kokomo? It was one or the other, I remember the play well.
  11. They don't watch film because they choose not to? Or they don't watch film because it's not something the coaches require of the team?
  12. Certainly IMG started running the football every play after they went up 42-0. If not, shame on them.
  13. The overall culture of a program is in serious trouble if a kid and walk away at halftime and still have a spot on the team the next day.
  14. All bets are off. Both programs are good and deserving of where they are.
  15. Is it typical for football players to workout the morning after a game? I was referring more to the overall culture of a school in all sports.
  16. Rumor has it: Center Grove has a massive weight room. Center Grove's weight room is packed on Saturday mornings. Music thumping, kids jacked up. What's the culture at your school?
  17. I would think you of all people would appreciate football at the 1A level. You seem to like a good challenge. What's more challenging then putting together a good football team with an enrollment of 300 kids?
  18. Good point, they were in regardless.
  19. If LSU goes down to Georgia, who in their right mind puts Oregon over Michigan or Ohio State. Now if one embarrasses the other in that game, then we can make a case for Oregon. USC could make things interesting if they win out, but they barely beat some teams that are average at best. In my opinion, Big Ten vs SEC is an easy decision this year.....................unless TCU wins out, which I don't think they will. You make a good point about Georgia being locked in last year before the SEC championship. They learned their lesson and LSU will be the victim. On the flip side of that, Brian Kelly is EASILY one of the best four coaches in the country. Idiot LSU fans who were calling for his head earlier in the season will soon find this out. It would be dangerous to dismiss a Brian Kelly led LSU team, but I think he's a year or two away. He won championships at Grand Valley State, he won the MAC at Eastern Michigan, he led Cincinnati to an undefeated season, and he took a program with high academic standards to the national championship and two Final Fours. He'll get his national title at LSU, but it won't be this year at the expense of the Bulldogs.
  20. No need to worry about three. LSU isn't beating Georgia. So Georgia and Tennessee is a given. If Michigan/Ohio State is close, then both those teams make it. So there's your Final Four. I don't see TCU winning out and I certainly don't see Oregon jumping a one loss OSU/Mich team as long as that game is decided by ten points or less. This year's playoff SCREAMS Big Ten vs SEC.
  21. Offensive line is night and day from the beginning of the season. Give credit to Harry for that. I think that's the biggest difference in the team that beat Clemson vs the team that lost to Marshall.
  22. Ran out of likes. Agree with all. The Notre Dame win was impressive, but I really don't think Clemson is Top 10 team. Looking at their overall body of work, this team isn't on the same level as the Dabo teams from 2015-2020.
